Dr N was so awesome and thorough with her exam and explanation of what she believed was happening. I have been coming here for years and recently had cataract surgery on both eyes. So, I made an appointment to get a pair of reading glasses which is all I need. When I got there, I was told that the former doctor had retired and was handed an info sheet to fill out. When I told the receptionist that I had an old pair of glasses I wanted to use for the reading ones, she told me that the temple was cracked. I was willing to sign a waiver, but she insisted that the lab would reject them. So after driving almost an hour to get there I left with nothing. For example, he would not disclose the co-pay price for 1.67 hi index lens, but rather a huge range. Furthermore, he then said "go sit down now, I have other customers to attend to", but no one else was in the shop. And he is not the optometrist. It takes a lot for me to write reviews. It's gotta be either REALLY great or REALLY bad for me to want to tell others about my experience. Well, today, I encountered REALLY REALLY incredibly terrific! I had not been to an eye doctor since I was a child. That was a long time ago. My wife set us up appointments at OPTX Optometry. I was nervous, because I'm like that. Hate the unknown. But because I can no longer see anything inside of three feet of my face without reading glasses, I knew this was an appointment I couldn't get out of. From the literal second we walked in, I was at ease. Lianna, Valia and Haikaz were all incredibly nice and welcoming. I was taken to the fancy machines and everything was explained in detail. It was a piece of cake. Doctor Betmaleck was thorough and talked through every test and reading he was taking. He gave me peace of mind and has a great bedside manner! After the examination, the team was great with showing me different frames and taking measurements. Nothing was rushed and you can tell they want the final product to be perfect for their patients. Was I looking forward to today's appointment? Absolutely not. But these people are professional and also really really cool. I've owned businesses my entire career. And as most of you know, there's GOOD service and then there is another level. This was another level. It was exceptional. From my experience, you can't provide that next level experience if you don't enjoy what you do. This team, these people clearly like each other. They seem to really enjoy their jobs. If they don't, they are extremely good actors. Reading back over my review, it's too good. I poured it on too thick. It sounds like I'm a shill who knows this office and its people. But until a couple hours ago, I've never stepped foot into this place. Maybe I've parked in front of it and walked over to BJ's or Salt creek. But I didn't even know it existed until my wife did some research and made us an appointment. I'm glad she did. No, I wasn't looking forward to visiting an optometrist today. Nothing like squinting over a small laptop for 7 months to make your eyes feel less than their best. Love the customer service here! I came back a week later after getting my eye exam elsewhere. It's because this shop offers high end brand name frames. The person who helped me get my pair of Chanel prescription eyeglasses was Martin. He was super helpful and so pleasant to work with. Actually, everyone there was nice and helpful. Martin even helped me adjust my sunglasses that was not purchased at this store and even cleaned before handing it back to me! Post-transaction, I needed additional documentation for my insurance, and he was able to email it to me within 1 hour, even called me to make sure I received it. Note to the business owner, this employee is a keeper! For some reason though, they close around 2:30 pm and reopen at around 4pm, reminds me of Europe and Dubai where they have "siesta" hours. I've been going to him for more than a decade now and every time I go in I'm always surprised about the new technologies and practices that he employs. Also I've noticed that the quality of lenses he uses is better than others. I've taken my prescription elsewhere sometimes because I don't live very close to OPTX and every time I've been disappointed. When Dr. Edmond makes my glasses, the picture is razor sharp... the same prescription elsewhere just isn't as good. I'm guessing it is due to the quality of optical glass used on his lenses. When I finally realized that "cheaters" wouldn't work any more and that I really needed to see an optometrist, I decided to visit a neighbors' vision group here I Valencia. While I wasn't disappointed, I felt as though the experience was more assembly line in nature and not warm and personal. When it was time for me to get another eye exam I decided to take my wife's advice and visit Optyx. I'm glad I did. The staff was warm and friendly and the Doctor was very knowledgeable and explained all of the processes that I went through. Dr. Edmond really is one of a kind. The exam itself was a breeze. The guy knows how to carry a conversation and actually cares to know what his patients are doing. Truly a class act. No matter which staff member you run into, I guarantee they will find the perfect frames for your facial structure. I went in there and in 5 minutes I left with frames I was in love with. The staff is very knowledgeable with lenses and frames. They answered all my questions thoroughly and were extremely patient. Last but not least, I have noticed a drastic difference in lens quality when coming to OPTX. I had the same prescription with Lenscrafters, but when I ordered from here I noticed a drastic improvement with eye strain. The clarity and quality of the lenses here are very transparent. I put them side by side at work and can never wear my Lenscrafters lenses. I have been to over 15 different optometrists in my lifetime of wearing glasses (23 years) and I honestly recommend OPTX over all of them. Here is an update to my initial review. Dr. Betmaleck did indeed contact me immediately upon my writing of the Yelp review. He was very nice about offering to replace my ruined frames with a new one and also explained that there are designated labs for usage with my insurance (which hadn't been previously explained). I was able to pick out another nice frame (Fendi) and have lenses placed in that frame without charge. His office staff was also helpful in keeping me updated with the status of the new frames and delivery. The only issue that was not resolved to my liking is that my Tiffany frames (which were so comfortable) are still bent and simply do not fit as they previously did. It is my understanding, however, that should be attributed to the lab as the bending could not be completely undone. Dr. Betmaleck, I apologize for the delay in my update! I want to thank you for providing me with the new frames and lenses. Your staff that helped me with the new frames were also very friendly and helpful! You have definitely turned this negative situation around for me and I appreciate it very much. read more

Just moved to town and came here for my exam and contacts. The office was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. My overwhelming feeling of this place was that the service I received was excellent, especially the the gentleman at the front desk. I made my appointment with him over the phone, and he was kind and friendly and accommodated my appointment request for the following day. When I was at the office, I also watched him help a (very obnoxious) 6-8 year old girl with her glasses. He was wonderful with the child. I was impressed. I had an excellent visit for glasses at Optx Optometry. I wish I had caught the young lady's name that helped me choose glasses as she was instrumental in helping me. She suggested I try on a pair that was within my price point and was so enthusiastic about how they looked on me. Since then, I've received so many compliments on my (her) choice. But the biggest part of this review is their customer service and speed with which I received the glasses. I was there on a Monday and received them Friday of that week. Dr. Betmaleck is an outstanding doctor and my wife and I love his attention to detail. The exams are top-notch and you can be assured that you are getting the best, under his care. I am sorry that due to my change in insurance last year, I am unable to continue seeing him. The reason I cannot give them 5 stars is that Optx is very high priced and will not negotiate. In October, my wife went in for a $225 exam (competitively priced at $125 locally) and overpaid for her annual supply of contact lenses, $50, even after a mail in rebate that will take 6-8 weeks to receive if you fill out the oodles of paperwork correctly. She as well paid $350 for lenses only (for existing frames) that I shopped online and found for $100 less (Same brand, same options, same coatings). In conclusion, Dr. Betmaleck is a great doctor but you're gonna PAY! We feel like it costs an extra $250 to walk in the door. "Poof", there goes $920.00! Did I mention that even after spending nearly $1000, he still charged us five dollars for a glasses case? read more

My 1st visit to Optx was in October. I was actually a walk-in and I hadn't done my homework to see how others liked Optx. The people behind the desk were great... not just a little great, but REALLY great. Very friendly & helpful. I cant pick out my own socks so having them help me pick out the right frames for my face was very much appreciated. Dr. Betmaleck was crazy thorough. I don't think I've ever had an eye exam that the doc spent as much time with me as Dr. Betmaleck did. He made sure I was comfortable and answered any questions I had. My new glasses were at the store within the week - amazingly fast from what I am used to. Fast forward a few months..... my frames broke over the weekend. I stopped by the office (again, no appt) and they stopped what they were doing and fixed my glasses.
