Nice and caring optometrist, high tech facility. But the front desk lady's/ assistants need a more positive, welcoming, and helpful attitude towards patients. Both times I visited this office, I was not greeted, was not asked what I need help with, I am just standing at the desk waiting to be helped by 3+ people sitting at the desk and they are all avoiding eye contact with patients waiting at the desk. And when I am helped, the lady's all have attitudes and make me feel like I am wasting their time and don't want my business. The office got the job done with what I needed but I can get the same services at other optometrist offices that were more welcoming and willingly helpful than this place. read more

We were skeptical about trying this group, but after trying many others - and hearing glowing reports from our friends - we thought we'd give it a try. They're a very large group, with two locations in the valley, and we weren't sure that we'd be treated 'personally'. Boy, were we wrong! We got right in to the Plum Canyon office and everyone there treated us like we were their only customers of the day. Helpful, friendly and just nice. The doctor did a wonderful exam, the selection was unreal; they had everything from budget to top designs. The folks handling the frame selection and glasses fitting, etc. did a fantastic job. Again, super helpful, no rush, friendly. In short, I think we finally found a vision group that we can heartily recommend! read more

Very disappointing experience. I called specifically for the advertised free LASIK consultation and believed that was the appointment I was attending. Afterward, I received a for the tune of $400 and charges were submitted to my insurance. When I disputed the bill, the response focused on my diagnosis rather than addressing why I was not informed beforehand that the visit would allegedly be treated as a billable medical evaluation. Uncaring and rude to a fault. They said that they would work with me and my work hours to find appointments that I could attend, and that turned out to be a lie. Because of this, I had to race through traffic to make it to my appointment on time today. I called ahead and said I was fighting through traffic to make it on time, and I ended up getting there just a measly 1 minute past their cutoff time. I don't like being punished for things that are entirely outside of my control, so fuck Helm Vision Group. In their personal endeavors, I hope they only ever have to deal with medical workers as rude and uncaring as they are so they can get a taste of their own BS. read more

My daughters pediatrician recommended she get an eye exam and had me call our medical group to receive a list of in network eye doctors, I was provided with their information by them. I called in to try to get any appointment. Roxanna answered and kindly told me they do not accept my insurance (medi-cal) I let her know our insurance gave us this contact specifically as an in network dr. She tried searching and came back with the ID number does not pop up. Plain and simple - if you do not have premium insurance they will deny to see you. This is extremely disappointing, everyone deserves fair treatment regardless of your insurance type. I will be submitting a grievance against the location w our insurance. read more

My fairly new glasses were too large. I returned several times for adjustment and they kept falling off, a lense finally broke and the nose pad broke off as well. This went on for several weeks. In late May they agreed to replace the lenses and frames. Repeated calls to Jasmine left me waiting another week every time. Eight weeks later they finally came back. The photogradient was not as dark but I was so happy to to be able to see again, I just took them. Eight weeks is totally unacceptable for one to be without glasses!!! read more

I have been going to Helm Vision Group for years. My last check up was with Dr. Jia. I came back saw Dr. Jia again . She was the doctor who recommended that I test for glaucoma. I did the test and today, was the day she read the test. First, she moved my appointment to a late schedule. Second, after moving the appointment, she was late. She has not reviewed the results of my test beforehand. She took two minutes and told me about it and ask that I come back in 3 months. This transpired in a matter of 5 minutes. Ridiculous. I will not recommend this doctor. Personal hygiene is also important being a doctor herself. I don't recommend her. read more

I have been going to this place for several years never had a problem till now. I would not recommend going there. I had my eye exam with Vsp insurance with my insurance. I was gonna get prescription sunglasses a week later I was called and told the insurance won't cover it because it's every two years so I told them to process a refund they've been lying to me on the phone for the past two weeks about processing the refund. I put them on the spot this morning and they said the refund was never processed until last Friday, June 20. Their office staff lies to you does not do what they're told. They're easy to take your money but will refuse to give you a refund and think you're just gonna forget about it. I would not recommend going to this place Unless you want to be lied to. read more

I took my kids to Dr. Helm years ago, and we had a relatively good experience. He's very kind. But, we found another eye doctor for them because he double-booked patients, there were long wait times, and he was more expensive. I recently returned to his office and saw Dr. Brian Gross for a full eye exam. My eyes are healthy. When he was checking my eyes, he tugged the skin of my eyelid and said, "you'd be an excellent candidate for surgery here on your eyelids. Dr. Helm did my wife's and they look great." His "advice" was unsolicited and not appreciated. I was taken aback but having been taught to be polite, I asked about the cost of the procedure, rather than saying what I probably should have said. I'm 55 and yes, I'm beginning to show my age. But I'm happy with how I look and feel about myself. I don't think that visiting an ophthalmologist is an invitation for plastic surgery advice. read more

I can't complain about the medical care I, or my wife received. The doctors were professional and helpful. What i an extremely upset over is their front office personnel and the office manager's 'laissez-faire' attitude about the late delivery for our prescription glasses. My wife's glasses were 8 weeks to deliver after they promised 10-15 days. I am now at 9 weeks, and still no glasses. Their communication to the customer about being late, sucks! They are not proactive at all. My wife and I have made many calls about our glasses, only to be promised 'next week'. Next week comes and goes without delivery or a phone call informing us that they failed to deliver. All I am left to think is they have apathy toward their customers after they have collected your CO-pay, and insurance money has been received. read more
