I Really like Sunshine Optometry and have been going there for years. Probably spent over 2K on new glasses with them over the last few years and my insurance paid them a lot also. I didn't want to write this review but the front desk doesn't listen. I was late for an appointment. The appointment was for 2:40. At around 2:48ish they called and left a message on my voice mail which said I was late but they could get me in at 3:00. I was parking at that moment in their lot and instead of calling back which would have slowed me down I walked into their waiting room only 3 or 4 minutes after they left the message on my phone saying they had a 3:00 for me well before that 3:00. The woman at the front desk said that they had given my 2:40 to another person. They had also given my 3:00 to another customer because the people at the front desk were not talking to one another so she did not know someone else had told me 3:00 was good. I said "not a problem, I will come another day". She said that since I had been late for an appointment in the past which they had forgiven I would need to pay them $40 to schedule another appointment. She said it in a way like it was to teach me a lesson? I spoke to her a few times about this and it was like she had turned off her listening. I said that I was there at least 5 minutes before the time they had switched me to. She said that internally they had bad communication about that (my fault?). I also said you gave both my times to other customers who paid you for both those times. So you are asking a long time customer that has paid you thousands of dollars to pay you for time you gave to someone else and were paid for so you could double bill the time? She wasn't listening. I gave them 2 stars instead of one because they are only going to charge me the $40 if I book another time. If I never go back to them they are letting it go. read more

For the first time in years I am finally happy with my prescription and frames!! Shout out to Jo for her wonderful attitude and she is so helpful and knows exactly what you are asking for. The entire staff as soon as you walk in they are all nice and sweet. My Dr is always so thorough and answers all my questions. My husband is also a patient and he is hard to impress so a huge thank you for making him happy. read more

Loud shout out to all the wonderful staff at Sunshine Optometry. I cannot recommend this practice enough. Everyone is friendly and professional from the moment you walk in the door until you leave. Both experienced Optometrists take the time to address all needs concerning vision and happily explain any questions or concerns. The level of customer service from the front line people (especially Kirstin) is very high where they anticipate the needs of their patients in a kind and knowledgeable way. I truly felt "seen" no pun intended and they were genuinely invested in my eye health and overall experience. Also their new office on Tourney is clean and bright with a lot of selection of frames. read more

Dr Alice Sun is amazing. I have dry eye disease (more than just normal dry eye). She was able to access the glands in the lids and show me how they were clogged or atrophied totally. She is doing treatments to at least unclog the glands that could have some functioning ability. She has carved out this specialty in the field. On top of the knowledge and ability she brings to this field, she is a really nice person. read more

I was pretty skeptical about trying another eye doctor as I was a patient of Facey for over 35 years. I used Sunshine Optometry prior with getting glasses and I was very pleased with the customer service I had received at that time. The reviews were great. I decided to meet with Dr. Thornton and I am really glad that I did. I can say that I have met my new eye doctor. I really appreciate that he took his time to answer all my questions and continue to ask questions himself. I can tell he was very into his work and really enjoys helping his patients. Overall it was a great experience. All the girls in the office are great!!! very sweet and super helpful. No matter how many questions I would ask they're always willing to answer them with a smile. I appreciate each and everyone of them! Thanks again Sunshine Optometry. read more

I booked this appointment 6 months ago for my 6 year old daughter and I put it on my calendar that my appt. was today at 3:00 and the lady at the front said it was scheduled for 3:30 when I arrived at 2:45, she told me someone had an appt for 3:00 and if she doesn't show up before 3 they could take me but they purposefully wasted time to keep me waiting and I came with my 3 kids who I had just picked up from school and they were hungry and I informed the lady about the situation and she replied I would be next as soon as the lady was finished but behind my back she went and spoke to the doctor that was gonna see my daughter and told him to call a different patient other then my daughter so he left and called another patient and it was past my appointment time. When I confronted her about it she replied saying he had another appointment at 3:10 that I wasn't informed about and the doctor was there and said nothing so I got my refund and left. Nobody came and try to de-escalate the situation or apologize for my experience it was a complete waste of time. The doctor along with the staff here are very unprofessional. read more

I am such a big fan of Laura, who did an amazing job in helping me select frames that fit my face. Also, when I had an issue with the frame, she took ownership to correct it. She is all about great customer service. So happy we met. She's my go-to going forward! Phyllis M. read more

I would definitely recommend Sunshine Optometry to all my family and friends. They have the best service to a great selection of frames and sunglasses. Very professional 10/10 read more

This review is for the clinical portion (not administrative/reception/office) this review is for the exam portion and technical portion... After seeing 3 optometrist in the past 10 years, I finally found one that spends the time with me and answers all my questions and patiently waits to see if I have any other questions. Optometrist Daniel Sjolund is the best so far, and knowledgeable. Very kind and took time to consider my issues as all important. He answered all my questions and my concerns. The technician he passed me on to had such a great sense of humor and fun personality that she put me in such a good mood when I left. She took in my concern that I didn't want to pay too much and help me take full advantage of my VSP coverage. She also spent time with me without feeling rushed and addressed all my concerns just like the my new optometrist did. I enjoyed my exam there and the attention I received. The place is clean. Since I am a neat person, (I am sort of obsessive) I didn't see any dust sitting on the exam equipment's as I did at the other places that I was afraid of putting my chin or eyes near. All their equipment looked dusted and regularly cleaned. read more

Time for my annual eye check up. I love getting the call from he confirm the appointment. Once I arrived, everyone greeted me warmly and I immediately went in to do preliminary test. After test into the office to see if I knew my letters ;). Plenty of questions asked and answered. All went well. I cannot say enough about the staff and the doctor. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I am never rushed and the offer opens if you want on style of glasses. Two thumbs up! read more

Terrible customer service. Seems like their employees have something else better to do. Won't want to bother them again with my need for glasses. Pretty bad when you ask what "eye size" means and they just keep repeating it in a condescending tone. Saying it again doesn't make someone understand it. read more

They went out of their way to meet my short deadline for getting my glasses done, as I had to leave town for a month. One of the doctors even volunteered to pick up the finished glasses from the shop so I'd have them the same day. I recommend Sunshine Optometry. read more

Nice Doc and the girls are nice to. I missed my first appointment and they changed me $40 that sucks.

If i can put -5 i would, my review is about the front desk not the Doctors. They charge you according to what you described on the phone when you take an appointment. They said "your insurance doesn't cover prescription" I replied well "i don't know if i need any" So i went and the dr. Said that i'm fine i just need eye drops. The whole thing was 3 min. And they charged over $100. Saying that it is my fault because i described my condition as an emergency prescription on the phone. So my point, they don't charge according to what they do, they charge according to what you describe on the phone. Horrible place read more

As always I received friendly and competent service. I have been coming to this Optometry store for several years and they always listen to me and my concerns. They answer all of my questions and I feel like I get top notch care. I highly recommend this eye care store. read more

Doctor Thornton worked with only positivity and patience. I assume others conduct the same way. I only wish that front desk would have specified an appointment cancellation fee. read more

I've been coming to Sunshine Optometry for about 20 years. Doctors here are very nice and pleasant. They have a great selection of frames. I recently met the new doctor, Dr. Thornton, and was very pleased with the service he provided me. Thank you and welcome to California! read more

My family and I have been coming to Sunshjne Optometry for about 1 1/2 years now and we're very happy with them. All of the doctors are great and very thorough. They're friendly and make both of my boys (ages 10 & 4) feel comfortable throughout the process. I highly recommend them! read more

The lady's at the front desk have horrible customer service. They have zero personality and are not friendly whatsoever. Edit: Daniel, as I previously stated when we spoke on the phone it had absolutely nothing to do with the copay.. it was when I asked about the $60 "contact fitting" that she referred to, she could not explain that it was the copay for the contact exam. It was also the tone in her voice when she said "it's only $60.." read more

Helpful staff ; however, they set your next appt without conferring with you first; I like the choices of frames

Unbelievable customer service. Dr Sun really knows her craft. Her exams are very through. She found things in my eyes that my last Optometrist didn't. Without her I would have never known the problem. She's going to help me really see again without glasses. I'm so damn happy read more

Our experience was great, informative and helpful. Laura put in time to help pick out our glasses. They were all very professional and friendly attentive to our needs. Thank you read more

Bad customer service. An appt was made to have my daughters yearly eye check up. ( a year ago)The day before we were sent a text to confirm the appt, which I did. About 4 hours before the appt I get a text saying the time is no longer available. I called and they told me because I didn't answer there call the time was given away. Yet I had a text saying thanks for confirming see you tomorrow. When I called they said oh sorry the system does that if we try to get ahold of you and can't , even tho I had confirmed my appt. they didn't try to fit me in or find me another appt. just oh sorry. With that being said there's plenty of places to get eye exam and glasses so we will not be bringing our business back to this place again read more

I live near by Granary Square and finally decided to get my eyes checked. The front desk staff at Sunshine Optometry are very friendly and helpful. They explained to me my insurance benefits and helped me understand the best possible options to utilize my insurance. They were very patient and answered all of my questions. The exam was very thorough and the doctor spent a lot of time examining my eyes. The ladies who helped me with glasses are also very nice. I was able to try on many different cool styles. I am very happy with my new glasses and my experience here. I highly recommend Sunshine Optometry! read more

They charge a $40 late cancellation fee if you don't cancel in time. Lol, like anyone would feel obligated to pay that. Just take your VSP or whatever insurance you have somewhere else. Walmart will give you full coverage on VSP by the way. read more

I have been to many optometrists, most seemed to be big marketing type operations designed to sell you all sorts of things you did not need. I went to Zeltser because he was close to my house. I found a real gem. Dr. Zeltser is an old-time eye doctor. He has been at this location probably since granary square opened in the 80's. The fact that he is still around says a lot. I am confident in his service and he takes great care with my eyes. I also am not subjected to gimmicks and what not like I was at a prior provider. He takes my insurance, and they handle all the billing which is worth it's weight in gold. They have some evening hours and are able to accommodate my busy schedule. What more could you want in a provider? read more

This business has been going downhill every year since it change hands and every year it's different employees and my last visit was my last . I had picked a set of glasses my wife didn't like . She works out of town so when she came home for Thanksgiving I had an idea ,I would take her to pick a pair she liked .So we went to Sunshine and I told them what we wanted to do and they said that seeing that my insurance wouldn't kick in till January that we could pick them out and they would hold them till January .We actually pick out two pairs of frames I had picked a rare set with a clip on and she had pick out a expensive set as well.We offered to leave a deposit and were told it was not necessary they would be in a box with my name on it and would be ready in January. Well January came I had my exam and they brought the box with my name on it and one pair of glasses where gone the ones that were rare were gone.Of course I ask where my glasses went and the optician calmly said "I sold them " ! I then ask why and she said " It's not like you paid for them" and I said but you were suppose to save them and she said " It's not our policy to save glasses and keeping in mind that she brought the box from the back with my name clearly written on it ! I left abruptly while she continued to dig her own hole by yelling and trying to lie her way out the mistake she had created . And that's when I discovered how expensive Sunshine is , the same glasses that they wanted $375.00 for the frames I found for $139.00 .So do your research and shop around . Don't wait for a extremely rude and frankly a dishonest employee to make you leave !!! read more

Recently took my 2 teenagers in for their routine eye exams. Everyone was helpful and attentive. They have a great selection of frames and went over our benefits with us. Even after purchasing our glasses, they helped my autistic son with a refit since he could not adjust to the style of frame he had selected. Would highly recommend this office read more

My son and I have been coming to this place for years, way when Dr. Z was still in charge. Now it's under Dr. Sun's ownership and the quality of service is still top-notch. Our family is being taken of very well and we're grateful for everything. read more

I was in need of a new optometry office that was local and one that was recommended by friends. I always want to help local businesses because that contributes to our community. I was tired of just going to the spots where they just advertise you to death to get some kind of savings. The last place I had glasses from didn't make me feel comfortable. They rushed us through to get a frame and a set of lenses which turned out wacky. So I essentially wasted money because they couldn't get it right even after going back for adjustments. I was told it's my fault for choosing the frames and lenses. But I had no idea what I was getting because it wasn't explained to me. I went in to Sunshine Optometry and right away I notice the difference. Dr. Sarian explained all the issues I was experiencing with my previous lenses and helped me decide on a different type of lens that better suited my needs. He did a full examination of my eyes and checked on an issue as I was having with blurred vision in one of my eyes. He explained my issues and all checked out great which was a great relief. He let me sample a prescription right in the examination room so I could evaluate my lenses to make sure it was a good fit before I get new frames and lenses. I was really impressed with the selection of designer frames. They have all the brand names that you expect and more. Joanna, Jackie and the entire office staff really helped me pick out some stylish frames that fit me perfectly. Everyone was really helpful in finding me a style that fit my needs and my budget. I am not usually good with picking out stylish things for myself (especially glasses), so having some extra "eyes" really helped me find the right style and lens for my needs. I can't wait to get my glasses to finally enjoy proper vision. I would recommend this optometry office for all of your eye care needs. read more

Made a last minute appointment because my glasses broke. Figured I would just get my eye exam in because it was due for both myself and my son. My normal Dr was too busy and to be honest the vibe of their office has been changing for the last two check ups so I figured I'd try somewhere new. Boy was I glad I did. Sunshine was able to get me in within 48 hours and they were so nice. The Dr readjusted my prescription ever so slightly to make my prescription more comfortable and gave me samples of different contacts to try. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for people that really pay attention to personal needs not just sales goals. read more

very helpful front desk staff, clean and professional office. Dr.Dan was nice and professional, gave me a pretest right after I checked in (new patient), he explained the results of my pretest and answered all my questions. Dr. Sun gave me the eye exam and was very thorough, she gave me options and there were even some laughs. the whole experience was very positive, it was like I was meeting with friends. Very nice and wide selection of styles and prices for frames. Super cool people and I even got a great deal on a pair of prescription glasses and sunglasses! read more

Sunshine Optometry - Nice show room and great selection of frames. - Optometrists Near Me - Santa Clarita, California

After combing Santa Clarita Valley For months trying to find frames that I like I stumbled upon Laura at Sunshine optometry in granary Square. I was starting to think I would have to leave Santa Clarita for Beverly Hills or the like in order to find an interesting frame that did not look like everybody else's that had a little spark. I admit I am a difficult fit and I am particular due to many issues as far as glasses go. Laura has gone above and beyond ordered special glasses in that she knew would fit my face and look great and has helped me with patience and kindness. She deserves five stars. Because of that I have now booked an appointment with Dr Sun To have my vision checked and she also received great reviews. Run don't walk for your next eyeglass appointment to Sunshine optometry ask for Laura she will fit you like you've walked out of the cover of a magazine read more

This office is so helpful, courteous and lovely to visit. Our family were all accommodated in one appointment. Three of us needed glasses with changed prescriptions and our middle child needed sunglasses for his sensitive eyes. We were happy with the selection and options available and all chose our frames easily. We have been coming here since the previous optometrist and like the new one even better, she's so kind!
