I absolutely love Cookie Fix, it's my go to for sweet treats and sweet gifts for friends. But I hit a bit of a hiccup today at the Cahaba Heights location. The icing on the red velvet cookie sammie was extremely thin and soupy, and in our opinion did not resemble cream cheese frosting taste wise. We also felt that it was not comparable appearance wise to what was advertised on their Instagram. Every sandwich in the case was losing their top cookie, and icing was everywhere. I was going to give this as a cute birthday treat to a friend but once I got to the car and opened the box to check on it I decided against it and opted for another cookie from the case. Now the taste was good, the cookie was cold, like it had been refrigerated or blast chilled but nevertheless it had good flavor. Cookie Fix has become my go to for everything- whether you are feeling sad, feeling hungry, need to get a gift for someone, feeling happy, feeling bored, need therapy, thank goodness for COOKIE FIX! If for some reason you have not been to Cookie Fix, then you need to right this wrong immediately. They offer a variety of cookies, and change up the menu daily basis (which they post on instagram and facebook daily). My personal favorite is the white trash cookie (please hold your jokes), but every cookie I've tried is delicious. On the weekends, they do cookie sandwiches and if you are looking for a large dose of sugar, the cookie sandwich is sure to fill this need. Even better, they have plenty of cookie dough for purchase in case you prefer your cookies on demand. I have not purchased any of the dough yet, mostly because I fear I will eat all of it raw (and in one night), but I'm sure I will sometime in the near future. Their merchandise is very cute, with a variety of long and short sleeve t-shirts. They also sell small cast iron skillets that pair well with the cookie dough to make a great gift. 1st off these cookies are pretty good, moist/good texture & flavor. However a few hiccups - tried the oatmeal raisin, healthy peanut butter & chocolate chip. Oatmeal raisin was really good & will get it again. Unfortunately different experience w/the other 2. Healthy peanut butter: 1st bite/around the edge - got a hint of peanut butter but beyond that all I tasted was chocolate. It's so extremely chocolaty that you don't taste anything else... almost fudgy. Peanut butter is what I had my heart set on. We ended up trying to eat around the chocolate & focus on the edge but difficult because that's only a very small area. Chocolate chip - really really sweet! So much sugar that the texture was gritty. I may try this bakery again later on & try some other flavors that may work better 4 me perhaps no chocolate & hopefully a little less sugar read more
