Great for what it is! A quick fast food stop. It is our first time ever trying Cook Out (we are from California). It did take a couple minutes to order because we had no idea what the menu was - I would recommend not going through the drive thru the first time. I got a double cheddar style burger with cheese bites and a banana milk shake. It was all very tasty. The choice of milkshake options is crazy!!! Stopped at this location on our way back to NC from FL. It was 8:30pm on a Saturday night. Absolutely the worst service I've ever experienced at a Cook Out. The drive-thru line was LONG so we parked and went to the walk-up window as the inside is still closed. Waited 17 minutes for a burger, fries and 2 shakes. Do yourself a favor and keep driving past this one. If you have to stop, stick with the DT line. read more

I ordered the BBQ sandwich and the tray including a quesadilla, chicken tenders, and onion rings..... all of the above were disgusting. I have read great reviews and heard great things but this food is simply mediocre at best. It's similar to concession stand food, just horrible. Its really irritating when you get a a tomato slice on your burger that you cant eat. Management trying to save money by serving up the end of the tomato with the green core that is too tough to eat. read more

After two failed Denny's locations we stopped into this Cookout yesterday. I have to say although they were busy the staff was polite and our order was fast and correct. The floor was wet and slippery (otherwise they would get 5 stars) but they did have signs posted. It was nice to sit inside a Cookout too. read more

I once went to a Cook Out restaurant in North Carolina 10-12 years. It was really good. Today I'm traveling from Saint Augustine to Virginia. I saw a Cook Out sign coming up 95 in South Carolina and good memories came to me. Time to go to Cook Out!!! I arrived around 3:30 in the afternoon, typically only a few people seated and no line. I kept it simply and ordered a double burger fries AND chili. The food was ready pretty quick.....and.....whoa!!! Just as good as I remember!!! In general I never go to fast food burger places, but Cook Out is many steps up from fast food. Good work team, next time I'm passing through I'll be dropping in again read more

Last three times I've been too cookout. My burger has been put together sloppy, the fries have been old and soggy and the deserts have been thrown together. Which is disappointing. One time there was a very soggy part of the burger bun. I feel sick all over again thinking about it. read more

My husband and I were en route to Baltimore and stopped in at this location. Easy in; the food was simple but good and I had a wrap which was lower in calories than some fast food places. I thought the selection was good as were the prices. We waited for TWENTY FIVE minutes with our family to get our order. My parents' order was wrong when they received it. When we finally received ours- it was wrong as well. The girl at the register was sweet and apologized but the manager did not even bother to come out. We requested to speak with him and he didn't so much as apologize. I live here in Manning and when this came into towny family got excited. I I have eaten here once and vowed never to go back. I went the other day after work and the food was okay. I was driving thru SC and stumbled upon Cook Out. Loved it. Way better than the other chain drive-thrus in the area. I got a double with grilled onions and it was really good, especially for fast food. Their fries were also tasty. I now know why it is not as busy as when it first opened. In the beginning it was very good. Went there yesterday and it was terrible. Both of our orders were wrong. The burgers were hard and dry. My order of onion rings consisted of 4 onion rings each the size of a poker chip. On the bright side the shakes are still very good. read more

Driving home from Maryland to Florida, and decided to stop for some food. Given a choice, we prefer to try places that are new for us. Thus, decided to try CookOut. The place was very clean, and staff was friendly. Food was indeed fast. The fries were very good. The hush puppies were perfectly cooked and not overly dry, but had very little flavor. They were much improved by dipping them in the Polynesian sauce (various sauces and other condiments were freely available). My husband had the CookOut burger with chili, mustard and onions. The proportion of mustard was way too high, as well as onion. There was very little chili, and he seemed unimpressed. I had a Cheddar burger, skipping the mayo. Lots of grilled onions and perfectly crispy bacon, but the cheddar seemed to be more of a cheddar flavored orange sauce. We both agreed the burger patties themselves were well cooked with good charred flavor. I suspect their high point are the milkshakes (tons of flavors) but we didn't try that. All in all, I've had much better food elsewhere but also much worse food elsewhere. So I put it solidly middle average. read more
