Milkshakes are super good but SUPER thick

We were in the mood for some delicious and no-frills food, and Cookout met the moment. I'm not from the South, but many of my friends are, and they have been singing Cookout's praises for years. I finally had a chance to see the hype for myself today. So glad I did. We both got Trays with Double Cheeseburgers and Cajun fries. I had hush puppies as my second side while my travel companion got onion rings, and both of us got chocolate shakes. Zero complaints, every bite of food was delicious. My friends talked about how good Cookout is for half a decade - and still undersold it. It is elite fast food. It is stellar roadside food. It is the BEST possible version of what you'd expect from skimming the menu/taking a peek inside. Perfectly cooked burger, plenty of cheese, fries have great seasoning, and the chocolate shake is the perfect amount of chocolate. And the staff member who helped us was genuinely the best part of the outing. I wish I caught his name, but he was an extremely friendly guy with light hair and a baseball cap. He cracked jokes and put us in a great mood, which plenty of cashiers do, but this guy was above and beyond. He made everything so much better. Even if the food sucked I would go back for the friendly vibes. But the fact that the food hit the spot? I can't recommend Cookout enough.

The last couple of times I've ordered in the drive thru they got my order wrong! Missing the pickles and the bacon was chewy when I asked for crispy well done bacon. The chicken nuggets (only 3 small pieces) were not good.

Just recently I had a chance to drop in at Cookout in Williamsburg, VA during Memorial Day weekend. Now I haven't had the chance to experience in a min.. The last time I recall I had we was when wifey and I was in Nashville, TN.. Nevertheless, this spot in VA wasn't a bad. However, it was just me this time so I didn't order as many items as I normally post here.. This time I just ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger food tray with cajun fries and hush puppies and of course Cookies-n- Cream Milk Shake.. It didn't make 5 stars but I will definitely give it a strong 4 stars.. Everything was hot and fresh and MilkShake was just how like, with the spoon instead of straw! Bottomline is, I'll recommend Cookout in Williamsburg, VA!!

We were in the area and our first thought was Cook Out (wish they had them in New York). Love the fact they are so affordable and good. The burgers are truly grilled (and you can request charcoal grill). We got a great recommendation for shake, the gentleman referred us to the banana berry which was awesome and berry-licious The establishment is clean and spacious, parking available outside. They also have a drive thru. The staff extremely patient and friendly. The service was great.

Went there wary tonight and was offered an extra barbecue plate as an apology for the other night, it's great to know that they acknowledged it and compensated. I take it all back, they're alright. Old and outdated review: Updated review: went there tonight and got a barbecue plate missing the fries and the hushpuppies. Don't come here and leave before checking if you got EVERYTHING you ordered because those incompetent idiots don't bother with telling you about it. I'm going to stop coming here and start going to Wawa where you get more food for a better price and a better service.

Always a great lunch! The food are delicious and the variety of things great. Fried, hush puppies, Chile, ask great. BLT is awesome too. I enjoy the cook out tray with 2 dogs, 2 sides and a drink for $4.99. The restaurant is very rustic with tables and benches made from some natural hardwoods. Great place to eat, food is prepared quickly!

No option to sit inside. Son wanted a corn dog. Corn dog was quick and cheap. Went twice during our trip.

I would recommend getting the mustard drizzle on the side, just to be sure it is to your taste. We also had the Crab/Corn Chowder soup. You must try it! Super delicious and flavorful. The onion rings were also very good/hand breaded. Service was excellent and the manager stopped at our table to check on us. The atmosphere is comfortable and ambiance is nice/quiet and clean. Strongly recommended for a good meal in a very nice setting.

We were seated right away, and our service was awesome from start to finish. FOOD REVIEW Thai Poppin' Shrimp 5/5 - I really appreciated Robin for making sure we had a great experience with this dish. Berry Burrata 3/5 - Not my favorite, but still decent. Asian Chicken Wraps 3/5 - This was okay, just a little too saucy for me. Fried Green Tomatoes 5/5 - One of our favorites. The pimiento cheese paired perfectly with it. Carolina Burger 4/5 - Huge portion, and my son really enjoyed it. 2nd St Burger 4/5 - Another big portion and overall really good. Kids Pizza & Tenderloins 3/5 - Decent for the kids, though the pizza bread was a bit dense. DRINKS Margarita 4/5 Prickly Pear 4/5 Robin really made our experience even better. She checked on us frequently and made sure everything came out right. The portions here are on the larger side, so I'd recommend ordering family-style if you're dining with a group. Overall, the food was great, and the service made the experience even better.

Low and behold there is a Freddy's in Williamsburg, so we decided to take a little "part-of-the-day trip" to chrck it out. Upon entry, everyone working there greeted us and were super friendly. It was pretty busy in there, and i found the tables and chairs to be super close together and i felt a little claustrophobic. Maybe it was the abundance of the color red. The lady who took our order at the counter was very patient while we figured out the menu, which is mostly smash burgers in a variety of iterations, along with a variety of sides. I ordered a "single cheeseburger " with a side of shoestring fries. The cheeseburger is actually a smashburger that is practically a paper-thin "burger". It was very bland, to be honest. Their burgers, unless otherwise specified, come with pickles, mustard, and onions. The shoestring fries were awesome. Simple, not greasy. My husband got 2 Steakburger Tacos, which he said were "just okay". He also got a side of tots, which he found to be overly greasy. We couldn't leave without trying some of Freddy's Frozen custard. I had a small cone of vanilla, which if blind-taste-tested against McDonald's soft serve, i wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. Which is fine. We also got a chocolate malt shake, which was super good. Was it worth the drive? Meeeeehhh. The best things were the shoestring fries and the milkshake. Oh, they also serve Pepsi products. This is the first time that I have ever seen Pepsi Zero in a soda machine at a fast food restaurant. That was pretty cool. It's the little things. Would we go again? Unless there was a much closer location in RVA, probably not.
