Lost in mayaguez (Left) and coquito matcha (right)

Great matchas with strong matcha flavor and unique matcha lattes, many inspired by puerto rican flavors. Service was extremely friendly and accommodating-- I asked for my matcha extra strong as I am a daily drinker and they definitely delivered! You can tell their syrups and add ins are high quality and are probably made in house. I ordered the lost in mayagüez and it was only subtly sweet despite being presented very beautifully with mango syrup and the blue agave whip. The matcha was more on the nutty and somewhat vegetal side, but with very little astringency. My friend ordered a coconut milk latte with a coconutty cold foam and cinnamon on top (unfortunately forgot the name) that was a bit sweeter but still had great flavor. Though lattes are pricier around $11-12, you aren't getting a milkshake with the suggestion of matcha like you do at most cafes-- this is the real deal. It is also a family run establishment with a warm atmosphere and obviously lots of love and heritage reflected in the aesthetic decor despite the place being quite small. The place is also dog lover friendly (Cooper being the name of the owner's dog) and they do donate part of their proceeds to strays in Puerto Rico. As someone who loves matcha and dogs I loved this place, and can't wait to continue to support them!

finally checked out Coopertine Matcha and they have Puerto Rican inspired flavors like Coquito, Passion Fruit, Coconut and more! The staff here was so kind and lovely. I love that you can watch your Matcha being made. I ended up getting a strawberry matcha, which had a beautiful strawberry puree and that matcha was strong (as it should!). It was very delicious especially with the topped sea salt cold foam. my only complaint was the price - $12 for a matcha is insaneeeeee but i do understand they are sourcing really high quality matcha but this is also not something everyone can afford.

Love that a local matcha place opened up in Granby! As the rise of matcha has taken over, I can't be happier that there are more options to try. I've recently gotten into making my own matcha with ceremonial grade matcha, so it's nice to see that the matcha was being made in a chawan with a whisk instead of a frother! With making my own matcha, I know how expensive good quality tea can be. That being said, we spent $24 on two drinks which won't make this our daily routine. It's a nice treat as they offer unique flavors like caramelized banana, topped with a blue cold foam. So glad matcha is making its way around and I hope more places are adopting the traditional method of matcha making!

First off, it's definitely one of those small, tucked-away spots you could easily miss if you didn't know it was there, but once you walk in, the decor is so cute. Think cozy, shabby chic vibes that make it feel warm and welcoming right away. The standout for me? The dinner roll. Honestly, one of the best I've ever had. It was dense, rich, and satisfying, not your typical light, airy Kaiser roll. It reminded me more of a Jamaican hard dough bread in texture and weight, which I personally loved. Super flavorful and filling. I was also really happy about their buy three, get one free promotion. It made it easy to try a few different things without feeling like I was overdoing it. As for the pastries, I tried the cinnamon roll and carrot cake. I didn't finish either, but the carrot cake definitely gave true homemade vibes. It had coconut mixed in, wasn't overly sweet, and felt more traditional than indulgent. If you like a less sugary, more classic-style carrot cake, you'll probably appreciate it. Overall, this bakery is worth a stop, especially if you're exploring the pastry trail. Not everything wowed me, but there were definitely some highlights that made it a good visit.

"Cause you know what they say about honey bears When you…read moreshave off all their baby hair" (The Velvet Underground) These small home-kitchen craft bakeries are popping up like mushrooms! We popped into one of those pop ups today when we picked up our pre-ordered loaf of Rosemary and Thyme Sourdough Focaccia from Honey Bear Bakery on West Mary Drive in Simsbury, not too far from the Stop and Shop on Bushy Hill Road. Honey Bear sells a variety of sourdough breads (classic and whole wheat), cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, and three types of sourdough focaccia (Rosemary & Thyme, Jalapeno Cheddar, or Cinnamon Sugar), chocolate chip cookies, and loaves of honey wheat bread. By the way, they mill their own wheat flour daily. They have a "farmstand" out front but suggest you place an order through their website (like we did). Our loaf of Rosemary and Thyme Focaccia (infused with fresh herbs and olive oil) was $12. I have to say that the website ordering experience and resulting communication were excellent. They accept PayPal and sent me a few e-mails and texts reminding me of my order and pick-up day and time. There is a kiosk on the side of the road at their address, and the names of their preordered customers are written on the boxes. Walk up customers have a box to place their cash. Our Sourdough Focaccia was delicious, I mean really full of flavor! We popped it in the oven for a teense and had it for dinner with smoked salmon, cream cheese and a bit of chopped onion. We were so impressed with their overall product and customer service that we went back the next day for some amazing looking cinnamon rolls! As if everything Honey Bear has isn't enough, well they also run sourdough baking classes!

I found them out through social media. The owner is a fellow mom. I am a fan of supporting small local businesses, especially fellow moms! I decided to order the cheddar cheese and jalapeno sourdough loaf. Ordering online and pick up was very easy. The loaf was absolutely delicious. The cheddar, jalapeno, and sourdough all tied in together perfectly. I look forward trying the various flavors. If you love sourdough, I highly recommend ordering from this baker!
