PS: in the business info section there's a box you tick for parking. I ticked 'street parking' which is the truth. But, if you park your car in Temple Bar at night, especially Friday or Saturday, you are a moron. Simple as.

Dark, subterranean, pillars everywhere, lots of creepy shadows-it's really quite cool. And because of it's teeny tiny size everything sounds much louder than it should, throw in a few fancy lights and this is one of the best 'loud music' venues in Dublin. But it's not, I've seen some absolute clangers in here. So I'd advise checking out who's playing before dishing out a cover charge, and maybe invest in some ear plugs too.

Whatever I may say about Dandelion, you'll not get a better deal on the Green and I saw a tanned, chiselled young man handing out flyers to this affect just the other day! We bolted however after about two hours and Dandelion left no great impression except a brief ponder over the wisdom of naming your 'boutique' club after a weed.

On my first and last night: - After 40 mins queue and 10 euro admission we are in... 30 mins queue for coat check. - You have to fight to get to the bar and choose fast coz it's always busy, shots were expensive. They actually mix my drink with some yellow juice from plastic bottle. - VIP was cool but the music it's from the 60s - 70s. - Bar was ok but really busy and everyone it's pushing you the music it's still the same. - Night club looks and smells like hell, HELL, rude drunk old perverts everywhere trying to kiss you or grab you music it's still the same as the bar at this point we are thinking that there is no DJ just a disk. - Unbearably hot security guard who does not speak a word of English. - Suddenly the DJ comes back plays the national anthem and everyone starts sprinting to the coat check... 30 mins queue. Terrible experience..so disappointed how the bouncers treat people at front door..the bouncer did not allow us to go inside telling we didn't have an id..that's acceptable..we cud understand for security reasons but the way he talked was so rude..i dont know if he treats irish the same way.. he presumed himself as the president of this country and appeared to carry 50 kgs in his head.. disgusting idiot bullshit guy...we felt like we were beggars standing in front of their door for food and shelter when we all are from a gud social background..never go back to this idiot place next time even with an Id..on the other hand we were declined to go inside the pub just nearby with the same reason but the bouncer was so good in the way he talks.. read more

Bleh. Just thinking about this place makes me want to take a shower in scalding hot water, brush my teeth 5 times, and maybe even go to the doctor. If you're a girl, expect to be harassed constantly by tactless, slobbering, white-guy dancing drunk idiots. This is the only place I've ever been hit on while sitting on my boyfriend's lap, so don't think you're ever safe here. I guess it could be ok for a girls night out dancing to cheesy music, but there are way better places to do that that don't involve being constantly propositioned to go exchange bodily fluids. They then continued to tell me that it was closed and they weren't letting any more people in. While I stood there, they continued to let other people in. Don't waste your money in there! To make matters worse, she was escorted back in to pick up her belongings and spoken to in the most disrespectful manner. As a result, we all left. So they gave up on this approach shortly thereafter and told everybody to queue to the left. Then they said nobody on the left was getting in. I pointed out that they had asked people to queue on the left but the fella denied it. So we gave up and headed up to The Odeon. It was quite bizarre. They were either completely incompetent or evil geniuses that wanted to get rid of a crowd. I reckon it's the former because the only reason to have turned people away would have been if the club was full and surely they would have just explained that. Anyway, won't be in a rush to encounter those clowns again.

Tamangos (or "Joes" as the initiated refer to it for some reason) has been famous for generations for its 'Grab a granny night'. Back when my oul lad first moved to Dublin, Grab a granny night happened on the second Tuesday of every month, as this is when the mother's of Dublin got their children's allowance, and the only chance of having a few bob to go for a hooley. These days, what with everyone being more affluent (well, for the time being anyway), Grab a grannny night happens every Tuesday, so if older women are your thing, have a ball. Being the only nightclub for a few miles around, Tamangos can charge what they like: it's usually €15 to get into the place, and standard club prices for drinks. It's kind of worth it the odd time though: the place really looks like a cheezy hotel bar. Which it is, so that makes sense, I guess. And now that the summer is here again, they have their student nights on Wednesdays, so it's €10 in and €3 drinks. Which is grand.

The larger "club" space was not open, so we grabbed a table in the bar portion, which is separated by a door. Same place, but different vibes for sure! The bar area was small and quaint, and gave off classic Irish pub vibes more than gay bar, and we liked that energy, especially for a Tuesday afternoon! We grabbed a couple of pints followed by cocktails, and spent close to an hour hanging out and chatting with each other and a few local patrons. The bar itself stayed full, but the surrounding tables were a bit transient with small and larger groups coming through for a drink. The bartender was okay. Hard pressed to refer to him as "mean" or "rude", but he also wasn't super friendly. Cocktail was good and the pint was tasty. Overall, really enjoyed The George and have a deep appreciation for their presence in Dublin! Looking forward to going back and checking out the nightlife this place has to offer!

A whole lot of effort went into the making of this drink and it tasted perfect. As it should for a discounted price of €9! Nice place, very loud, not my favorite of the pub crawl though.

Now I'll be honest, I hated the Palace. HATED IT. But I was pleasantly surprised to find it was actually...ok. It still has many of the fundamental problems the old Palace had. Crap music, overpriced, easy to get lost in etc. But now in the coolest looking club I've ever been in. It looks like it belongs in the Bladerunner universe or something. It still retains the features of an old ballroom but with loads of lasers shooting around the place and big Space Invader-esque screens adorning the walls. It's pretty damn cool. It looks like it would be the perfect stage for a remake of Strictly Ballroom...set in 2139. An epileptic's worst nightmare though.

The bar is rough around the edges, but a decent place to come for some drinks (food is not an option, so far as I know). There is a small billiards table and a couple of fussball tables. A large smoking patio on the upper floor. The comedy club is a classic small space that has been carved out of a couple of rooms. Though the quality of the talent is a bit entry-level (for €12.50 you're not getting Dave Chapelle), by the 2nd half of the sets they are consistently decent. The predictable crowd-work that characterizes the host's performance indicates that few locals come here, nestled, as it is, on the River Liffey, just upstream of the heart of Temple Bar. Drinks are basic but serviceable, though they sometimes run out of basics on their menu. Staff are friendly, in spite of being endlessly put upon by tides of tourists.

I can't say that I was very impressed with it. It was very dense with cigarette smoke and the background music was very loud. Shouting loud. The queue for the bar was a disorganized cluster. Some tables and some seating but lots of standing room. But they do have food.
