But Romeo, even though he is only 8 months old, is friendly, loving, and manageable with me, but overwhelming with company. So, when I realized I was dreading having company, it was then I knew I needed help, ok, I was almost desperate so here we are...LOL Here is what I love about Candice's system: First off, she comes to your home to evaluate the whole situation. She did not rush me; she took her time. This is big because, in the end, our dogs have to come back and live with us. Candice keeps in contact with you during the 2-week process. Being from Belton, Texas/Central Texas, she is very close to me. She made home visits during the training, bringing him to me so we could work together with his new skills, too. There are children at her home, so he was socialized with children, which is critical in having a family dog. I love that she took him to public destinations, too. Especially since we are working on him being my medical service dog as well. I am very happy with the results. I see a huge difference in his overall behavior, and so do all of the victims of his overwhelming affection prior to the training. Something else, not only does she know her business, but I enjoy working with her. Candice is very personable and warm. I really like her as a person, too, not a need but a great added bonus. Because I purchased the 2 week boarded training, I get unlimited private lessons. Bonus for sure, because no matter how well-trained our puppies are, we can have slips here and there. Lastly, she delivered him sparkling clean and deshedded... another HUGE bonus for me.

Mark was suggested to us by another trainer in the area, and I think it speaks volumes to his skill that other trainers think of him. Mark is so patient and communicates in a way that is easy to understand, for us and our dogs. He does his utmost to identify the individual strengths and weaknesses for our pups, and helps us acquire the long term tools that we need to continue to lead them. It's obvious that he genuinely cares about our dogs as if they were his own, and he truly lights up when he's working with them. We'd also like to give a shoutout to Mark's son, who helps out with training and showed such great affection for our pups. We cannot speak highly enough of our entire experience with M Pack Dog Training and would happily tell anyone who works with them that they're lucky to have their help. Thank you Mark & Co!

She also came to us thinking other dogs were food not friends (she needs to hear the sharks in finding Nemo again apparently.) After nearly 4 weeks of board and train, Cammie is learning to peacefully (and obediently) coexist with the littles. I am so proud of my pup and in awe of Marissa and Nina for the profound difference in Cammie's confidence and ability to follow direction. She is so happy with her new found calm state that all I can say is that I wish I had dropped her off sooner!! They come to you to pick up your pup and provide progress reports along the way. They are truly dog whisperers so if you have any training needs, they are the ones to call!

We adopted a Belgian Malinois from a local rescue and started working with another trainer as soon as we brought him home. I can't tell you how many times I tried to walk this beast and would come home crying because "I will never be able to just go on a leisurely walk with him!!" We then met a man with a malinois also who raved about Nina, so we decided to give her a call. Ladies and Gentlemen, not only does our dog now have amazing recall, he walks beautifully on a leash but is actually able to be an off-leash dog most of the time! Having a working breed dog is not something that most trainers are used to working with (and no, a lab isn't the same as a malinois). Nina knew exactly what to do with our pup and gave us all the tools we needed to make him a happy, well trained dog.

The owner/trainer, Schanece Gangloff, was very responsive until I paid the invoice for the package…read moreI wanted. Then I felt like I had to chase her down to get my first appointment scheduled. The day of the appointment came and she messaged me on Facebook (instead of calling or even texting, which seemed odd since she isn't responsive on FB messenger herself) two hours before the appointment to say she had car trouble. She said she would contact me that afternoon to reschedule. Okay, it happens. Afternoon passed with no contact. Finally, at almost 8 pm, I texted her to say I hadn't heard from her. By 10 am the next day, I still hadn't heard from her. My husband called to no answer. I messaged her again to say that I wanted a refund because I felt this was unprofessional. She responded basically immediately to that, but ignoring what I said about the refund. I reiterated that I would like a refund. She refused, saying that she does not give refunds for training. This seemed outrageous given that we hadn't even begun training, and it was her unprofessional behavior that led me to request the refund. She insisted we reschedule. She did not apologize for telling me that she would contact me the previous afternoon and failing to do so. She insisted that we make the appointment for the following day, which was my 3 year wedding anniversary, which I told her. At this point, I'm tired of dealing with her unprofessional-ism. I clearly state that I am no longer going to deal with this or be the point of contact, my husband will. She says she's free for him to call now. Again, this is a little irritating because he had already tried calling her that morning, so 1) she has his phone number, and 2) I'm not sure why she expects him to be free when she's free when she can never respond promptly. Anyway, my husband is diplomatic and agrees to train our dog with her instead of me, and he schedules for the next day as she was pressing for. They agreed on 2:30 pm on May 19th. The morning of May 19th, she messages me (again on Facebook, instead of calling or texting him) asking to change the time to earlier in the day. He contacts her, says we cannot and they agree to keep it at 2:30 pm. My husband busts his behind the rest of the day getting things we needed done before the appointment. At exactly the time she was supposed to be at our home, she texts him saying that we are confrontational and she doesn't want to work with us and will be issuing a refund. To recap: We wanted a refund because she was unprofessional (let's recap how she is unprofessional: by not responding, by canceling last minute, by trying to reschedule the time last minute, etc) and she flat-out refused and essentially forced us to work with her or go through with a dispute or legal proceedings. My husband agrees to continue the process, and then at the exact time of their appointment, she cancels. I've honestly never encountered a small business owner who was so difficult to work with and so unprofessional. I try to support small businesses as much as possible, and this was just an extremely sour situation. I do not recommend in the slightest.

TL;DR: Our dog got parvo from this person's home and picked up no extra training from a 4-week long…read moreand quite expensive board and train program. Although our 1 year old German Shepherd Mix already had basic manners, my husband and I were hoping he would benefit from additional training. Schanece G. owns and operates Freedom Dog Training, which offers a board and train service and/or group sessions. Unfortunately, we never made it to those included-in-our-package group sessions. We spent over $1000 on a 3-week immersion training program for our sweet 4-legged boy at Schanece's home. Things got weird when Schanece texted me saying she needed "more time due to the weather and other events" they had going on, so she needed an additional week of our dog's food. Our pup ended up coming back acting the exact same as before, which I do understand that properly training your dog takes consistent work and practice, but I was underwhelmed with his progress. Schanece also offers boarding at her home, which if you must do training with her, please don't board your dog there. When I dropped him off, she mentioned that she had EIGHTEEN other dogs at her home that weekend, which unless you have the proper space and extra hands to help with them, you should never even agree to that. We picked him up afterwards, and he seemed okay at first, just the normal worn-out and tired way he is after playing all weekend. The next morning, our poor dog was vomiting and had bloody stools, and ended up being diagnosed with parvo. Luckily, he made it out okay and is just fine. Also, I figured I would mention that I put down a deposit of $60 for future boarding that we had planned out, but after the parvo incident and her home being overrun with animals, we decided better of it. She also misplaced my dog's reusable food/overnight bag and when we had to ask her for it, she went and got it, it was filthy and covered with dirt, who knows why... Schanece never mentioned a WORD about keeping that extra cash, or the fact that we never brought our dog to any of her group training classes, which were included in the training fee. I guess her family really needed that extra money, and hopefully it goes towards a house-cleaner or a better boarding facility. It's also funny that their Facebook page won't let you leave a review, wonder why. There are plenty of other reputable dog-training companies in the Fort Hood area. Please consider any of them instead of this scam of a company.
