First time checking out this place with my cousin. Reminded me of a 50s diner. The place looks fun and welcoming! We decided to place a to go order so other family members can enjoy the food too. We ordered 2 milkshakes, a burger, chicken sandwich, chili burger, the fixings of fries and onion rings , a taro burger with rye bread (that was mine and it was delicious!!) I savored it and saved half of it to eat later.Well...it was gone by the time I went to eat the rest of it! My hubby said that it was a good burger ! He thought it was an impossible burger. Nope! An amazing sandwich made out of taro!! I would definitely order that again! It's huge, flavorful and filling I LOVE rye bread and the way they created a patty from taro!! Genius! Anyway, my cousin gave me a bite of the chicken sandwich with bacon and ohhhh it was good too! The fries and onion rings were a great addition to the sandwich! Oh and their milkshakes are devine!! Thank you!

My best friend's daughter and I decided to try out their Happy Hour between 3-5 pm and it was a definite hit. She got 2 Duke sliders which had bacon, onion rings and bbq sauce and I got 2 Ono fish sliders with yummy lilikoi beer battered ono, cabbage and tartar sauce. We also shared Frings (1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings). Don't forget to add their delicious ranch and bbq sauce! A great affordable Happy Hour spot if you're craving yummy sliders! Our waiter was fun and he checked in to make sure everything was good. We will be back!

IMHO In all the years I've been going to Maui, I've never dined at Cool Cat Cafe until this trip. Formally it was on Front St. in Lahaina but has now re-opened in Kihei. We had more incentive to go this year because we had a coupon which offered a free root beer float with our entree. I LOVE ROOT BEER FLOATS!!! Cool Cat Cafe looks like a 50's diner, very whimsical and fun. My husband and I shared the 3-piece Fish & Chips, $25. He ordered a Big Wave Golden Ale beer, $11 and I was waiting for my free root beer float! By the time we had finished our meal, we asked our friendly server Devon if we could just take the root beer float, to-go. No problem! This is a very popular place, for good reason.

Excellent! Burgers were cooked perfectly, service was great, and it's a neat place. The reason we went is because they have GF buns and fries, and they didn't disappoint.

What a fun place! Angela from Blue Water Rafting Adventures encouraged us to stop in! This place was a treat and we will return here when we come back to Maui! Rootbeer float and a burger! Great environment! Lots of space and good service!

Tourist Trap Hipster Cafe serving food not fit for the homeless! Ok, I was in Kihei and the woman needed some food. Of coarse she insisted we go here, LOL ! The building must be cursed cause it's been multiple restaurants over the years. But back to my experience of Cool Cat Cafe. So we came in for a late dinner and I grabbed a hot dog & onions rings which was ok. The woman had something but I was so annoyed I was dining at this place I didn't catch her food order. What I did catch was watching her hurl chunks after she ate the food 20 minutes after we left... Nothing worse than feeling THE WRATH of a sick woman, but that was what happened. So needless to say I'll never step foot into this place again...

Love being able to go to Lahaina businesses in their new spots! Finally made it to Cool Cat Cafe in Kihei. Had the fish tacos, blackened and side salad. Both were great and the service was quick and friendly! They have a small arcade in the back and a bar in the middle. Fun spot to go on your own, with a group and good for families. The restroom was spotless which makes me love it even more! Only wish they were closer but we do have Captain Jack's.

Very good burger, lots of toppings. Got take away, long line to sit and dine. The onions nice and crispy.,

This place was awesome. The food was really good. American diner style food but not cheap like Johnny Rockets. The waitress we had was a super pretty and kind and charismatic blond girl. You gotta love someone who rocks at their job. I got the thanks giving turkey burger and some type of banana chocolate malt shake and OH MY GOD WAS IT GOOD! Ambience was fun. Old Timey vibes. Arcade machines. Good AC.

Where do I even start? My best friend Sean just reopened Cool Cat Cafe in Kihei, and it's been absolutely amazing. The new location at Kukui Mall has plenty of parking--spots are a bit snug, but there are tons to choose from. Inside, the air conditioning is a lifesaver from the Kihei heat, and I've never waited more than two minutes for a table, even when it's busy. Plus, you can order online or at the kiosk right when you walk in, which is super convenient. Now, about the food... it's still the same Cool Cat we all know and love. Everything is delicious. Their milkshakes are hands down the best in town, with tons of flavors to pick from--but I'm partial to the classic strawberry. The burgers are always fresh, never frozen, and perfectly put together with just the right amount of lettuce, onions, mayo, mustard, etc. Their ingredients are ALWAYS fresh and perfection every time. Sean doesn't joke around with quality and pops in frequently to make sure of it. The fries and onion rings are always hot and crispy--never soggy. The onion ring batter is perfect--golden, crunchy, and absolutely heavenly with their homemade ranch. Speaking of sauces, the ranch and BBQ sauce are so good I was putting them on everything for a while. They've also added a few special items from their sister restaurant, Captain Jack's, like the fish tacos and the Philly cheesesteak--which is honestly the best I've ever had. Overall, this is hands down my favorite restaurant in Kihei. We love the staff, the food, and the new location, and we're so glad to have Cool Cat Cafe back. I'm counting down the days until the new express location opens at Whaler's Village--I can't wait to finally get some good food on the Westside again!

We brought a friend to Cool Cat to show her Maui's top rated burger joint. We were immediately offered a round booth in the main dining room. Rachel arrived quickly with menus and water. She was very nice and answered all of our questions with a smile that was most charming. After careful consideration, I ordered the Sh-Boom, a very unusual burger. The ladies each wanted fish & chips and we ordered a basket of onion rings to share. We only had a little time to talk story before the food arrived. The onion rings were a little over-done one side. We're they cooked on a sheet? In an air fryer? It didn't affect the fact that they were delicious and perfectly crispy. We had bbq & ranch dipping sauces. Good choice. My Sh-Boom was an open face burger, cooked medium, on grilled sour dough bread. It was completely covered with chili (with beans), 4 kinds of cheese (looked like cheddar and Jack to me) and diced Maui onion. The burger was perfectly cooked and the chili was plenty spicy (as advertised). I was very satisfied. I sampled the fish, too. It was excellent. The breading, texture and flavor were spot on. It came with a little dab of cole slaw what had a nice hint of orange flavor. Rachel dropped by a few times to check on us and chat a bit, too. Great food and great service!

Elaine La Lanne vegan burger

Elaine La Lanne vegan burger has got to be the best plant based burger I've ever had!!! They make a taro patty to die for! Thank you so much!! My uncle got yummy mozzarella sticks and a Bogy Burger*! They are also very kind and welcoming when you first come in! We had Kelcie as a server and she was so helpful and patient with my excitement. It's so cool just like the name it says, inside. thank you so much! Can't wait to come back during my next visit!

Our first night here and no plans for dinner so I decided on fish tacos. Original plan was to go to the market but no parking so we parked across the street and perused the shopping center. Cool Cat was hopping so decided to come here once hubby gave the menu a look. We sat outside and enjoyed some live music , fish tacos and onion rings. When the waitress said ahi was the fish for the tacos, hubby jumped on the bandwagon and had the same. The fish was cooked perfectly and cut generously! So very tender. I'm not a fan of the cheese personally and wished for some lime. It's me. The onion rings were crunchy and generous. Try this local family friendly high quality food and drink; gem! Easy parking in the lot. Great and attentive wait staff too!

Walked in before 5:00pm with no reservation for a party of four. Well, that was a mistake. Despite idle wait staff and maybe only five occupied tables out of 20-30 total they made us wait for about a half hour. The reason was other people made reservations and were expected. When they finally sat our party the restaurant was still 2/3 empty. There was really no reason to keep us waiting that i could see. When you see someone in the party is disabled and using assistive devices you should be more accommodating. It kind of felt like we were being punished for not having a reservation. Also, expect a 3% service charge for the back of the house. Really, for the prices they charge for mahi fragments you could pay those people without a surcharge. Portions here are tiny. My mahi fragments were dry, over spiced and served with two unseasoned baby bok choi leaves and a slice of grilled tomato. For the price of almost $40.00. The beer was good and so was our server so they got one star for that. Otherwise, this place is touristy, overpriced and the maitre d' is slow on the uptake. Overall, there are plenty of great restaurants on Maui, recommend you try one of those.

I really like that I can select from the old world German Artisan collection and the Hawaiian Artisan baked goods. I snagged the Isabelle, a loaf of bread made of spelt (dinkel wheat, high in protein, fiber, and antioxidants) and rolled in an assortment of seeds. The texture is soft and the crust is slightly chewy. Just right and the taste is very satisfying. I can't bring myself to putting a slice into the toaster, though, because I don't want to risk losing any of the seeds. I'll be fine with the broiler and some butter. I also went for the Hawaiian Bread. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. It has pineapple, toasted coconut and tiny soft raisins. The bread is moist from the pineapple juice and the loaves are small. I could finish one off in a setting but I resisted the urge. Basically they cut the croissant in half, filled in the cream and put the top back. Odd. Better between the two. Might be too sweet for some. Prices are higher than other places. I don't think you'll find anything subpar. Seems like good offerings.

Working in customer service means you don't let a bad day trickle down to your guests, and unfortunately, that's exactly how this experience felt. As for the food, it was just okay--nothing memorable. What really stood out (in a bad way) was the pricing. Charging $17 for a burger and then an additional $5 just to add lettuce and tomato feels like nickel-and-diming customers. At that point, just price the burger at $22 and be upfront about it--it's a much better experience than feeling upcharged for basic toppings. Overall, between the poor service and questionable pricing, I won't be returning anytime soon. Hopefully they can make improvements, especially when it comes to customer service.

Finally get seated and both the hostess and waitress were super nice--real friendly, no rush, no attitude. In the front they had mushroom soup on the specials board, so we figured we go sample um. I had them bring a cup of soup out to start along with my wife's coffee. Gotta be honest--when I dipped my spoon in, I was already judging. Looked kinda thin, not creamy like other mushroom soups I've had. I was thinking, "Ahh here we go." Took one spoonful and immediately had to humble myself. That soup was money. Like, stop-talking-and-just-eat. My wife tried it and confirmed that this soup was "winnahs" . Deep mushroom flavor with the right amount of seasoning. It also came with a little piece of focaccia toast which I would have really enjoyed but had to take my wife's word for it since she ate um all . Should've ordered the bowl. Rookie mistake. For my main, I went with the original eggs Benedict. Portions were a little on the small side, but with the roasted potatoes, I was good. Didn't leave hungry, didn't need to loosen the belt--perfect middle ground. My wife got the strawberry waffles and yeah... those were legit. She's not a syrup person, so she asked for more whipped cream. The waitress comes back with a little mountain of whipped cream in the little silver ramekin. All in all, solid spot. Friendly people, ono food, and little touches that make you feel taken care of.
