We went here for lunch. The reservation was easy to make (calling the restaurant). The staff were lovely and friendly. The menu is expansive. I would be shocked if someone was so picky as to not find something to eat. The food was good quality. I got the maple hot chocolate and the smoked salmon Benedict with a side of back bacon. I want to share our experience at Cora's Breakfast Pickering today. Extremely Disappointing & Unacceptable Experience today, 22 March 2026 at Cora's - Pickering location I've been a loyal customer of this franchise for over 12 years while living in Pickering, which is why this experience was especially shocking and disappointing. We visited for brunch as a family of three and ordered the Feast for 2 and a brunch burger. The restaurant was busy, but our waitress was efficient, attentive, and very kind throughout the entire ordeal. Unfortunately, halfway through eating my omelet, I cut into it and found a strand of hair inside the omelet. I immediately brought this to the waitress' attention, and she handled it professionally--apologizing and offering to replace the dish. We completely understood that mistakes happen and agreed to a replacement. However, what followed was completely unacceptable. A few minutes later, the waitress returned and informed us that the manager, franchise owner/manager, refused to replace the omelet, claiming instead that only the untouched items (waffle, pancakes, potatoes) would be remade. We were just stunned. We asked to speak to him directly. When franchise owner/manager approached, instead of addressing our concern respectfully, he began raising his voice at the waitress, blaming her for not informing him sooner and that the plate had left the kitchen 8- 10mins ago and that it was her fault. He then argued that the hair could not have been inside the omelet, maybe on the plate and attempted to explain the cooking process--completely dismissing our experience and what we had clearly seen. His tone was arrogant, dismissive, and unprofessional--not only toward us as paying customers, but also toward his own staff, the waitress who was more professional than he was. At that point, we had completely lost our appetite. The idea of eating anything from that plate--regardless of what portion was "affected"--was just unacceptable. We asked for the bill instead. Suddenly, franchise owner/manager changed his stance and offered to remake just the omelet, insisting the rest of the plate was fine so he could not replace that. This inconsistency only added to our frustration and disbelief. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, we were still charged for the full Feast for 2, which was the contaminated dish we had returned. When we politely requested it be removed from bill, francise owner/manager refused again. After more back-and-forth (which we wanted to avoid in a busy restaurant), he reluctantly applied only a 50% discount--meaning we were made to pay for the omelet with hair in it, as the rest of the plate was untouched. Let me be clear: This is not just about a mistake in the kitchen--those happen. This is about how the situation was handled: with arrogance, lack of accountability, and zero regard for hygiene standards or customer experience. Even more disappointing, when we mentioned we would leave a bad review, the owner's response was: "Do whatever you want, I don't care." That alone speaks volumes. I truly feel for the waitress handling our table, who remained apologetic and professional despite being publicly blamed and put in an uncomfortable position. After over a decade of being a customer, this experience has completely changed my perception. I will not be returning, and I strongly urge others to reconsider until management learns basic customer service, accountability, and respect. TO THE OWNER of Cora's Pickering: Your behavior today was unbelievable, you need to try harder, be better, show some respect to your employees and paying customers and please enroll yourself in customer service & hospitality. Dropped by at 6:30 AM on our way to Ottawa. We were the first one to arrive and they making the coffee when the 1st customer comes in so it will be fresh. We ordered the 2 eggs 2 sauage breakfast and the bagel with mixed fruits. The egg sauage breakfast is ok. But the Mixed Fruit is great! Awesome! Wonderful! There are so many different fruits there - strawsberry - Kiwi - Mango - Red Apple - Green Apple - Star Fruit - Cantuople - Honey Dew - Grapes The presentation is great. This is the only restaurant that I been to that offer all these fresh ones...! This is what I call variety and freshness.. It took a long time to arrive though... since they have to cut up the fruits when I place my order. I wish I can have a fruit cup everyday... it is both delicious and healthy! Although I've lived in this area for 21 years, this was my first visit to this location of Cora's. I had the Beef-Beef Skillet which includes beef strips, beef patty, potatoes, hollandaise sauce, toast, and an egg. It was tasty and very filling but $40 for breakfast for two people is a bit steep. I came here for breakfast a while ago and not only did the food taste good but the waiter was very nice to me and my family. I came for breakfast here and our server was one of the nicest waiters I have ever met. He always had a nice tone to his voice every time he spoke to us and had a sample on his face. Cora's has a smoothie bowl now!! No acai unfortunately but still great! It's a nice change from all the carb heavy and meat options available. The smoothie base is a kale and mango (but you can't taste the kale) topped with granola, bananas, chia seeds, strawberries and coconut chips. The bowl was just the perfect amount of food for me - very light and refreshing. Would definitely order it again although I'd love to see more options for the base smoothie. read more

The portion is sufficient for my big appetite! My other favourite is the french toast brioche, absolutely heavenly! I would order it more often if it had more meat sides and home fries. Their lunch skillets are very tasty as well! I have had the chicken skillet which comes with soup or a juice. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the blueberry pancakes. I prefer crepes so the pancakes were too doughy for my liking. The dishes range from $9 and more, with two people going our bill is always over $30. I met some friends here that were visiting from Ottawa. We went with our baby in the stroller and they sat us at the very back due to the stroller. Our baby was sleeping in the stroller and they asked us 5-6 times to move the stroller. Our stroller was between our table and the empty table next to us. The entire back section was empty but yet they still had a problem with a stroller being in the empty back of the restaurant. Each time, I responded asking where they would like me to seat my baby that cannot sit up? Eventually we had to move our stroller against the wall at the back and I had to hold my baby while eating. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and there were shells in it. I don't think it's acceptable for eggshells to be in a dish, especially from a breakfast restaurant where you think they should know how to crack an egg. I am completely disappointed with the quality of service and food. I arrived at 9am this morning because my son was so excited to have pancakes and he wanted to go to Cora's because we had a better experience than today. Here is what happened 1. We were served our drinks and ordered with a pleasant experience. 2. I noticed the family that came 15 minutes after us that sat in the booth beside had ordered and then got their food and drinks before we even got our food when we arrived prior. 3. I questioned our server Dave about what was the delay and he told me short staff and he would look into it. 4. Waited another 5 minutes to finally get our food that had a poor presentation as when my plate arrived it literally looked like the chef dump everything on my plate. I ordered sausages, 2 eggs and toast - not a hard meal to create. 5. The amount of scrambled eggs on my plate looked like one egg, the potatoes on my plate had a combination of half were burnt and half cooked. My sausages were burned on one side and not cooked completely cooked and my toast was practically burnt and hard - I wasn't happy 6. I called Dave back and wanted to speak to the manager 7. A woman came who wasn't the manager and she clearly could see my food was burned and I wasn't happy with the service or presentation of the food. She DID NOT offer to replace my food but told me to wait as she was going to inform the manager. She stated the manager was too busy to attend to any customers. 8. Sitting down for another 15 minutes waiting for this woman that was supposed to be getting the manager, I was not happy that she didn't return so I had to call another employee to get my bill. 9. I tracked the woman down and she presented me with a full price bill to pay and with no apology yet for the poor service. 10. She offered me a $10 gift certificate which I told her I wasn't coming back to use and she then ignored me and passed me on to another employee to pay for my bill. She once again told me the manager was too busy to hear my complaint. 11. At the cash, I told the cashier I was not willing to pay for my meal that was not cooked properly but would pay for the rest of the bill. I told her I wanted to talk to the manager. The cashier told me I had to pay for my meal in full and that the manager was too busy to speak to me. At this point, I am beyond frustrated as she was not willing to give me the head office phone number or manager to speak to. I told her once again I am not happy with the service or my food and then she decided to walk back to the kitchen area and get the manager. 12. Finally the manager came out and he asked what was the problem. I informed that my food was poorly cooked and the service was not up to par. His response to me was " Then just leave". He took the bill and with his wrist and hand flicked myself and my family to in his exact words " just leave". He walked away and I was SHOCKED with the rude, attitude and behaviour of someone at management level. You need to properly train your managers to apologize and not be RUDE to your customers. I am 100% not happy with this service and you need to be aware of this as a franchise owner. read more

The amount of fresh fruit that accompanies each meal is astounding. As for favourites, I would have to say their Yogurt Harvest Crunch, Spinach Crepe and Tuna Melt are on top for me. read more

However at this location, it is so busy that it takes a while to get a table and service is quite slow. You probably won't even be able to get your waiter's attention. I would not recommend this Cora's to any friends or family. They have one of the worst intensive, customer based, systems I have ever seen. I have never been so disrespected by employees who make you feel small, and over worked. 1 Host on the weekdays, are you kidding me? Not being able to get to guests at a proper time, and give them the best experience is so disappointing and management does not seem to care. This is "supposed" to be a family setting restaurant and they seem to have a hate for high chairs, and strollers. I feel so sorry for the people that had their breakfast disturbed because of the restaurant feeling threatened by a new born in a stroller and new mother. Plus, making hosts do all the work for the smallest amount of pay, yeah no thanks. The abuse you get from servers yelling at hosts and kitchen staff absolutely destroys the family atmosphere and it got old having to apologize to guests for the treatment of having their breakfast interrupted by yelling and demeaning behaviour. Found hair in my food at Cora's in Pickering this morning. They did not handle it appropriatly unfortunalty. I go to Cora's in Pickering fairly regularly with my daughter for breakfast always been a good experience. When I found the hair mixed in with my hollandaise sauce this morning I showed the waitress (who was very nice by the way) and she took it and had the kitchen redo my meal. By the time I got my meal my daughter had ready finished hers so I asked them to pack mine to go. Got the bill and no kind of discount as applied. I mentioned this to the waitress and her response was that they redid the meal for me. So I guess I was supposed to thank them for not making me eat food with hair in it? I said that a discount would be nice. She went to ask the manager who gave me a $5 discount. I feel under the circumstances, first finding hair in my food and then having to wait for it to be redone and therefore tainting my breakfast experience with my daughter a offering my meal for free this time might have been a nice gesture.
