We went to the park with my daughters new Corgi pup for an extreme sniff a walk. Willa did such a great job meeting the new pup and pack walking with this sweet puppy yapping in her face asking if she wants to play!! We finished our day going to Hat Creek and having lunch on the patio. Being on the patio made Willa Bee a bit nervous with all the kid and environmental sounds. It was difficult for her to "leave it" with all the food crumbs on the floor. This outing certainly showed me areas that we need to work on. None of this would be possible without Copilot Academy/Ashley three months ago. Thank you so much! We've come a long way baby!!! But, we still have a ways to go! We will get there! I cannot say enough good things about James Hamm and Lone Star Dog Training. From the very…read morebeginning, I could tell how much James loves what he does and how deeply he cares for the dogs in his program. My dog Watson just completed his training, and the difference is incredible. He's more focused, well-mannered, and confident -- even on our very first walk after coming home, I could see the progress. What I appreciate most is that Watson wasn't just taught commands, he was exposed to so many situations and experiences that will help him handle the real world with calmness and confidence. I am so thankful I chose Lone Star Dog Training. Unlike franchise programs where trainers often come and go, here Watson had consistent, dedicated training with the same people every day. That made all the difference. I know he was in the best care, and I feel supported moving forward in keeping up with what he's learned. If you're considering training for your dog, I can't recommend Lone Star Dog Training enough. Watson and I are both better for it!

Harvey was starting to have guarding and reactivity issues, so we had to step-up the training. Julie at New Vistas was recommended by a friend, so we called her up for help. After discussing his issues, she provided a very thorough consultation and we opted to move forward with the month-long 'Board and Train' immersive. While we had to wait to get Harvey in, the wait was WELL WORTH IT! The training she provided for Harvey (and us each week) was invaluable. She spent many hours training him at New Vistas, and in various locations engaging with different people to work on his reactivity challenges. While training him, she also equipped us with techniques to better manage him. Julie's training style, professionalism and admiration of dogs is what really sets her apart. We trust her wholeheartedly with our dog, and couldn't recommend her training services more. Thank you Julie!!

She was also a runner and escaped every chance she got. Within a few sessions this dog had totally changed. She's bright, energetic and happy. And we can let her off leash and not worry about her bolting from us. However, more personal to me are my 4 rescue dogs. Over the summer I added a 4th dog, Tiffany, and that totally changed the dynamic of my household. After a few sessions with the group as a whole Tiffany spent the month of December boarded with Julie. This was the game changer. We honestly didn't know if Tiffany would make it past day 1 because she was so attached to me. After her daily sessions with Julie she was a new dog. She's confident to be alone, plays well with the other dogs and is the sweetest thing ever. I truly believe Julie made this happen for us and I am thrilled with the results. I highly recommend Julie to anyone looking for training for their dogs from potty training, walking loosely on leash, stay commands, come, fearfulness, you name it and she does it. You won't be disappointed!!! And your dogs will be so much happier after working with her.

We were completely amazed with the progress he made during his stay; all of his habits we'd hope to break and the new ones we hoped he'd gain (jumping up on visitors, begging, off-leash training, walking, fetch, recall, sit, stay, lay down, go to your bed, and so many more) far exceeded our expectations. She not only did an amazing job with his training but also including him as her family, and introducing him to several different environments that we never expected. She introduced him to children, strangers, dogs, and cats. I can't speak highly enough of the training Diezel received during his stay with Katie and her family. We will always hold our dogs to this standard now and will definitely be using Katie for our future pups. BUT because they have her on camera walking normally out of the facility when I picked them up, they are refusing to take responsibility. My dog was lifted in and out of my vehicle by me, my dog has not been subject to any unusual day to day activities since I picked her up. She started exhibiting her symptoms as soon as we got home. Previous stays have resulted in Urinary tract infections in both my dogs on separate occasions which leads me to believe my dogs weren't getting adequate water and their room wasn't kept adequately clean. BUT the owner of the facility basically told me I was a crappy per owner and they could have come to boarding already sick. (Total bs). My Great Dane has come home with screaming raw abrasions on her elbows more than once and I'm pretty sure it's because they remove all bedding from the room HOURS before they get picked up and she is forced to lay on the concrete. I tried to voice each concern with the owner separately in a phone call, not only was he flippant and rude, he barely let me get a word in edgewise over his constant excuse making. He pretty much told me to never bring my pets back to the facility as they'd be better off without my business, and I sure as hell won't be! I worked for a 13 room luxury boarding facility for 2 years before we moved to Texas. Never in my life have I dealt with someone so nasty and rude.

I asked the woman who checked me out, how long had my dog eye been oozing the stuff and she said I just got back let go ask. She returned and told me that no one noticed anything. I then asked, so my dogs had no interaction with other dogs per my request, did they not have interaction with the staff. I called my pets veterinarian office in the presence of the same staffer who checked me out. I paid $75.00 for an emergency visit. Upon completion of my visit to the veterinarian, I returned and told the same woman my dog has an eye infection which she did not have when I dropped them off. I presented her with the receipt from the visit and requested reimbursement. She said she'd let the owner know. NO ONE FROM THE ESTABLISHMENT HAD THE COURTESY To CONTACT ME AND ASK HOW MY DOG IS DOING. Jerome the owner requested that I get my dogs veterinarian to write something stating that they caused the problem. REALLY? They identified the problem and treated my dog along with prescription. My biggest problem is no staff could say when they first saw the problem with my dog. They had my veterinarian information they had 2 different contact phone numbers . I left a small bag of IAMS dog food , when I picked my dogs up I was given the bag of food almost with the same amount of food in it. Both of my dogs lost 1 1/2 - 2 pounds and I have the proof. It's very obvious they weren't fed as I informed they are self fed. Bottom line, Board here and hope nothing happens. Lesson learned, I'll board at the luxury pet hotel next time. They give you a link to your dogs room and because they have nothing to hide, you can check in on your pet children at any time and see how they are doing. It will be worth it.
