Very disappointed with the service I received. They screwed up ordering my contacts and instead of admitting their mistake and apologizing, they tried to cover it up. On top of this, I was suppose to receive a years worth of contacts and did NOT receive enough to last a year and I tend to extend my wearing time on each pair. Last time I tested my eyes, I was 11years old. I had no issues back then. Lately though my eyes have been tired and vision been weak. I decided to visit this office and called for an appointment. From the time I walked in, the staff was so friendly and willing to assist. I met Dr. Betmaleck and he walked me through every step explaining what he was doing and what he was looking at. Being part of his thought process made me feel at ease. I also wanted to buy sun glasses. I liked their selection. I picked one, but the lady that worked there suggested some other ones that fit my face shape better. She sure was right. I was really happy with her honesty. Picked up my glasses and I'm happy, happy, happy.! Great service here kids! If you have frames that you just want the lenses replaced they will do this for you here. Other places I have been have said that if you want to replace just the lenses in your frames there is a $100 dollar charge plus the cost of lenses..which for me cause I'm blind as a bat my lenses are expensive. Not here they will charge you only the cost of lenses if you bring in your own frames. Nice, I will be back for sure! read more

Dr. Betmaleck is a really wonderful optometrist. I have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed great service. I just had my eye exam today and it just reminded me how great the customer service is. Dr. Betmaleck took his time to talk to me about my pinguecula (raised bumps on my eyes from sun damage) and answered all of my questions (and I had a lot). He even came out of the exam room to talk to me about frames and tints he recommends to help mask my pinguecula. He really provided a thoughtful and thorough exam. Highly recommend. read more

Dr. Betmaleck is fabulous! I was referred here by a few of my coworkers and I've had great experiences ever since I started going here. I feel that Dr. Betmaleck really cares about me and my eye health. Every time I go in for an appointment, he spends a good amount of time with me doing various tests and then he explains everything to me. If I have questions, he's more than happy to answer them thoroughly. I just feel like I can really trust him; you can tell he knows what he's talking about! Also, every time I go in, they thorough clean and adjust my glasses and then always give me a few pairs of complimentary contacts to get me by until my box comes in. I've been having my eyes examined at this location for years but this time my prescription has advanced to progressives not happy! Once the glasses arrived I was having issues with blurriness that didn't go away. I returned the glasses and after a few weeks the new prescription arrived and were perfect! Since my first posting, Dr. Betmaleck contacted me right away to notify me that my insurance approved the custom contacts. I came in for another examination and he put an urgent request on my new glasses so I can wear them while waiting for my new contacts to arrive. Unfortunately, due to my condition; Keratoconus and wearing my old contact lenses for so long, my eyes were very irritated and needed intense treatment for about 2 weeks in order to heal before I could be fitted for my new contacts. He went above and beyond my expectations with helping me to quickly get my eyes back to a healthy state in order to be able to wear my new custom contact lenses. I have to say that he really came through for me when every other Optometrist before him just gave me regular contacts and glasses and sent me out the door. I am so happy to say that after the past 3-4 years of suffering with blurry vision and headaches, I now have 20/20 vision which I never thought would ever be possible again. I just started going here last April. I bought a pair of Oliver people's sunglasses. To my surprise a piece of the lens broke off. When I brought them back in to explain what happened a really friendly gentelman helped me (I wish I could remember his name) I explained what happened and he informed me he would take care of it and get back to me. Initially Oliver people's did not want to take responsibility for there product but he definitely went to bat for me. In the end because of him they will be replacing my len's. I really like Dr Lizette, she was professional, sweet and informative. But the positive experience stopped there. At first, I liked their receptionist staff, they came across friendly and helpful. The took us through their limited selection of glasses, none of which had a price marked on them. We picked out a pair and they assured us they will add all of the options our insurance covers (they also assured us we had great coverage and our insurance covered many options), then had us pay without giving us a breakdown of the charges and sent us on our way quickly with just a credit card receipt. We got home and realized we didn't have a breakdown for the charges, so we contacted them immediately, but they didn't answer the phone. We left them a voicemail and then searched for the glasses we purchased online, only to find we were charged over $150 more. We're reasonable people and understand online prices could be cheaper, so we called 3 other opticians in Santa Clarita, and found all of them charged about $80 less than Optx. Optx called back two days later (points for them) and agreed to match the price to local retailers (additional points for them) and we just had to bring in the card we paid with. Easy enough, right? Wrong. Very wrong. We received a phone call around 2pm several days later saying the glasses were in. We confirmed they were open for a few more hours and could be picked up that day. We headed down there at 3pm, but they were closed. And the sign on the window said they would be returning the next day. Trip #2 to Optx was completed. What a waste of time. Trip #3 to Optx and our second attempt to pick up the glasses. We brought the card in when picking up the glasses we ordered, but were told the doctor was out of town and would mail us a check for the difference when he returned. We insisted on our credit card being refunded while we were there since we were more comfortable with that while we were picking up the order, but we were told the doctor is the only one who can do credit card refunds, and he will do it once he returns from his vacation, we just have to bring in the card (again). Fine, not worth the trouble to continuing arguing about it, so we'll trust you and give you the benefit of the doubt. At least we finally received a copy of the invoice that we requested again. But, how much time do these people think we have to waste? We looked at the charges on the invoice and something didn't look right. We were smart enough to call our insurance company, who confirmed we were charged almost $50 extra for extras that our insurance is paying for and assured us Optx could see our coverage. So, you're telling me they charged us and are charging our insurance for this? So, they're getting paid twice???? Wow. To make matters worse, they told us Optx applied two of our extra coverages to the glasses, but our insurance covered several more that they didn't use. The person we spoke with even said most people sign up for just about everything since we had such good coverage. Unbelievable. Trip #4 to Optx. We called first and they said they were closing early, but would help us if we arrived immediately. We brought in the card. And we brought in the glasses. We discussed our concerns about the charges we paid for and what insurance charges. They (with another customer present in the waiting area) told us our insurance doesn't cover what we were discussing and that we have to pay a portion, they know this because they can see my coverage when they pull it up. So, I pulled up our insurance coverage and showed her. She confirmed the information I had was correct, but we opted for a premier version of what insurance covered, so we had to pay for more. Wait, what? Why weren't we told this when you told us you were applying everything insurance covered? We requested she contact our insurance company, so she agreed. She stood there in front of us and the other customer and confirmed with insurance that they charged us for two items insurance covers, and she appeared dumbfounded that insurance covers those items. WTF. You just told us a completely different story to try to explain why we were overcharged. She nicely agreed to give us the difference back and refunded it to our card without the doctor being present (interesting, since we were previously told that couldn't be done), and tried to rush us out. We quickly asked if all of the extras had been applied to our glasses that insurance covers and she said it had been and shooed us out. Really? Because insurance told me you only gave us 2/5 things. So, in conclusion. The doctor is great, I highly recommend her. If you're going to go here, I highly suggest you compare prices on the glasses BEFORE you buy them. Know your insurance and the details of what you're being charged BEFORE you pay. Don't count on their posted hours. And hope you have a better and more honest experience than we did. read more

Very disappointing. When I made my appointment, the receptionist assured me that I would be in and out in 30 minutes. I showed up for my appointment 5 minutes early and waited 40 minutes to be seen. When I asked how much longer I would be waiting, I was informed that the doctor had one more person in front of me after they finished their current patient - at least another 30 minute wait. The older lady was really snarky in explaining that all patients have different needs and that means the doctor needs to take his time. I just find it very inconsiderate to assume that a patient's time is not valuable and I should wait over an hour to have my eyes examined. This is a problem on their side with appointment scheduling and time management. They couldn't have cared less when I left and said that I was going somewhere else. read more

I walked into this place because of the good review from yelp to get more information. But the cost of the exam for eye glasses is $125.00, which is very expansive in my opinion. Since I don't have any insurance. I don't think they offer any discount for new customers. Frame selection was pretty narrow. I didn't think they carried enough brands. read more
