Ben is an honest and wonderful mechanic. There were moments he could have ripped us off, but he owned up (to a tiny mistake), and handled it like a pro. Other guys would have used it as an excuse to charge you extra. Faithful customer. I took my '12 Mini in for some repairs. I spoke to the owner Ben and mentioned a couple of things I thought were wrong with it, the main thing being the head cover gasket. He mentioned that there didn't seem to be a leak from the gasket and that the oil I saw was most likely old residue from a spill. Honesty is why I trust this place, he easily could have just replaced it and I wouldn't have been any the wiser. I was drawn to Cooper and Bimmer experts because of the extremely high number of positive review stating that this shop is honest and reasonable. The shop is located in an industrial area so you will need to use a GPS to find it without much trouble. Fortunately there were ample parking spaces when I pulled up. They have their own parking lot which is a positive. As soon as I left my car, Ben the owner greeted me. I noticed there were many BMW cars and SUV vehicles in the service bay which is reassuring. He quickly pulled my vehicle in for the pre inspection examination. The pre inspection was very reasonably price considering the detailed inspection. It took about 1-1/2 hour and the vehicle was inspected through a fine tooth comb. When you are buying an expensive BMW, a pre inspection is critical in saving you thousand dollars of headache after the purchase. I learned my lesson the hard way when I purchased a Mercedes without a pre inspection. The BMW SUV was hoisted on a lift and the undercarriage was carefully inspected. Moreover, a sophisticated computer was hooked up which even retrieved codes hidden deep which my consumer diagnostic scanner did not find. Based on the detailed inspection, Ben found out that the oil pan was leaking and need to be replaced. The labor involved is estimated between 6-7 hours because the sub frame needs to be removed. Moreover, Ben found that a nail caused the TPMS sensor to go haywire. Further, the computer analysis found out that the mirrors would not electrically retract as they should. Armed with this information, I can negotiate with the dealer for a better price or one can just walk away from the deal. As stated in the other reviews, Ben was brutally honest. I will be bringing all my other BMW vehicles to Ben. He definitely knows his BMWs. read more

I took my Mini there recently thinking I would need a brake repair job done since the warning light had come on. It turned out that it was loose wiring that caused the brake warning light to go on. You know how it always hurts when you get the bill after taking your ailing car in for a repair? Well, it hurts a less when you visit Ben at Mini Cooper Experts. The reason for that is you're not being gouged, the right thing is being fixed and he doesn't try to up sell you. My Cooper's exhaust pipe broke right at the catalytic converter. To replace it, the part alone was $1390 at the dealer and the dealer's labor charge was $520. I spent two days trying to find a cheaper alternative when I stumbled upon Ben. He removed the exhaust manifold, had it welded (he did not play the game of "yeah, we'll take care of it here." He told me he was gonna send it out to a welder) and he did it for around $300! I told him he should charge more. Bonus: I needed a rental car and, while his helper was gone, he offered to close his shop and drive me to Enterprise to get a rental. Wow! That's service! Bonus #2: Enterprise charged me more than they told Ben they'd charge his customers and Ben offered to take that amount off my repair bill! I couldn't believe it! HE was going to give ME money. I declined to accept and later his office lady called Enterprise, hammered them and Enterprise coughed up the refund. Ben's a former BMW and Mini dealer mechanic and obviously an expert at that, but he's also an expert in customer service. I'm considering breaking something on the Mini just so I can go back to Ben's shop. read more

Mini Dealer in Monrovia told me and documented that our car needed an inner/outer axel boot. Was told it was torn and ripped. Took it to The Experts and Ben solved the problem by adjusting and tightening a clamp. The boots were not torn or ripped at all... Took my 2009 Mini Cooper S Convertible to Ben. After making several phone calls to multiple shops, it was clear Ben was the most knowledgable. He answered all my questions perfectly. I have come to rely on Yelp for services that I can't ask friends about. This time I needed help with my 2010 MINI Cooper Clubman. Again, Yelp has not failed me and referred me to The MINI Cooper Experts in Glendora. I had previously taken my MINI to the dealer in Santa Ana for its routine maintenance and while there, I had alerted them to a rattling sound I heard at start-up. The issue was a broken timing chain that if left alone would cause serious damage to the motor. Who wants that? So, I asked for a quote and of course it was astronomical. I was nervous, after 4 years of owning my MINI I hadn't needed any extensive repairs. So I felt I should look around and get another quote. This is when I found the MINI Cooper Experts in Glendora and talked to Ben. Ben's the coolest guy and later found out he's a certified MINI mechanic and wears the MINI branded mechanic's shirt. In fact all his guys are professional looking with their branded attire. Looking around the shop is clean, well organized, and full of MINIs. That's all they work on - which to me says they know everything about my car. After they had assessed my car, they validated the repair needed to be done, but at a substantially lower price. The dealer's quote was a whopping 6-times higher! Needless to say, I approved the quote and the result is great. I'm very happy I found nearby mechanics who offer tremendous value and are very personable. They even washed my car. Only the dealer in Santa Ana had done that before. I found this place accidentally from Google. I just got my used Mini Cooper for2 weeks and I found out a couple things that made me upset. One was that I my car had some leakage and the other is that a small seam on the drivers side window was slightly open so when driving I could hear the wind go through. I was shopping around with a few different repair shops to find somewhere to take my girlfriend's Mini. It had been having some major problems for a few months that really needed to be addressed, but I knew would be ridiculously expensive to have fixed at the Mini dealer (especially based on past experiences with $2000+ quotes). I called Ben and it was immediately apparent that he was very knowledgeable and eager to help with the issues we were experiencing. He offered to take the car the same day I called, and assured me it could be done the same day. It turned out we couldn't take the car in until the following week, but it was still mind-blowing to hear he expected the repair work to take less than a day, considering the complexity of the task. The day of the repair arrived- she took in the car, he confirmed that the issues I had mentioned over the phone were indeed present, and in just one afternoon everything was finished. He even washed the car, and changed a couple light bulbs for free. The repairs also included an extensive 3 year 36,000 mile warranty, which I thought was really impressive. I rarely post reviews, but I had to post one for these guys. I live out in Ontario, so there aren't many Mini mechanics in the area. I found these guys on Yelp & took my wife's Mini Cooper to be looked at because it was jerking upon acceleration. The problem was quickly diagnosed and corrected. I was in and out within 1 hour which is unheard of in the auto service industry. The price was very fair & what I really liked about this place was they did a good job explaining and showing me what the problem was. They even replaced a light bulb for free. It's going the extra mile that will keep customers happy and being upfront & honest about services needed. At no point did I feel like I was paying for services I didn't need.
