We had our dogs in the car, so we quickly needed a safe place we trust to keep our dogs. Based upon Yelp reviews, plus the advice of a local business owner, we chose Barking Oaks. Our dogs were understandably nervous and confused, and we were also emotional, but the staff here put us all at ease. They kept all three dogs in an area by themselves and worked to ensure they were comfortable while we waited for more family to arrive and take them safely home. I'm not sure how other places handle it, but there's never been an issue if we picked her up early or needed to adjust our days. Our dog is timid with people, and I took her to our vet for daycare when we first adopted her. After the first visit she never wanted to go back in the building, but she goes crazy when we get to Barker Heights. She loves it there.

BUT because they have her on camera walking normally out of the facility when I picked them up, they are refusing to take responsibility. My dog was lifted in and out of my vehicle by me, my dog has not been subject to any unusual day to day activities since I picked her up. She started exhibiting her symptoms as soon as we got home. Previous stays have resulted in Urinary tract infections in both my dogs on separate occasions which leads me to believe my dogs weren't getting adequate water and their room wasn't kept adequately clean. BUT the owner of the facility basically told me I was a crappy per owner and they could have come to boarding already sick. (Total bs). My Great Dane has come home with screaming raw abrasions on her elbows more than once and I'm pretty sure it's because they remove all bedding from the room HOURS before they get picked up and she is forced to lay on the concrete. I tried to voice each concern with the owner separately in a phone call, not only was he flippant and rude, he barely let me get a word in edgewise over his constant excuse making. He pretty much told me to never bring my pets back to the facility as they'd be better off without my business, and I sure as hell won't be! I worked for a 13 room luxury boarding facility for 2 years before we moved to Texas. Never in my life have I dealt with someone so nasty and rude.

While we had to wait to get Harvey in, the wait was WELL WORTH IT! The training she provided for Harvey (and us each week) was invaluable. She spent many hours training him at New Vistas, and in various locations engaging with different people to work on his reactivity challenges. Over the summer I added a 4th dog, Tiffany, and that totally changed the dynamic of my household. After a few sessions with the group as a whole Tiffany spent the month of December boarded with Julie. This was the game changer. We honestly didn't know if Tiffany would make it past day 1 because she was so attached to me. After her daily sessions with Julie she was a new dog. She's confident to be alone, plays well with the other dogs and is the sweetest thing ever. I truly believe Julie made this happen for us and I am thrilled with the results. She did not rush me; she took her time. This is big because, in the end, our dogs have to come back and live with us. Candice keeps in contact with you during the 2-week process. Being from Belton, Texas/Central Texas, she is very close to me. She made home visits during the training, bringing him to me so we could work together with his new skills, too. There are children at her home, so he was socialized with children, which is critical in having a family dog. I love that she took him to public destinations, too. Especially since we are working on him being my medical service dog as well. I am very happy with the results. I see a huge difference in his overall behavior, and so do all of the victims of his overwhelming affection prior to the training. I responded to his advertisement and tried to get service. I spoke with him about his services and do I need to make an appointment. He said he takes walk ins. All I wanted was a nail trim for my dogs. I called ahead of time to let him know that I was on my way he was never available. So after two weeks of trying to get service to no avail I called and spoke with him again. I expressed my concerns about how his lack of commitment to his customers he apologized for the inconvenience and he would give me a discount for the nail trim. I made the appointment for the mobile service. He canceled on me the day of the appointment. Im a very patient person so I gave him another chance because he had family issues, however I called today to see if I could bring my dogs in as a walk in. His staff said he's been sick for three weeks and she can't do large dogs because she's been bitten before. I informed her that I my dogs aren't aggressive and they have had they're nails done by professionals without incident. I take them to petsmart for nail trims. I was just trying to save money because petsmart is expensive. She basically said she didn't want to provide me with service. I couldn't believe he has someone who's afraid of doing a trim on large dogs. If she can't provide the services they offer then she shouldn't be there. Im done with posh paws for they're lack of customer service and lack of competent staff. They wasted my time after I had given them many changes to provide services to my pets. All she did was make excuses for her incompetence as a dog groomer. Do not waste your time with this business. I will not recommend anyone to mobil posh paws for grooming services. They do offer boarding services. Maybe they should stick to that service. Customer service sucks.

After nearly 4 weeks of board and train, Cammie is learning to peacefully (and obediently) coexist with the littles. I am so proud of my pup and in awe of Marissa and Nina for the profound difference in Cammie's confidence and ability to follow direction. She is so happy with her new found calm state that all I can say is that I wish I had dropped her off sooner!! They come to you to pick up your pup and provide progress reports along the way. They are truly dog whisperers so if you have any training needs, they are the ones to call!

We adopted a Belgian Malinois from a local rescue and started working with another trainer as soon as we brought him home. I can't tell you how many times I tried to walk this beast and would come home crying because "I will never be able to just go on a leisurely walk with him!!" We then met a man with a malinois also who raved about Nina, so we decided to give her a call. Ladies and Gentlemen, not only does our dog now have amazing recall, he walks beautifully on a leash but is actually able to be an off-leash dog most of the time! Having a working breed dog is not something that most trainers are used to working with (and no, a lab isn't the same as a malinois). Nina knew exactly what to do with our pup and gave us all the tools we needed to make him a happy, well trained dog.
