I've taken the Friday salsa and bachata classes and it's always a good time! Because the space is small, they usually have a beginner and advanced classes (none in between). They take a class to a different studio room and go over the basics and then a routine. You rotate partners or you can stick with one you came with (much more fun to rotate partners). The dance social at the end is a great way to experience different styles and people are very outgoing and friendly. read more

This place does not know how to run a business. I showed up for a private lesson and was told they had double booked the instructor and didn't think to call and tell me. I drove an hour round-trip to come here. Then the girl behind the counter waits for the manager to walk away so she could begin talking down to me about it. This place is a lot of fun, either solo or with friends. They are very welcoming to newcomers, polite, patient, and truly talented! The new space is a little awkward, but hopefully only because it's not finished yet. I tried one Zumba instructor so far, and he does a great job keeping the class engaging and energetic.The staff is friendly enough but don't seem to go out of their way. All in all a nice option. Knocking off stars because they insist on filming during class, likely for promotional purposes. No permission is requested. It's both a distraction and intrusive. If you need video footage so badly, set up a a free class with people who are willing to help you promote. Don't use paying customers without their permission. This is a great little studio in South Austin! They have so many classes, it's always easy to find one to fit your schedule. The owner, Fanny, is involved and available for any questions you need. The studio has clean bathrooms, tons of changing rooms and cubbies to store your stuff, as well as vast parking outside. I love how welcoming, fun and accepting the vibe is here. No judgement; just fun and fit! A few general notes and observations: -Your first class is $5! What are you waiting for? -Ashley is great, especially for newbies, with a mix of pop, Latin, contemporary and even Beyonce songs thrown in -Alex's class feels like dancing in a club. It's fabulous, fun and high energy, but it's always 1.5 hours -On Sundays they do not take any passes (monthly, class card, etc.) or vouchers, it's $10 cash no matter what -Classes often start about 5 minutes late as a general rule and the lobby can get a little crowded as you wait -There's a water fountain -Classes can get a little loud, so bring ear plugs if you are sensitive read more

You could tell their two instructors were very passionate about it and it was good to have two options of people to watch as they moved around the room. Zoom quality not great, so it was hard to follow in places but overall a decent class. I'd be interested to try in person sometime in the future and see how it differs. read more

I am in my mid 30s and so mad at myself and at my parents because I've never taken a dance class in my life. Last night I went to Booty Week and it was so much fun! The music was awesome and the instructor was having the best time. It's easy to feel self conscious walking into a dance class but i felt like this studio welcomes all ages, sizes and levels. Im also 6 months pregnant but it's definitely a go at your own pace and basically you can feel like it's your workout. I'm going back on Saturday to take the class again. I'm hoping to improve if I keep going. read more

OK, I need to bump this studio up a star. For real. They have done so much in the past few months to the benefit of their students and I need to share how I feel about it- and that feeling can only be described as awesome. Fanny, Marispy, & Mary definitely listen to their students- and they make dreams become reality. Recently, they opened a brand new studio space next door to accomodate more classes because of the popularity of the classes in the original space. They also created a new schedule featuring a variety of classes and instructors. I love that there are more options and I'm to the point where the monthly unlimited pass option is the best choice for me. Guess what's back, too? Yep. Turbo Kick! Marispy definitely makes the Turbo Kick classes a challenge and I really appreciate the studio for listening to students like me that wanted it back. To me that really shows they care about their students and want to see them succeed at their health & fitness goals. In addition to Zumba & Turbo Kick, the studio also offers several other workouts for a variety of fitness levels including (but not limited to): Hot Hula, Yoga, Salsa, Bootcamp, Belly Dance, Rumba Flamenca, and the list goes on (just check the schedule!). The one thing I really appreciate about this studio is that the instructors teach from the heart. They truly believe in what they do and treat everybody that comes in like a member of the family. I've tried gyms in the past where you were just a face in the crowd and you're not exactly motivated to return... this place is the opposite end of that spectrum. The more you come, the more you move- the more motivation you have to succeed with your goals. So if you're looking for a place that will motivate and inspire you, Corazon Latino is your best bet in 78745- and probably in all of Austin. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE. This studio and location appear a bit shady on the outside, but it's the real deal inside. I used to take "salsa" at 24 Hour with the legendary Fanny Gonzales, and this is her studio. Was thrilled to find her again! Zumba is a blast no matter who is teaching, but they have taken it up a notch here. For one thing, dimming the lights and adding a disco ball is just too much fun! And Alex - my favorite instructor - is too fabulous for words. Except that word: Fabulous. He has loads of energy and is an incredible dancer - with enough drama to keep you giggling the whole time. I encourage you to get a couple of classes (great deals on punch cards at very reasonable prices) so you can go a few times before you decide. Mainly because the classes are fast paced, with minimal instruction (and much of it in spanish). Don't be intimidated; once you catch on there are really only a few steps...and even if you even never get it there are plenty of other people doing their own thing (seriously, I'm convinced one lady just comes to hear the music and just sort of twirl around). It's a very diverse crowd with all different skill levels where everyone is welcome! Bring comfortable clothes (there are dressing rooms) and plenty of water - this is hard work. You can modify however you need, but you will be moving for an hour straight. Go gitsome! PS. They have other classes like Bootcamp and "Sexy Chair" but I haven't branched out yet. (They have a few rooms so they can run different classes concurrently). I will chime back in when I get the nerve to try those out. read more

I was so excited when a Zumba studio opened at a location that was nice and convenient to my home! Whether you need to attend a morning or an evening class, there are several slots for Zumba, as well as some Boot Camp classes, Zumba Toning, and Personal Training hours available. Depending on the other instructors they have on the schedule, there have been Latin Dance and Turbo Kick classes (so far) as well. Schedule changes are communicated well if you are signed up on their Facebook page and/or their e-mail list. The current class schedule runs Monday - Friday from approximately 9a - 11a and then from 4p or 5p until around 8p. There are also Saturday morning classes. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the workouts are so much fun! Thanks to the multiple signs, it is easy to locate the studio ... which is actually on the right of the shopping center. I think Bill Hughes is the name of the street that you can turn on to get to the studio if you don't feel like driving through the lot. There are pricing options for those that with to pay per class, buy a package of classes, or maintain an unlimited monthly membership. Additionally, there is a place for your kids to play while you work out. At Corazon, you don't have to worry about who else is in class with you or how you look going through the moves. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. If you are looking for some fun and a great workout from well-trained instructors, definitely give them a try! read more

This is equivalent to a dive bar in my opinion. Nothing fancy, parking lot sucks, prices are cheap, always the same people, and a random disco ball. I just took a zumba class, the instructor was upbeat, and kept the energy high. I was shocked to see a full house, but the studio is large accommodated for everyone. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I've done Zumba here and there, but this place is the best. The people are so friendly and welcoming and they keep it super high energy! I used to absolutely hate any kind of exercising, even the Zumba I had tried before, but Corazon Latino actually gets me excited about going to class! The music is loud and it feels more like a dance party than an aerobics class (like the Zumba classes I'm used to). Zumba is supposed to be a fun workout, and they do exactly that. I love that they offer no-contract monthly membership as well as class punch cards and single classes. Also, having multiple different classes at different times (in the 30-minute staggered windows!) is so helpful for scheduling. It's super affordable and convenient! Oh, and Mary B is the best! I've come here for Melody's classes through Class Pass. The studio is pretty basic but clean, with large studios and it stays a lot cooler than other studios I've been to which I really appreciate. Melody's class is amazing! She is ridiculously energetic and popular. The class uses disco balls for a club-like feel and the music and choreography makes it feel more like dancing with your friends than working out. Seriously awesome and worth checking out. The best Zumba experience I've had in Austin. Great location if you live South. The studio itself is clean, and the square, spacious, mirror-covered rooms make it easy to see the instructors even when it's really crowded. All of the instructors I've had have provided a great workout. My favorites though are Mary - so easy to follow, and very friendly, Fanny for her Zumba toning classes, and Phil for all around great instructing. I love that they have a wide array of class times. And as a really nice bonus, they have two nicely kept bathrooms in the main studio, and more in the other rooms, so there is never a wait to change or use the restroom. They also have plenty of cubbies to keep your stuff in while you dance. My only hope is that they bring back the chair classes! Just a tip: it is easier to turn left at the light at Bill Hughes than to wait for traffic to pass in the turn lane to the main parking lot. read more

I've been coming to this studio for a few months now. At first, not going to lie- I felt really awkward because I didn't know what I was doing, but after continuing the classes I stopped caring and just started having fun. These are the most fun hour long cardio workout classes and I highly recommend it to those who hate jogging and gyms. The instructors have different levels of the workout routines that fit your needs and they explain it at the beginning of each class. I love Benjamin's cardio class on Mondays at 5pm. Sometimes when I can't get out of work early enough the 6pm Zumba class with Veronica on Mondays is awesome too. All of the weekday evening and Saturday morning instructors are AWESOME!!! Also, Norma's toning class is one of the best toning class I have ever been to. She teaches you the proper way to do the exercises while dancing and having fun. read more

I was looking for a Zumba class close to my home and it was actually harder than I thought! I found Corazon online and decided to check it out. I stopped in and was pleasantly surprised. After visiting a few other Zumba offerings, this place felt "different". The ladies are very nice and made sure I felt welcome as a newby. I haven't taken a class with every instructor yet, but so far so good. The price is great and they offer a good variety of ways to pay without any contracts. Bonus! I stumbled across this little dance studio after several months of disappointment at a majorly expensive gym with subpar Zumba instructors. The location is a little sketchy but I don't leave items in my car and always lock my doors. I absolutely love taking Mary B.'s class. She is so nice and really wants her clients to get the best workout. Her enthusiasm is what keeps me going back to Corazon Latino. You won't be disappointed if you take a class with Mary B. but just be prepared to sweat. I would give Mary B. a full five stars! However, I'm only giving the dance studio three stars because there is one issue that stops me from fully committing to routine workouts at Corazon Latino and it's the lack of customer service when you arrive for your class. The receptionist when you first arrive is not the friendliest. They are not completely rude but more aloof and apathetic. It's kind of shame because the instructors are super friendly. It wouldn't be an issue if I didn't have to interact with them but I have to check-in and have my card punched before stepping into a class. read more

The spacious room and dimmed lights make you feel as if you are in a night club, sweating to the beat of the music. I highly recommend Laura's class on Tuesday and Johnny's class Monday and Thursday. I really really enjoyed taking classes at this dance studio. The studio itself is very nice, it's more of a square shape so you don't have to crane your neck too much to see the instructor. The instructor also teaches on top of a small stage which is a plus because it is so much easier to follow someone when you can actually see them. There are mirrors on the front wall and both of the side walls as well as fans which are really great additions. I was only in ATX for 2 weeks for the holidays so I didn't get to try as many classes as I would have liked. I did Zumba and Zumba Toning with Fanny, Marispy and Melody. Both classes were awesome and all of the instructors were superb. The classes can really pump you up and give you a good work out as long as you're willing to go for it. There is a good variety of songs and steps, they definitely change it up so it's not super repetitive. I also really enjoyed the fact that they stick to the more traditional Zumba, such as using more Latin based music and really incorporating salsa, samba, cha-cha etc. into the steps. As for the class size, it can get pretty crowded, but it really depends on what class and what time you are taking it. It's not too bad though, cause no matter what spot you are in you'll have instructor visibility and a decent amount of space to move in. Just come early if you have a preference, especially if you want to be right by a fan. Also, if you want to give Zumba Toning a try, they have the toning sticks and dumb bells available for the students to use in the studio. Just FYI, cause some studios make you buy it first. Prices are very fair, I bought a 10 class punch card for $50.00 but it's $8.00 for a single class, $38.00 for 6 classes and then $69.00 for 1 month unlimited. It's true what the other reviewers say, the location is kind of shady, but honestly I think it's super convenient especially for people who live in South Austin. There is also a decent amount of parking. Whenever I'm in Austin, this will definitely be my go to dance studio! read more

I love Corazon Latino! I've been going for about 6 weeks and have only great things to say. I've attended classes with five different teachers, and while I have my favorites, all the classes have been great workouts with a nice variety of styles. The best thing (aside from the fact that their location close to my house) is that they have really convenient class times if you work during the day. Almost each weekday they have classes at 5, 6 and 7 p.m., plus 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and noon on Saturdays. They also offer a nice variety of other classes like Zumba Toning and Boot Camp if you want a change of pace. I like the 6-class card for $30, but you can also pay $7 per class or pay for an unlimited month. Highly recommended! read more

I came to Austin over two years ago, and even before settling into my new home, I was taking my first Zumba classes at Corazon Latino. I was an avid Zumba student before my move here, and was anxious to continue. From my very first class I was impressed. The studio was bright and clean, the three owners friendly and welcoming, all instructors certified, etc. But what really kept me returning day after day, was the fun I was having! I had been in many Zumba classes from CA to Florida, but had never found such great classes anywhere. And, in addition to the fun and Zumba, I was also losing weight!
