I really don't like this place. It always gets too full, it's hot and sweaty inside, it takes forever to get a drink, and the staff are never in a good mood. The security here are also extremely aggressive and I watched as they continually kept pushing patrons around for little or no reason, really rough like. As a former doorman I was amazed at how unprofessional they were with people and wondered why these people still were able to keep their jobs. The only reason people go here is because for some reason they get to stay open until almost 5am (Google and read up on this). There are plenty of good places to get a drink in Dublin, if I were you I would check them out. Extra late night drinking hours aside, there is nothing spectacular about this place, it's a bit of a kip. read more

Watch your wallet at this place! I don't mean from pick-pockets or average robbers. I mean from the bartenders. I entered Copper Face Jacks one night at about 2 am. Twice in a row, from two different bartenders, I was robbed of 10 Euros each. I gave €20 bills for drinks and was charged as if I had given 10. Each time I pointed this out and each time I was argued with and dismissed as though I were drunk and didn't realize how much I gave. I hadn't had a drink. I had been working all night and I was very conscious of the size of bills I was paying with. I am not unfamiliar with this tactic as I used to work in the bar industry in Los Angeles. When you have a real scumbag bar or nightclub owner, they use every trick in the book to rake in extra money from the customers. Including mis-changing for drinks. I've seen this at several large clubs. They do it at the end of the night when people have usually had several drinks. And the crowd at Copper's is a perfect target for this, being mostly young, very drunk tourists. This sort of tactic on the part of the management is despicable. It's usually only practiced by the most greedy and narcissistic of the bar industry. The owner of Copper's, who's name I won't post (it's easy to find), is one of the richest people In Dublin and seems to be one of these. Shame on you Jack. read more

I went there last year and I had so much fun, came back last night and it seems that all the people who work there are required to be as assholes as they can. You have a lot of guys cleaning every drop of liquid on the floor, happy to be in a clean place but my feet got literally mopped 10 times in the 3 hours I was there, a guy next to me asked them to not clean his feet and he got kicked out of the venue. Bouncers have a neon vest so you can see them around you ALL the time (and they are a lot). I felt I was in high school with some kind of guardians watching us all the time. I understand that being all night mopping a floor or watching hundred of drunk people is not the best job but there is really no need to show that you hate your work that much. At the end of the night I went to get my jacket and a lady was watching/controlling the line and she started to scream at a guy who was doing NOTHING other than being standing up at the wrong place and she started to push him to take him to the exit, she was lucky that the guy was a gentleman and wasn't drunk cause other person would have punch her face. You have to pay €10 to enter and then you are treated like shit, definitely not coming back there. read more

Ah Coppers! For anyone not in the know, Copper Face Jacks in Dublin is famous for being jam packed with people from the country all try to snog one another. Now I'm sure there are city folk here too, but it's just that it's known for being a favourite hang out for the culchies! It's said that if you don't pull in Coppers, well you'll never again pull! It's got a reputation for being full of cops and nurses too and as far as I know it's owned by an ex-cop - hence the name! It's not the worst of places really. If it's that sort of mad, crazy, squashed, sweaty, hangover-inducing night you're in the mood for, you couldn't think of a better venue. I think it's possibly more of a venue for the 20-somethings, rather than the 30-somethings, but at the same time you would come across people of all ages in here. For the love of God why do we do it? It is what it is and I think its impossible to rate. Maybe it reflects really badly on me that I end up here more than any other place.It does. My mates are always here and every going away party or 1 too many pub trips ends here. Ive been drinking lots of jasger bombs all night and right now Im on a massive comedown after a dodgy kebab from a place on the left just past the bleeding horse. Im going to try to stop going here. Most nights are the same ole thing. Outside can be great craic after for some reason. We had come to notice these guys in funny shirts standing outside not drunk picking up women. They talked to us about the book the game. God how bad is that. So many women were giving them their no. and other coppers type stuff. I think the shirts are to start up a conversation. Oh inside coppers is hell most of the time. My mate Barry always gets in free. He has a grumpy way most of the time but he just barges in saying he has to get his drunk friends out. I love this place!!!! It's basically one of the busiest night clubs after 1.30am! Packed nearly every night and is over 19s during the week days, over 21s on the weekend and always bring ID! Their drink promos are ok but they play chart music and I've never had a bad night out here! Though its known for its sleezeleness! But it's some craic and it's a must go to in Dublin! Coppers is the place you go to end the night on a good note. if ya head there then ya might look like bit of a loner as most people dont go till round 11-30. it is open later then normal clubs in dublin. it is a huge clubs with two massive dance floors and a two story smoking area, it has four bars two located on each flooor and two right beside each smoming area. drinks arent two expensive not that that matters two much as ull be dacing the night away anyway. it is the the place were you are bound to find someone who tickles your fancy there. the crowd is a mixed cluture of irish people from farmers to im farely sure i can say laywers. it is a huge club with alot of old school styles of music such as the spice girls, u2 and alot of irish dancing music with most nights been ended with irish national anthyem been sang at the end read more

When I was doing research on going out places in Dublin, everyone recommended that Copper is a must-go place in the city. It is definitely a huge disappointment. My disappointment comes mainly from the crowd and music. I passed by a group of girls dancing in the middle of the dance floor. As I tried to cross to the other side of the room, one of them grabbed my arm and started yelling and wanted to pick a fight for no reason. I met all kind of drunk people but this is literally my first time meeting people this rude. As for songs, Copper's DJ made bad remixes. If you are looking for all time top 40, this isn't the place. Hm well... after being to CFJ only twice I honestly hope i don't have to go there a third time unless I'm held against my will or im absolutely pissed. My first experience wasn't great went with a group got separated and everyone seemed rude didn't feel comfortable night ended. On my second experience was with a group again a birthday this time got lost getting there, line getting in felt like a century then wasn't asked for ID on entry was grand. Got separated from the group getting there then found group again inside this time everyone stayed together in same area at the bar. The drink prices are total madness anyway no surprise. Ended up having a great night also surprisingly, the music was a great mix oldie, modern and some rock. We all spent the rest of the night dancing in a group together was quite fun. At the end of the day CFJ isnt really my cuppa tea but sure just cause its not mine doesnt mean that it cant be anyone else's :) read more

This place is good, but the bouncers there are fucken bastards. I've tried to get in three times and the head bouncer didn't let us in for no reason. They refuse many people for no reason. I've seen many people being refused there. Those fucken bastards should know that they get paid from our money we spend on adimission, drinks, cloak room, etc. Ireland is going deeply into the Recession Crises and those fucken bastards still didn't learn that they need to welcome the party goers. Best nitelcub in dublin, but if you keep goin there again and again you do get sick of it. Best nites are during the week when its a bit less crowed. I wud recommend avoiding it on a sat nite, gets way too busy. Takes ages to get served and smoking is really packed. Though any other nite, good music and good craic to be had! read more

The thing i like most about the coppers is the WOMEN...a man like me enjoys a good woman and where better to find an easy catch then this hotspot...mmmm.. They're all obviously there for a good seeing to so it's great for a boost in self esteem. It is the women that make most of the first moves so dont bother bringing your friend to be your wingman... i never do! Just go out on the dancefloor and within minutes you'll be in heaven. There is nothing good about this place. All the staff have a serious attitude problem. There is a €5 cover charge mid week and €10 at the weekends, which is one of the most expensive in Dublin and for what? Overpriced drinks (€5 a pint), horrific music and a smoking area that is practically in the middle of the club. I was there during the week and handed the cashier a €5 note for a cover charge and forgot to the get the receipt (I hadnt been to the place since August and didnt know I needed one). Bouncer asked for it and I went back to the cashier who still had my €5 in her hand. She denied and denied I gave it to her and instead of being helpful had a serious attitude. I was told I could speak to the manager where he is, but got the signal to pay the €5 or leave from the bouncer. I seriously would never consider going here again. It was my friend's 21st and since she hadn't really planned anywhere to go we decided to go to a few different places to check them out. That's what brought us to Copper Face Jack's in the first place. Ugh. We went here the night there was a Boyzone concert in Croke Park. The place was wall to wall with Boyzone fans and unfortunately the DJ seemed to be inspired by this. We literally could not move for about 10 minutes, crammed up against strangers. It was like being at a bad concert, without the good music or friendly faces. Everyone was pushing and shoving so even though I miraculously managed to get a drink, half of it was spilled all over the place! When we finally made it to the other end of the bar, we figured if we headed towards the smoking area we'd have a bit more space and room to breathe! Wrong. We had to leave after that. I've spent the last 2 years coming here and frankly im absolutely sick of the place. Coppers as its known attracts the same crowd of people every night. Hundreds of young country folk, mainly students or in and around that age group, cram in here every night. They're happy to pay a tenner in and pay the expensive prices for drinks. The bouncers here are awful and seem to go out of their way to make things awkward for people. The plus points are it stays open till late, often half 3, for some reason and the place itself is big (although once it gets to about 1ish you can't move. The smoking area is really big and is a decent place to actually be able to talk to people. Other than that i struggle for good things to say about the place. The bartenders in the upstairs bar (The glass collector with light brown hair and 'wide eyes' and the slightly heavier gentleman with dark brown hair and a piercing I think, serving the drinks) genuinely threatened me last weekend in there for the most bizarre reasons possible. People around me were absolutely taken back and shocked. I thought it was funny to be honest. I asked the bartender for '2 pints and....' but before I finished that sentence he had walked away. I wanted to order two more drinks but he rushed off before I finished the sentence. The man came back and I simply said '....and can I get 2 shots of jager please'. He slammed the pints down spilling a quarter of one, soaking the girl beside me, and genuinely, at the top of his voice, roared the head off me saying 'I'm not f***ing running around the f***ing place for YOU. Who do you think I am?'. I said nothing because he nearly burst a vein he screamed at me so loudly. Then, the glass collector not having heard a word of what happened came out of nowhere and stood in front of me staring extremely intensely at me....literally not batting an eyelid or moving, directly in front of me at arms length. Then he started calling me out screaming 'What?? What?? What are you guna do?' at me. It was genuinely the most bizarre situation I've ever been in in my life. Everyone was taken back and found it sad to be honest. It was sad. They have one job to do and the can't even do that.
