The bar, lights not fitting the dour mood.

The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is professional but icy and tired. When the customer has been suffering in homo-desert called Donegal, I expect as warm a hello as the one I've thrown over the bar. When the customer is visiting from another country (in my case, Kahliforneeah) and asks "May I purchase some merch?" And bar tendril goes "Wha?" And I go, "You know - t-shirts, like the one your wearing? You know, merchandise?" And he goes,"Uhh, I dunno" and goes over to an overflowing box of Panti T-Shirts behind the bar - visible to all - and then returns with an open-mouthed "Nawww" I cringe with disappointment. Panti, you are still my number one marriage heroine, but have a wee chat with the staff and give them a raise or a lift or an 18-hour girdle - anything to inject life into these poor folks. I'll go back to the straight Dub bars where I'm welcomed wa

Welcoming and fun times. I love that they have a little smoking patio. Bartender was great and made delicious drinks. I loved everything about this bar and had a great time with my friends here.

Ambience. B Service. B Drinks. A Price. A A good ole fun open gay bar found just one block from the Liffey. Fun music and good mix of people! I've never had bad service whenever it's slow or very busy. You just have to get their attention when you're ready to order. Came on an early 4:30 Guiness break. Good deal! €4.30! And a beautiful pour. Love this bar! I'm a fan.

Ahhhh Pantibar.... The most friendliest and relaxed of all gay bars in Dublin! I HEART this place! The city's only gay owned gay bar. Owned by super duper drag queen Panti. There are so many good points to this bar I feel like I'm about to explode with rainbows, glitter and Liza CD's...... Everyone from the security staff to the bar staff are super friendly and welcoming. €3.50 pints until 8pm. After 8pm you can still buy pints of Tuborg for €3.50. They also have cheap pitchers of beer and promos on cocktails and shorts. If you are a cheap date, you will be an even cheaper date here! ^_^ Panti has her own amazingly entertaining show which is now on Saturdays from 10pm and regularly feature the awesome Bunny, Regina George and Blathaid Mc Gee with sassy musical performances and hilarious movie and TV scenes performed. The fabulous Bunny has her own variety show "The Hutch" on Fridays which feature an array of performances and performers each and every week. Make and Do Do is on Thursdays. I have never been but from what I hear it is Blue Peter with an adult theme. I wont mention the pipe cleaners! Ooops I just did! When there are no shows taking place the music is an eclectic mix of pop, indie, electro, disco, rock.... I was there one night and within a half hour I heard Nine Inch Nails, Lady GaGa, Britney Spears and music from the musical Avenue Q.... Amazeballs! There is awesome drag art across the walls and a very cool Absolute Vodka themed neon display at the staircase. "Woof woof woof" "What the hell is that?" "It's a dog!" "Oh that's Panti's dog Penny....." "Oh how cute" "I know, right?" Penny has a bright red dog house in the bar. She frolics about the place from time to time saying hello. The cuteness..... This only adds to the friendly atmosphere. You get a very mixed crowd passing through the doors of Pantibar. A wonderful mix of gay, lesbian, straight and trans. A welcoming and fun place for everyone!

Throughout the early evening my cohorts went on and on about Pantibar and I was pretty sure they'd be leading me to some seedy strip club somewhere. Color me confused when they kept talking about checking out the stand up comedy, but all fears were assuaged when I arrived at the space and saw that it was just your typical somewhat empty gay bar. We grabbed a drink and went downstairs to check out their new comedy night, which was pretty lackluster. Just a bunch of guys who thought that the more they yelled and cursed, the funnier they'd be. I hate that, and it was a little bit awkward. So back upstairs we went, bellied up to the bar, and ordered a few rounds. And then, what's that?! Is that a doghouse, on stage, all dramatically lit, in a gay bar?! Why, yes it is! And there's Penny, the little dog that lives there and otherwise greets the patrons of this neighborhood spot. Later on a tiny puppy emerged and was smitten. Not sure whether I loved it the most or the giant Dolly Parton artwork on the wall. Because, honestly. Gays + puppies + Dolly Parton = pretty much heaven on Earth.

A very friendly gay bar. We were here to see a friend perform on an open mic night. It was free in for the show and it was a great nights entertainment. Great music before and after the show too. Very cute barmen serving out the drinks, a nice bonus ;) The ladies toilet was very smelly, I had to drop a star for that

Great bar with a nice open layout. Love the LED lamps hanging above the tables. Drink specials are fantastic, given the central location. Pints were €3.70, select cocktails and vodka + splash €5... more than reasonable. Bar staff seem knowledgeable about drinks selection although the one who served me might be a tad surly (but probably just because I'm a minger, can't blame him for that, can we?) Good mixed crowd and the occasional unsuspecting tourist who wanders in wide eyed at the drag queen posters. Toilets are clean albeit freezing, so give the benefit of doubt to the guy next to you by the cubicles ;-)

While most of the reviews speak of the evening crowds and vibes, we popped into The George on a weekday afternoon for a pint. The larger "club" space was not open, so we grabbed a table in the bar portion, which is separated by a door. Same place, but different vibes for sure! The bar area was small and quaint, and gave off classic Irish pub vibes more than gay bar, and we liked that energy, especially for a Tuesday afternoon! We grabbed a couple of pints followed by cocktails, and spent close to an hour hanging out and chatting with each other and a few local patrons. The bar itself stayed full, but the surrounding tables were a bit transient with small and larger groups coming through for a drink. The bartender was okay. Hard pressed to refer to him as "mean" or "rude", but he also wasn't super friendly. Cocktail was good and the pint was tasty. Overall, really enjoyed The George and have a deep appreciation for their presence in Dublin! Looking forward to going back and checking out the nightlife this place has to offer!

I generally do not submit complaints--having worked in hospitality for many years, I understand the challenges of customer service. However, on this occasion, the conduct I witnessed was sufficiently troubling to warrant a formal statement. The barman in question appeared to go out of his way to behave in a rude and openly hostile manner, not only toward myself but toward several other patrons. During the short time I was present, I personally experienced three separate instances of verbal insult. My intention had been simply to enjoy a quiet evening with friends, yet the behaviour displayed made this impossible. One of my companions, who works in the legal profession, noted that the conduct observed could raise issues related to harassment and other potential liabilities. Initially, I assumed his manner might have been intended as humour; however, after observing his interactions with other customers, it became clear that this behaviour was consistent and not directed solely at me. Several newly arrived patrons left shortly after arriving, seemingly as a result of their interactions with this staff member. In total, five customers departed after finishing only their first drink, and I likewise felt compelled to leave. I have never witnessed conduct of this nature in an establishment that purports to offer an inclusive and welcoming environment. The behaviour observed was, in my view, unprofessional and inappropriate for any hospitality setting. I would urge management to take this feedback seriously, as it may only be a matter of time before this staff member's conduct results in a more serious incident or formal complaint. If you want bad service and nasty barman this is your place to visit. This guy Lee should be fired..

What's new--and even more off-putting--is the bar's sudden obsession with virtue signaling. Bartenders now wear overt political merchandise, including Palestinian symbols and watermelon shirts, while serving alcohol all night long. The contrast feels less like thoughtful advocacy and more like performative posturing. It's hard to take the messaging seriously when it's paired with selling expensive cocktails, generating profits for the business, and offering no meaningful engagement beyond surface-level symbolism. Everyone is entitled to their views, but when a bar prioritizes political theater over basic hospitality, it alienates customers who just want decent service and a comfortable, welcoming environment. This modern world makes silence between thoughts or words embarrassing and in someway a poor reflection on your social skills... You could be updating your status but instead you should be looking at the ironed in laughter marks of the auld man to your left chatting to his friend and learn. That to me is what being Irish is. Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

They are situated in the base of a sister restaurant, so from the main entrance the only give away is the neon "shhh" sign that sits over the stairway. Once at the base of the stairs an unassuming bookcase/shelf appears. This honestly got us, as we had no clue this was the entrance at first. We wandered around and into the bathrooms expecting some cool bathroom stall entrance. It wasn't until someone came out from behind the bookcase that we figured it out! We did let the "door" close and played with the art on the wall, including the bronze pig head, which turned out to be the hidden lever! Legit already wowed before entering! Upon entry, you are legit transported into a small speakeasy with a few high tops, a cozy bar and a small dining room beyond the second archway. The walls are stone, the lighting is dim and moody, the woods are heavy, and the vibes are immaculate! We sampled a few house-made cocktails, got an appetizer and a few main dishes. Spent a total of close to 2 hours, which is standard and actually timed. Which makes sense and I like, it keeps things moving, on time and allows plenty of time to soak it all in! The Jolly Roger and Espresso Martini were my cocktails for the night. There was a clear theme with both, as stout and espresso were highlights in both. For the app, we went with the fritto misto, which is a combination of fried cheese and veggies. Our mains were both pasta dishes. They were light and simple, yet complex and robust. They were tasty and impressive! Service was stellar from entry to exit. The host's, bartenders and our server were all top notch, friendly, helpful and a joy to interact with! Oh, I do highly recommend reservations! They are a small and very in demand spot, so trying to walk-in is a bit risky. Overall, we absolutely loved our evening at The Blind Pig!
