I had been seeing the Dubai cookie all over my timeline. So I had to make it official and go to the Cookie Plug!! When I walked in I was greeted by the nice young lady at the counter. She told me about the cookies and we chatted for a sec. She was awesome!! 5 stars for her service!! The store was clean and had a fun vibe with graffiti and colorful art on the walls. Like an old school retro kinda feel. The cookies are out on the counter so you can see what flavors they offer. The cookies are shaped like a hockey puck. Real thick n kinda heavy. A good portion size. Definitely shareable if you choose. Most cookies are about $5 but the Dubai cookie is $8+ tax. Some flavors they had were, cookies n cream, s'mores, red velvet, and apple cinnamon oatmeal to name a few. You can also get mini cookies as well. They also have lemonade slushie drinks that you can get in a cup or baby bottle. It's called purple drank!! The idea is fun, but seriously I'm not walking around drinking out of a bottle with a nipple on it. Lol. I'm to greedy to wait for the juice to come through the little hole. I got the Dubai cookie which had pistachio cream and chocolate drizzle on top, I asked for it to be heavy toppings and that's what I got. Now as for the cookie, its kinda bland. Meh!!. Even with everything that was on it. I don't think I'd pay $8 again for this. Their cookies are missing the element of the taste of buttery goodness. That's how I like my cookies. But I have had other flavors that were good from here. I guess it's hit or miss. It would be nice to have some samples to narrow down what you want, since there are a lot of options. I do like that there's something for everyone!! I think it's worth trying their cookies, but I wouldn't buss an illegal u-turn to go back for them. Again, your getting a solid cookie, if they work on the flavor it could be a huge hit. Check them out!! They may be your new plug!!!

We were super pleased! We found this cookie spot entirely by accident. My husband is a major Cookie Monster so when we found this on Yelp after dinner nearby I knew we'd be coming. It's open late (like 10pm) and we arrived around 9pm. We got lucky and no one was inside. It smelled wonderful - like warm chocolate chip cookies your granny made as a child. The gal working that night was incredibly friendly and nice to us. Happily answering our dozen questions and making recommendations of flavors. In the end - we went with a red velvet Oreo and a Dubai cookie. Both were good but the Dubai cookie was sooooo much better. It's a huge cookie stuffed with smooth pistachio cream and crispy kataifi. Then topped with more kataifi and chocolate and pistachio drizzle. They have a bunch of flavors and then a seasonal or monthly featured flavor or two to change it up. These are large cookies and very dense. They call the big ones "thicc" and have three sizes. Like huge, normal and a smaller one. Branding is cute and more like graffiti theme. They had stickers and boxes and drinks and branding everywhere. All in all - new and fun and great cookies! A nice splurge from time to time. Think Crumbl knock off.

Crumbl who? Crumbl what? Forget any other cookie company you have EVER heard of before...not even that warm cookie from Chic-fil-A (and don't get it twisted, that cookie is GOOD)...this is better. This is "that good good!" Not my words, that's what is emblazoned inside the box. I went opening day, waited in a long line in the blistering sun and for $23, I got 4 cookies and 8 free! Yes, you read that right--8 free. And I'm here to tell you, this is THAT GOOD GOOD cookie company! I won't even bore you with the names; I wont tell you that they have a Dubai Chocolate Chip cookie-I don't even know what they do to chocolate in Dubai, I just know if I never get there to see for myself, I can taste what they do at the Cookie Plug. How can every single cookie be the BEST cookie I ever had? Yes the oatmeal raisin was the best; the OG Chocolate Chip was also the best, as was the strawberry cheesecake, the snickerdoodle and the red velvet. Every. Cookie. Was. The. Best. I. Ever. Had. Period. Find your way to Holland Road and see for yourself. Then come back to this review and tell me, "You were so right! They ARE the best!" Go ahead...I'll wait...

I really wanted to love this place. The branding is on point. from the vibrant packaging to the fun, Instagram-worthy presentation (yes, even the purple drink in a baby bottle). It's clear they've put a lot of effort into the look and vibe. But unfortunately, the taste just doesn't live up to the hype. The cookies are overpriced and underwhelming. They look great, but the quality and flavor fall flat. Definitely more of a novelty than a bakery I'd go back to. Cool to look at? Absolutely. Worth the price? Not for me.

The staff was helpful explaining about the different packs we can order. We ended up getting the 12 variety pack. The cookies were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, they were pretty good. However, we didn't know the names of each of the cookies when we were eating them at home. I wish they gave a menu that listed the picture and name of the cookie.

So I have had Cookie Plug twice now. The first time a friend of mine went by picked them up and brought them over and we split each cookie in half and did our own little cookie tasting at the house. That time we tried snickerdoodle, the OG chocolate chip, a peanut butter, and a double chocolate cookie (think homemade brownie with crispy edges). On this trip EVERY cookie was AMAZING! We both raved about how wonderful they were. These were far, far, far, far superior to that other popular cookie company with the pastel pink box. About a week later, I've ventured out on my own to try some of their other cookie offerings. This time I picked up another set of four including an oatmeal apple, a nutty OG (chocolate chip cookie w/PB), a red velvet and a s'mores. This time around, I think it was my cookie choices that left me a underwhelmed. I want to be clear here, the cookies were definitely fresh and the perfect texture, and you could tell they were made with good quality ingredients, but I just didn't love the flavors I chose this time. I took a couple of pinches off of each cookie and then put them to the side. The one thing I found disappointing on this visit is that none of the cookie offerings had nuts. I like a cookie with nuts, whether it's pecans or walnuts or macadamias or whatever, but some type of nutty offering, besides just peanut butter in the batter should be always available in my opinion. They have a rotating cookie flavor of the week or month, and they have a standard set of flavors which are always available and there is not a nut offering in the standard set... At least not on the day that I went. Would I go again? ABSOLUTELY! I would just be a little more careful reviewing the menu and maybe ask more questions before making my selections.

First, the branding is so great and it's throughout the entire store perfectly. The staff is kind and helpful and excited about their product. The cookies are classics with a crisp crust and warm gooey inside. I really enjoyed them! They have dips! They even have a funny "purple drank" in a baby bottle. Go check it.

I was greeted right away. The young lady at the counter was nice, she was patient, and she answered all my questions. The store is a vibe. There are beautiful flowers and decor, and it's pretty and clean inside. There's a table inside, but it's not much space to eat there. So it's more of a pickup type of bakery. They had several different flavors of cupcakes in the display which all looked tasty!! They also sell custom cakes and other baked goods. I grabbed my cupcakes but I was taking pics for my review. So as I'm taking pics, I'm smiling and minding my business. A lady walks in and you can tell she was in a bit of a mood. She started talking to the girl behind the counter in a rude tone. So I went on taking my pics, and the counter where the register was, had several boxes, so I sat my cake box down on this little cart that had toppings. I thought it was too cute not to get a pic of. All of a sudden I hear the same tone say "please don't sit anything there"! I wasn't aware she was talking to me at first so, she said ma'am and I turned around. She told me no, don't put anything on that, we take that to shows or for catering. She said it could get scratched up or dinged. I apologized and moved the box. She was still talking. So I said ok. I mentioned there wasn't a sign up or anything to alert me that it was a problem. But I wasn't being rude or weird. I mean it literally was a small dessert box. When we both walked outside I told her I wasn't trying to be rude, I just wasn't fond of how she was speaking to me and thought the sign would help avoid conflicts in the future. She obviously didn't want to talk about it, so she said we never needed a sign because no one has ever done that before!! As if I'd broken some unspoken law. Lol. By this time I was confused as to what I did that was so wrong, I even had to giggle because this small situation didn't warrant her being snappy. I tried to give her grace because I don't know what kind of day she was having. But I'm assuming she's the owner at this point. She should definitely get her tone in check, because customers can pick up on your nice nasty approach. I thought this was going to be a good experience, but it left me confused and a little disappointed. The whole vibe was light and airy before she walked in. As for the cupcakes they were not what I expected. I got a mystery box so it was a mix of cupcakes they pick out that are leftovers from the previous day. But these had to have been from several days ago because each and every one was hard, none were moist. Very heavy cupcakes. There was carrot cake, I think a maple one, lemon blueberry, and chocolate. I noticed the carrot cake one had the after taste of raw flour.. . The chocolate one and the lemon blueberry tasted the best out of all of them, but each one of them had to much extract, except the chocolate one. I'm not just saying this because of the encounter we had. I don't hold grudges, this is an honest reaction. I had been excited to try this place because I have a sweet tooth. Maybe the fresher cupcakes taste better, so I'll give them that. But these weren't good to me. That's just my opinion, but still check them out, maybe it'll be a different experience and you may enjoy the flavors!! Again it's a gorgeous store!!

As you can see from the pictures, the birthday cake and "smash" cake are absolute works of art. Our requests along with the artist's input ("baker" seems inadequate and probably inaccurate...) resulted in visually stunning, whimsical and an utterly ideal end product for the precious one year old baby girl guest of honor! But the accolades do not end with the visuals. I am grateful for the expertise and guidance received as I ordered for our party. I could not have asked for a better outcome. The actual cake was flavorful and tender. Even with the cakes still chilly from overnight refrigeration, the texture was light and moist - rich in taste with so many rave reviews from our guests. Since nana got to keep the leftover smash cake remains, picking through the baby's carnage has absolutely been worth the effort. If there is a "negative" it would probably be along the line of costs but given the nature of government imposed exorbitant taxes, there isn't much we can do about that. The first time I ordered any custom cakes elsewhere, the smash cake was a courtesy and provided at no charge. With that said, there absolutely is no comparison in end-products. We received two unique, beautifully crafted delicious cakes. And given how many years it has been since venturing in to the world of custom cakes, the price seems commensurate with inflation and nearby comparisons. So, I think this whole venture proves you do "get what you pay for" and you will find only praise for Custom Cake Cakery.
