First time ordering from cooklyn eats & it's amazing! The food is so delicious & flavorful. Now this is not coming from their bk location as I've ever been there. I placed my order thru DoorDash from their new location in queens. But I don't see any thing posted for it. So I'm leaving my review here. I haven't been inside but seen pics online. The ambiance & aesthetics of the restaurant look very pleasing. I had to place a second order the next day for their shrimp platter & third I decided to try their breakfast w/ waffles combo lol. Now that is where things left lil to be desired. The waffles didn't really satisfy me much. The dough made taste really thick it wasn't light & airy & seemed like it's made of wheat. I didn't enjoy that or the eggs. Idk I think you guys use fresh crack eggs. It taste like liquid carton eggs. But now as for their dinners the fried chicken & shrimp w/ Mac & cheese, Rasta pasta & Mac & candy yams. Omggggg soooo yum. I opted for sweet chilli sauce so fireee. But I don't like that you guys charge an xtra $1.50 for marshmallows on top. When it's really some white sauce? I think y'all melted the marshmallow in. Oh I also forgot to mention the empanadas / I ordered beef & plantain & it was also splendid. No xtra sauce included tho. Most places serve empanadas w/a dip. I've heard good things about this place and decided to give them a try. I ordered through a delivery service and purchased the baked wings combo with rasta pasta and yams as my side and the birthday cake for dessert. The baked wings were honey garlic flavor and a little spicy. I didn't expect the spice but the flavor was pretty good. They also give you a good amount of wings. The rasta pasta was sooo good! The sauce and the flavor was EVERYTHING! The yams could've been a little sweeter but they were still good. The birthday cake cup surprised me. It was very good and the icing was rich. I ordered on Uber eats and my food was delicious. The strawberry lemonade was refreshing and sweet. I got the chicken wing platter with mac an cheese and the pasta pasta. The mac and cheese was a little grainy but when I reheated it in the oven it had a smoother texture. The rasta pasta was delicious and seasoned well. I got the wings honey garlic flavored and it was the right balance of sour and sweet. I also tried the garlic parm wing which could have done with some more parmesan. I ordered the honey jerk salmon, jerk pasta, and garlic broccoli from Uber Eats, as well as the beef and sweet plantain empanada. The empanada was love at first bite! It was so amazing that I wish I ordered a dozen of them. Just for that alone, I would go back to this restaurant. The honey jerk salmon dish was also really good and I enjoyed it a lot. The broccoli didn't taste like garlic, although I saw some crushed garlic and paprika on it. Maybe this could be made differently like fried and garlic oil to enhance the flavor. I got the fried tender platter with garlic parm sauce along with mac and cheese and jerk pasta as sides. It was delicious and filling but definitely not worth $21. There is a good amount of food but I would not get again for that price. I also got the cookie butter banana pudding which was to die for. Soooo good but it was $8. Cooklyn is surely bringing the chef's kiss to Brooklyn. This has to be one of the best spots to go to for warm, comforting soul food. The chicken tender combo is my go-to order: this time around, I got the honey garlic sauce with jerk pasta and yams. Regardless of whatever sauce you choose, the tender itself is already worthy of the front stage. Crispy breading, tender and moist, and comes with a light zing of spice to support all of the other flavors. The honey garlic gave the tenders more of a tangy flavor which sat nicely with the meat. They're also very generous with the portion size: you get more than a handful of tenders and each tender is almost the size of Dwayne Johnson's left calf. You're not leaving here hungry. The jerk pasta gives the meal a sharp but invited contrast in texture. The cheesy and creamy sauce brings an abundant combination of flavors and adds a bit more to the spice level. Out of every side offered at Cooklyn, I'd put this one in the top three without a doubt. This pasta crowns them the masta's of the rasta! What I especially appreciated was the small slices of green peppers that gave the pasta more of a bite and a small splash of fresh vegetables. Helps me to forget the calories I'm putting on with this one. Among all the spice, the yams bring a comforting sweetness to balance all of the sensory effects. Each piece absolutely collapses under your bite: soft, silky smooth, and delectable. As far as candied yams go, these aren't obnoxiously sweet. Great dessert but also great alongside the salty and savory members of the crew. Nicely executed. Cooklyn puts soul under my fork and knife and lots of life into my soul. For sides i got Mac and cheese yams jerk pasta and collard greens. Best side was the Mac and cheese. The yams and greens were terrible STAY AWAY!!!. The greens were big pieces of leaves with absolutely no flavor. The yams had way too much cinnamon and were just plain nasty. The jerk pasta was ok but that lacked flavor as well. I'm a big fan of supporting smaller businesses so when Cooklyn Eats showed up in the "Latest Deals" section on Ubereats, I got a little curious. It wasn't a name I had heard before or seen around here so my first guess was that it was probably a ghost kitchen. After looking them up on Google and not being able to find a Yelp page (until I made one), I realized I was right. Their location seems to be a home to a few ghost kitchens running out of a Grubhub/Ubereats pickup space. Thankfully they did have google reviews and an Instagram page where I was able to see pictures of their food from both them and their customers. It gives off a comfort food/munchies type of vibe. The menu itself isn't super big which is smart, they have 8 Main Platter options which come with 2 sides (also 8 options). There's also a few appetizers, desserts and they sell drinks as well. Their page on Uber was advertising a BOGO deal featuring their wing and tender platters. I opted with the tenders because I'm very picky about wings and some of the reviews on Google had me feeling a littttttttlllleeeeee skeptical. Some reviews accused them of using frozen chicken and being flavorless, others praised them for being so good. I really wanted to try them out for myself though so I figured tenders was a safe choice. I went with Garlic Parm because I'm not a saucy girl and pro tip: ordering dry seasonings on chicken wings/tenders gives you an opportunity to really see the quality of meat you're getting, sauces cover up alooooot. Anyway, I went with Mac and collard greens for my sides. As you can see from the photo, I did not receive my collard greens. Instead, when I opened the bag there was a note saying they had tried calling me, they didn't have collard greens and they sent me a free lemonade instead. I opened the container and saw double Mac. Now I'm not gonna lie, I was pissed. I had my phone on DND because I was WFH but I had literally been watching my order progress through the app the entire time. In the past, one of my go to places on Ubereats didn't have a dish I ordered so the app actually notified me and gave me a time limit to choose something else or my order would've been cancelled. Idk why they didn't do that. Or tbh, they could've cancelled my order which would've prompted me to call them to find out why and I could've re-placed it with a different side option. I just felt like if I had wanted double Mac I would've chosen so, but clearly I picked two different sides so common sense would tell you I wanted TWO DIFFERENT THINGS, if you were gonna choose for me why not choose something different? A lot of the Mac went to waste. I barely made a dent. It was reaaaaaally heavy and decadent and on top of the tenders just kind of sitting in butter with a crap load of Parmesan on top? It was just too much so I really only ate the chicken. Tenders had a good crunch to them, definitely wasn't coming off as frozen to me but no garlicky flavor whatsoever. Ordered from them once via Uber eats and never again. Like other people have mentioned, their chicken wings are very odd. I wouldn't be surprised if they're frozen because the texture is not good at all. Fried Oreos were extremely hard and almost stale rather than a soft/fluffy batter. Mac and cheese bites were burnt on the outside, but the flavor of the pasta inside was tasty, so maybe their regular Mac would be good as well.
