So let's start with their amazing smiling faces as soon as you enter, I did frequent the Nostrand location because to be quite honest, the Utica location is VERY URBAN. So for the fresher and clearer atmosphere I prefer Nostrand. Food is a 10/10 literally amazing I got the jerk turkey wings with Mac and cheese and splendid yams, with a cornbread,Now that meal is my legit Go-to! I don't play about my jerk or turkey wings. And particularly this week I decided to get real festive and ordered the oxtail quesadilla and man do I say it's another 10/10 thank you BK for putting that B in Boooyahhhh! Big fan. Can one order off-the-bone jerk chicken or not? Sometimes yes... other times no... one time they took a normal serving of jerk chicken and took it off the bone in front of us which was humiliating and also not that much chicken. This was FIREEEEEEE. Got the lamb box which came with Mac and cheese and fries and a ton of flavorful sauce and lord the portion size was enough for two and heavy as two bricks. I couldn't stop eating and it kept me full for the rest of the day. Bought one for my brother who is very nonchalant when it comes to food and he was saying it was easily one of the best things he'd eaten and he wanted to keep eating despite being full. You can easily make two meals out of this. The lamb reminded me of halal cart lamb. Also got the jerk chicken Rasta pasta which was a smaller portion size but still alot of food. Admittedly I didn't enjoy the taste of the chicken, I think it was the meat itself that didn't have the best flavor but the jerk seasoning itself was fine. Pasta was in a more liquidy sauce so it slid right off the noodles. I think I would've enjoyed it better with the lamb. Also tried the oxtail Mac and cheese empanada. It was my first time having oxtail and don't think it's my thing but loved the creativity of the menu item. Spectacular spot with a few stools to sit and eat at. They weren't open exactly at opening time so I recommend coming closer to 30 min post opening. Would be back if it weren't so far from me! read more

Very disappointed Very disappointed today This was my spot before they started getting notice and started having these Instagram influences. The food would hit every time. I haven't gotten food since maybe Dec. I was excited to go today. They went up on the prices but I get it 65$ later plus I tipped and the you know what the food could have stayed there. The bk pasta which is supposed to be like a rasta pasta bland no flavor whatsoever. The turkey wings lacking flavor and a weird taste can't put my finger on it maybe to much salt idk. The Mac and cheese ok but it's not a soul Mac and cheese almost like a pizza taste. I don't know if they change recipes or people just stop caring about what they serve because the hype has died down and the area they are in will continue to make money because no one else serves the same food. I have no problem spending my hard on money on good quality but having wasted my money pisses me off. Mind you I'm asking for the catering info because my mind has been set to order pans of food in 3 weeks for a babyshower now I can't take the chance. They have so many people in there I don't know who is making what but they really need to rethink things and regroup. read more

The menu here is huge! You can pretty much get anything you're craving. They have their Jamaican and soul food on one side and their chicken and rice type meals on the other. I got jerk chicken and rice which had good flavor. The white sauce that comes with it resembles the white sauce you get from the halal trucks so I do wish they had a hot sauce similar to that! They have regular hot sauce but was still good. Will definitely be back to try more! read more

I hate that they don't have the oxtail, mac & cheese empanada on uber eats but the food here is good. I normally get a lamb gyro & their mac or the bk pasta. I wish the pasta had more flavor to it but it's good. The mac & cheese does have a different taste to it but in a good way. It's packed in the store sometimes so order ahead. read more

Just got got back home & eating my food from this restaurant about 30mins ago! We ordered the Turkey wing dinner w/rasta pasta and candied yams, Pineapple BBQ Shrimp quesadilla , Heavy hitter and beverages! My friend liked her quesadilla and I throughly enjoyed my food. Oxtail so tender it fell off the bone. I was worried I wouldn't like the mac & surpringly I did! I tasted the turkey dinner and the candied yams are good (not overly sweet), Rasta Pasta was good and Turkey had me confused & questioning if could be greedy and eat both meals. Every item had its own flavor and blended well!!!!! I knew as I ordered my food I wouldnt eat all of it. I ate 25% of the heavy hitter and I'm full!!! Can't wait to eat the Turkey meal tomorrow. Customer Service: Malcolm and his team were welcoming, accommodating, and VERY PATIENT w/my friend and I (so many options had us changing our minds). Watching Malcolm's interaction with his team and all the customers was great. He was positive and engaging. I liked how he handled a situation (employee messed up an order). I watched a customer placed an order that will now become a dish they serve! Malcolm was kind enough to offer us a sample to see if we like it but unfortunately they ran out of one of the main items. The restaurant is clean and looked tidy. When you enter, the left are some of the dishes, you can see straight in to the kitchen and see his team making your food, to the right are stools and a ledge to the right so customers can eat. Only Con is the utensils are not prepackaged (wrapped), so my greedy behind refused to eat my food in the car w/fork they provided. BTW, if you're driving be prepared to look for parking or bring another driver with you. Support this new local business in Crown Heights.
