It was going to be a great night at Cora's . We have been here before about a year ago. This time it wasn't good . Appetizers were good . Waitress/ waiterStaff need to be retrained. Never once came back to the table to refill water. When we asked for suggestions on appetizers and Main menu items, staff really didn't have any suggestions they said, because their menu always changes . Ordered a steak, medium rare. It came out well done ,had to send it back. The steak is only about 3/4 thick if that . Only had 4 other tables occupied in the entire place. Drinks were very slow . That should have been a sign. The bill came to the table before we even received dessert and we did not ask for the bill . The restaurant is very clean and nice. read more

So we went here for brunch for Father's Day. The food was simply amazing. I had the Beef Wellington sandwich and the grits. (Better than Gordon Ramsey's ) Hell's Kitchen Vegas. We went for a late valentines day brunch on Sunday Feb. 18th. It was amazing. Had the pleasure of visiting this quaint restaurant while in town and really loved the intimate vibe. Perfect for a date nite or anniversary dinner. The portion sizes were very small though and drinks a bit not too shelf. My lemon drop martini was weak but they fixed it with the cosmopolitan. I came here last year just for breakfast. The decor, staff, and food are still on point. Not many people eating at 0930 but the jazz music was a plus. I am seriously in love with the decor. I had the Cora's breakfast and so did my friend. The only difference is she got wheat toast and I got the biscuit. Plenty of food. Price is good maybe a little bit more but you get a relaxing atmosphere and you definitely do not get the buffet bar craziness at the casino. Located a few blocks from the main gate of Kessler. I'm in town for work and staying nearby. Cora's at White House looked very nice from the outside, so thought I would give it a try for a nice meal after a long day of work. For starters, it has a very uncomfortable vibe. No music, very quiet, not busy. I sat at the bar and ordered a drink. The female bartender never served me, instead only focused on a group of men at the bar. I ordered with a different bartender. He served me, but was extremely rude. They were overly nice to another group of men that came in. Ordered an entree, and it didn't come out for 45 minutes. There were only 4 other people at this place! Asked for water. Same female waitress never brought it to me. I've never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant before. Horrible horrible service. Only giving this 2 stars because the risotto was decent. We came to Biloxi for a little weekend getaway and could not find reservations anywhere! We finally decided to give this little restaurant a try and I'm so glad we did! DRINKS: We tried quite a few. First the old fashion, like expected was strictly whisky. Could have used a bit more bitters and simple syrup, but overall a good choice. The princess martini was delicious. Super fruity, but not overwhelming. The waterlily would have been better if I didn't have the princess martini first. I would not recommend getting it after a sweeter drink. It's too refreshing to follow up. APPS: Seafood gumbo was tasty, but it was not traditional. It was a mix between the seafood and chicken. It came out very hot and I enjoyed the cornbread that came with it. The brussel sprouts were one of a kind and had a kick to them! I was super surprised by the Asian chili glaze! Would recommend. This was honestly one of the weirdest dinners I've had in recent memory. My boyfriend and I were staying at the White House and stopped into the restaurant for an early dinner. We were ushered to a pretty large booth, which was honestly great for COVID - but super weird decor. Gave me adams family meets vampire diaries vibes. It was also freezing. Because it was freezing, I ordered a Pinot Noir vs my normal sauv blanc - so I was surprised when a white wine came back out. I repeated my order and they swapped it out, not a big deal. I did like that you can order mini glasses of wine (3oz pours) - that was neat. I could hear the waitress listing the specials in the next vampire den across from us, but the curtains were pulled so I listened in like a creep. I was interested in the cod special. When our waiter came by to take our order, I asked about the specials. He said they had none. I (surprised) said: "really? I thought I heard mention of a cod?" He said "oh yes, we do have cod mmhm - had that last night. It's delicious" to which I replied "ok, but it's not a special.. it's just not on the menu?" To which he once again mmhm'ed me. I got the cod. Food was ok, Brussels were actually pretty good. My boyfriend's red snapper (gulf catch) was a solid 7.5/10. Fries were meh. A table of 18-22 year old girls trying to get after it were seated near us. After trying hard to get served liquor under age with a parent present, the same waiter took their order. I listened in. "Tonight we have a cod special", I heard from afar between drunken giggles and chatter. I'll just leave you all with that gem of an ending. TL;DR I'd recommend ordering from the bar and taking your food out to the porch if you're staying at the hotel - that looked way nicer. Cora's Restaurant in the White House Hotel has delicious brunch options set in a luxurious atmosphere. The decor inside the restaurant is beautiful and the service is attentive. The two entree options we enjoyed, Eggs Point Cadet and Eggs Walter, were incredibly tasty and I would definitely recommend them both! However, their drinks were a little expensive and beware of unexpected upselling. After being suggested a 'bacon bloody mary' by our server, I ordered one only to find that I was charged for a bloody AND a side of bacon making this one cocktail nearly $10. If you are looking for a nice place to have a splurge meal, Cora's is a nice option. If the weather is nice, grab a table on their porch and enjoy the gorgeous view of the Gulf of Mexico! read more

We have a room at The Whitehouse and thought it would be nice to eat dinner here because it is attached. The hotel concierge mentioned the restaurant would be open until 10pm. We went down at about 8pm and the restaurant was empty but we were refused service due to no reservation. I would recommend taking a short drive to Ruth's Chris instead. read more

Dropped by with my partner twice, and only tried the bar (no judgements, please). Once we had afternoon cocktails and the other time we had Bloody Mary's. For the afternoon, we were greeted by Steven/Stephen (not sure on that spelling) and he was personable and very knowledgeable about the spirits behind the bar. It was lovely for an afternoon pick me up. Because of that experience, we came back about a week later for Phat's Bloody Mary's. He was also a very attentive and skilled bartender. Excellent bar and restaurant. The people make all the difference and they have an exceptional group behind the bar. Knowledgeable and friendly. Frank is one of the best but all three of the guys I've seen tending bar are all good at what they do. They recently updated the bar's food menu and I'm including a picture of that. Also if not are the weekly drink specials. Half price martini night on Tuesday. Half price glasses of wine on Wednesday. Thursdays are cheap draft (12oz I believe) pours, which they have a good selection of. Those specials run all night in addition to their happy hour drink specials that run from 4-6. read more

Had a Mother's Day brunch planned to be a special occasion and a special day ... but we never had ice waters or our drink orders taken in 25 mins . It was a buffet style , so that's your one job people! We asked for just the basic service and got horrible service and it's nuts for $175 for 3 people . I stopped by this place for some delicious Sunday brunch and it was a jolly good time with great friends. The hotel that it is located in is beautiful/welcoming. I went with the following items: 1) Blushing Mimosa - Pineapple, OJ & cherry 2) Steak Bennies - (2) 2oz. Cab filets with poached eggs and hollandaise on Texas toast Rounds I really enjoyed both items and wouldn't hesitate to order them again. Those steak bennies were so good especially on top of the texas toast. I've had many different eggs benedict before and the one they serve here is now one of my favorites. The mimosa with those fruit flavors was satisfying. So if you've had a long Saturday night in Biloxi and want some grub before heading back home--I recommend Cora's for a tasty meal. read more

I got a breakfast burrito with grits to go. Not a huge fan of eating by myself so I love take out orders. Which allows me to see if they can do great on that side of dinning as well. The packaging was great. It wasn't all messy or thrown in the container. The burrito was full of flavor and I'd get it again. The grits however were "my kind" of consistency with not much seasoning at all. So actually to be a tad creative I opened up one half of my burrito and mixed it with the grits. It gave it flavor and was pretty delicious. Great pricing in my opinion since I only spent less than $9 and feel like I had enough to eat. read more

They have an extensive infused vodka menu to help their bloody mary game so you won't be disappointed. I went with the Grillades and Grits which were fantastic. A nice little boutique hotel restaurant! The White House is fabulous & Cora's is too! We snacked in the bar at night...they have a wonderful wine list & the prices are reasonable, Belle Glos Pinot Noir $14/5 oz pour! Shared the meat & cheese board...nice selection of Brie, maytag blue cheese & white cheddar accompanied by prosciutto, hard salami & sopprosetta. It was served with homemade toasts, olive tapenade & cherry compote. We also shared the arancini risotto & it was yummy! Had a nice little breakfast this morning. The restaurant is beautiful & the staff was so nice & helpful! I had the fruit plate...a nice mix of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cantaloupe & honeydew sprinkled with a bit of powdered sugar. Ordered a side of applewood smoked bacon that was awesome & came with 4 big pieces, yum! Also had the toast...my mom had the biscuits, they looked so good! Well, the experience I had here was a bit different. The environment looked very classy. Low lights, soft music, decor was very elegant. I expected a very formal experience. I dressed accordingly, sports jacket, slacks, and some fancy shoes. I was greeted by the hostess who voluntarily informed us that they had some regular "Christian" customers that she is seating us next to. So please do not use any profanity, be loud or etc. This left a sour taste in my mouth right off the bat! My good friend was with us and politely informed her that both our families attend church every Sunday. I didn't not know why she felt the need to tell us this, unless she was making the gesture that we were hoodlums. On a lighter note, the menu was very small, but I expected this because the are part of a hotel, and is usually these type of restaurants do not have a large menu, but I do expect their food to be phenomenal. I got shrimp a grit cake for an appetizer, and yes! The credit is given here. I got the fish of the day which was grilled redfish. It was flavored well, but way over cooked. The salad was mediocre. The petite filet was pretty amazing. Tender and juices. Medium rare is how I ordered it and that is what I got, bravo. Our waiter was wonderful and the have an exquisite menu of beer on draft and a plethora of wine. The waiter did recommend the pork chop. My friend got that, but wished he would have gotten the petite filets. Overall, it was mixed emotions. I give it a 3 star. read more

White House / Cora's restaurant Reservation was made at 8:30pm. There were a couple waiting longer than us and they kept telling them 5 more minutes so those 5 minutes turned into more than an hour. We were not sit until 9:20pm. We wait for more than 25 min for someone to come and offer us something to drink, no wine menu offer either, we had to ask for it. Apparently the host told us they run out of silverware and glasses. Not even management came to offer us an apology. Very disappointing. Once they took our order, they come after 15 minutes to tell us they don't have what we order. We did not eat until 10:22pm , 2 hours later. I don't know how they run this restaurant on a busy day like Valentines Day with no silverware and no food,. The only thing I kept hearing in every single table was apologies from management. Very very disappointing. I would like to know if management would offer some kind of compensation for such a terrible experience. Hope someone will reach out to us. read more

The guy bartending, JP had horrible customer service. He was short toned, rude, and was aggressively loud with us when we tried to order or speak to him at all. I would question if he was intoxicated or not, with how angry he was. The two bartenders spent more time complaining about their bosses, fellow coworkers, and being annoyed with large events and kids running around, than tending or talking to anyone at the bar. With the prices being what they are, and it being such a beautiful, historic establishment, its just not worth it for the service I received tonight. read more

Hubby and I dined at Cora's this weekend and had an incredible meal and lovely dining experience. Ashley took impeccable care of us and her suggestions were terrific. The wine list is extensive and they offer 1 oz pours for sampling! I opted to try a couple of reds and finding a great one! Dinner began with two lump crab cakes that were delicious. They were seasoned perfectly. Ideal size for sharing since there were two large cakes. For our main entree I decided to go with the Chef's Black Forest filet mignon special topped with bleu cheese and black cherry glaze! Wow! Perfectly paired with my Roscato wine, sweet potato purée and squash. Hubby had a crab stuffed flounder that was divine! Yes he shared! We finished with coffee and the bananas foster bread pudding. A don't miss if you need something sweet to finish off the meal. This was a romantic yet relaxing meal in one of the most beautiful places on the coast. Plan to spend an hour or more dining. They definitely do not rush you through your dinner here! I love that. The food delivery was perfect, no rush or wait. Stop off at the bar for one of James's specialities on the way out. Had reservations for dinner, we wanted to sit at the bar since they have a different appetizer menu than the restaurant which we find odd that they cannot honor ordering the bar appetizers in the dinning area -strike 1! Sat at the bar, waited over 5 minutes granted there was only 1 bartender working while the other one did disappear acts and was only concerned about these 4 people at the bar. And didn't ask me if I needed help. I asked twice for a drink menu, got delivered the appetizer and dinner menu on both returns.. really?? Testing my patience here and still no water in front of me. When we noticed we were not going to get any service we decided to sit down in the dinning area maybe we would have better luck in there. We were seated quickly! Thank goodness else we would have left at this point. We ordered a bottle of wine that was reasonably marked up, way to go for not robbing the cash flow that wine people have to have when they order bottles of wine at a restaurant. However, it was the last bottle and we only knew it was the last one when we went to order another bottle... ugh. We asked to speak to the manager as we saw a table next to us complain about getting their food last, we were annoyed as they seemed like they were the customers that expected to get something for free. We just wanted to talk to the manager, you would think he would have came by after ordering 3 expensive bottles on the menu. He never did! Poor customer service maybe if I made a scene and complained about my food he would have came by. The food was ok, nothing to really brag about. All cooked with butter and over seasoned. Arrived early and seated by a lovely hostess. No one took our drink order and after 15 mins the hostess asked if she could get us drinks since we still didn't have a waiter or waitress. After 10 mins the drinks arrived and She then asked to take our order since we still didn't have anyone helping us. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! it was our anniversary and we booked three weeks in advance and requested a booth. The hostess gave away the last booth right in front of us and then made excuses when she saw we requested a booth and said, "she thought people would have left by now." The poor server! She had every table in the restaurant. Once we got our initial drinks delivered it was 25 minutes before the kitchen staff came confused with only one of our entrees. She asked us who our server was and we couldn't even tell her. We had not seen her since she brought the drinks. My husband's coffee had been dry for 15 minutes and my juice bottomed out as well. She says she will go to the back and figure it out. My husband has to start to eat without me. About 7 minutes later here comes my food. My bacon was over cooked. My biscuit was crunchy on top and doughy on the inside. The omelet and eggs lacked flavor so we had to ask for salt. The venison gravy was very gamey. Kitchen staff had to refill my husbands coffee. Exasperated we asked for our check. That even proved to be a feat after I told the server that it wasn't that great. She was determined to get a discount . We waited and waited as we needed to get on the road. The manager took $4.25 off the bill. ROFL! Are you kidding me?? The whole damn meal should have been comped and she should have come by the table to make apologies and hear the issues with the food. She was too busy trying to save the shift. The entire place was crashing and burning. Everyone was asking for refills. The couple that was sat before us still had not gotten their food when we were paying. Another couple seated had not been greeted. I went to the bathroom And the manager was delivering a meal To the bar that was also incorrect. The hostess asked us if we enjoyed it and we said we would never come back. She said they had a new chef and to give it another try. It's the management. Don't go here. You would be better off at the Waffle House. The atmosphere was nice but that is about all I can say good about it. I really pity the poor server that is having to wait on the entire restaurant. Well to start off this was our 32 anniversary dinner. They knew we were coming. The hostess was very nice when we got there. That was the highlight of the restaurant. We got there at 7. We were told no pork chops. Okay no big deal. We ordered wine we ask for Monterey Le crèma. They brought us Sonoma. I ordered the ribeye for 56$ it looked like a petite piece of meat with no garnish or anything. Just a piece of small meat on a plate. My side was mashed potatoes. Manager came out and said srry No mashed potatoes. Who runs out of potatoes. My wife ordered steak Cora their signature steak. They brought out steak Walter. They were going to take another 10 minutes to cook her another steak and keep the green beans and my steak warm. By this time it was past 8:00. We decided to leave. I did try to pay for the wine. Great service. Good vibe. The kitchen had troubles tonight. I ordered the half chicken. It was cooked, but the middle was ice cold. It would have been my most recent near-death experience had their chicken not been pre-cooked and chilled or frozen some time in advance.
