This how you order. There is no cashier

Cookies look good. I made a mistake of ordering a box of 4 for about $23. They are large but you can get small too. I should have gotten the small. Services wasn't great, but they were ready pretty quick, staff just wasn't personable. Not sure I'll be back again due to the price.

Without a doubt, Cookie Fix makes the best cookies in Alabama! What once started as a singular shop…read morein Homewood has now expanded to multiple locations. They have monthly and daily specials as well as fun seasonal flavors! They always offer their classics but I definitely appreciate a rotating, diverse variety of flavors. The cookies themselves are dense, thick, and gooey on the inside- always baked to perfection! Cookies are handmade and always fresh. I think the prices are very reasonable, as the cookies are high-quality. I've tried so many different cookies but today I had the pleasure of trying the "Peanut Butter Bb Over the Top", which is easily one of the best cookies I've ever had. Also, they often have boxes of day-old dozens (no telling what's inside until you take it home though) but in no way can you tell they're a day old.

That list mentioned their location in Homewood, but I was able to swing by the Brock's Gap Hoover outpost. Unfortunately the selections were on the scant side; they had run out of some options. I wanted a cookie with dark chocolate but ended up purchasing the semi-sweet chocolate chip ($3.02 with tax). To be fair, it was about an hour to closing time. But later I went on Cookie Fix's website and reviewed the calendar, and Sundays have the fewest number of cookie options (9 versus 13 on Wednesday for example. At any rate, the cookie was very pleasing, with a unique ice cream scoop shape, a reasonable amount of chocolate, a soft middle, and noticeable sea salt. I approve! The young woman helping me was very polite and helpful; she might've been a high school student. I spotted a fridge stocked with cookie dough if you want to bake at home. And there's no seating inside but a couple of benches and tables with chairs right outside. Since this Cookie Fix is located in a shopping center, parking was unproblematic. There are also numerous restaurants and shops around for before or after getting your Cookie Fix!

We stopped in for lunch and were met with excellent customer service and an open, airy, and well-lit atmosphere. The menu isn't overcrowded, which I appreciated, and our waitress knew it well enough to confidently walk us through it. We started with the okra chaat, fish dip, and shrimp toast. The okra chaat was spicy, crunchy, and good, though I thought the okra was sliced too thin. The fish dip was flavorful perfection. The shrimp toast had great flavor, but deep-frying it felt unnecessary; it left the dish greasy and heavy, with far more bread than topping. For my entrée, the chef was kind enough to serve the red snapper over the field pea and rice salad. The snapper was very good, but that field pea and rice salad was something to text home about--literally. (I texted my husband after two bites.) Bright, nice acidity, great snap to the peas, and just perfect for the season. And the cocktails? Bartender's kiss. I took a sip and immediately told my friend to taste. I enjoyed this restaurant immensely. Thoughtful service, a beautiful space, memorable food, and enough standouts that already got me looking forward to coming back.

The restaurant specializes in locally sourced and carefully curated seafood, offering both raw and cooked preparations. I was in Birmingham for a short period and wanted to visit Bayonet while I was in town. Since I was booking at the last minute, I was unable to secure a dinner reservation, so I visited for Saturday lunch instead. I began with a bar cart martini, which was shaken tableside and served with a raw oyster. I then selected several oysters from the restaurant's menu, which guests fill out themselves. For the remaining dishes, I shared the shrimp toast appetizer with a friend and ordered the swordfish reuben sandwich as my entrée. The oysters were the highlight of the meal for me. The shrimp toast and swordfish reuben sandwich were enjoyable, although neither was as memorable as the oysters. The overall experience was enhanced by the quiet, intimate setting. Our server was kind and attentive and demonstrated a strong knowledge of the menu. Although I visited for lunch, I would be interested in returning for dinner on my next visit to Birmingham to experience more of Bayonet's seafood-focused menu.

I was excited to try the baklava as they looked beautiful. However, while the flavor was very good, the texture was all wrong. An authentic baklava is supposed to be crispy, flaky, and crunchy, especially on the top layers. While it is heavily soaked in sweet syrup, it should never be soggy, mushy, or completely soft. Unfortunately, the ones we had tonight were indeed soggy and completely soft.

Known for its middle eastern style offerings including Yemeni coffee and other kinds of coffee (hot or iced), pastries, crepes, and ice cream you will find it hard to find something you won't like. The place itself is a relaxed environment where you could study or catch up with friends. I tried the iced Aden latte (espresso, milk, pistachio and lavender) and it's the best coffee off of lakeshore. None of the flavors were overpowering the others. I also ordered a biscoff crepe and a sabaya. The sabaya was flaky and crispy, smothered in delicious honey. It wasn't the thickest sabaya but I enjoyed it! The biscoff crepe was so decadent. The crepe itself was soft and chewy, the perfect texture for such a delicious crepe. The fruit given with it also paired well with the drizzled sauce. I am looking forward to supporting this locally owned spot more often!
