I advise looking for a local family owned storage unit on Bainbridge that doesn't cheat and mislead customers.

UHAUL rental We…read morerent trucks probably a few times a year and have used this location three times. They are among some of the worst for customer service, and not reliable. First time I ordered a ten foot truck, called to tell them I would be by a little later than anticipated to pick up, was told they don't have the truck I reserved. Long story short, I found out on the DAY I was to pick it up that that didn't have it. Nobody made any effort to inform me that my reservation could not be fulfilled. This left me scrambling for a last minute truck that could be driven on mountain roads with narrow switchbacks. (POULSBO location has all the trucks and the people who run it are sweet and amazing. I highly recommend.) Next time my husband ordered one from here and no issue. Third time, I returned it and the woman was again rude and was upset we did not have the "mileage and fuel level" for her. I have been told that it is the responsibility of the dealer to document those numbers, and NOT something the customer does bec of fraud issues. Also, she was very upset the blankets were not folded and the truck was not "swept." I moved one kid to a dorm and there was nothing to sweep. NO rainy season, no dirt, just dorm furniture in a parking lot to unload. There was one piece of plastic bag I neglected to remove. In all my years of renting from U-Haul I have never been asked to fold the blankets we PAID for and returned. I was charged over $100 for the "cleaning fee", which was to fold one blanket (bec we only used ONE to wrap a television) and to pick up one small piece of plastic. I've submitted a claim with U-Haul and I have photos of the truck to prove my point. I always take them in case these things happen and being in the legal profession, is always a good idea. I would never rent here and would never recommend anyone ever rent their truck from here. Maybe they have decent storage lockers?

I've had both indoor and outdoor access units and I would recommend both. They are all climate controlled and carefully insulated (and bug-proofed) to protect your property. I had to leave the state for an extended period and came back to a unit still perfectly intact with only a few spiders living near the door. No mildew on boxes, no humidity-warped papers, nada. The location is very secure with keypad code access, full CC camera system, and managers that live on-site. You have access from 6am-9pm 7 days a week whether the office is open or not and there is a bathroom at the office during working hours. The people are fantastic and they do automatic payments for units.

I went into Narrows Self Storage on Friday the 14th to get information about renting a unit that I…read moreneeded for a move on the 23rd. I was given a reservation and told that they'd call me on the 21st, or I could come by on the 22nd to rent the unit. When no one called on the 21st, I came by on the 22nd and was told that my reservation had expired and the unit size I needed was now unavailable. When I tried to investigate what other sizes or options were available, I was told that they didn't want to rent to me because they had seen my car in the parking lot and they didn't want renters "hanging around." (my house is literally right next to the storage location.) When I asked to speak to the manager, the clerk refused to allow it. Their units must be nice because this is the most laughably unacceptable customer service I've ever received in any situation. In 20 minutes I got a larger unit at Public Storage for $100 less per month and nothing but smiles and polite service to go along with it.
