I'll give them a clean 5 stars. Reason being... It's a cookout with a dining room!!! If I'm correct it's the only one of its kind in the Raleigh Durham area. It's brand new and it's super clean. The location is awesome as its in a centralized busy area. We stopped by to grab a few items and went inside the establishment. The place has only been known for a day or so. Everything looks awesome. There's a lot of people here as they are all excited about the fine in experience. Brand new cookout just opened today! Great atmosphere. Smells brand new. It's one of the few cook outs where you can park then go inside and eat! Inside there are only two registers so be ready to wait in line but it moves pretty quickly. The bathrooms in a widowed spot. Front and center as soon as you walk in look for he red doors. Rustic wooden theme inside. This place is decorated and designed very well. The food was great! Consistent with any other cook out. If you haven't been - this food will taste like authentic charcoal grilled food. Delish! The fries are great and the shakes! 40 amazing flavors! Hint - you can mix more than one flavor of shake! You want Oreo and snickers? Get an Oreo snickers shake! This is a real shake. Thick and chunky just the way it should be. Pick your meat and then pick your style. Enjoy their food, but their service was outrageously bad today. I can forgive slow service when an establishment is swamped with customers, but there's not many legitimate reasons for super slow service when the place is not busy. Drove in to grab a milk shake. As I drove around the store to get in line for the drive thru, I saw that there was no line for service inside. Opted to park and run in to get a shake. Ordered the shake at 5:44 pm. At 6:08 no milk shake yet. At this point I went up to the counter and tried to get someone's attention. No one seemed to care. Oh well, just opted to walk out before I got more pi**ed. Putting the fast in fast-food. I don't get Cook Out often, but the Cook Out tray is a good deal and hits the spot! And you get your food quickly. I'm a fan of the chicken wrap and quesadilla as sides. They are presented pretty unceremoniously, items are individually wrapped in aluminum foil. But I don't mind that since it tastes fine. By far my favorite thing about Cook Out is the milkshakes!!! Can combine up to 4 flavors for the same price! So so good. read more

I ordered a burger tray cookout style with double cheese fries and a burger tray with ketchup, mustard, chili and pickle with fries and nuggets on 9/20/18. When my boyfriend took a second bite into his burger (the second tray) the meat was basically raw inside. We called three times to let staff know, no one answered the phone. I have gone thru the drive thru or I should I have once and my wife has once and each time they get the order wrong! It's real simple, the orders were for the same thing, double cheeseburger with bacon but different toppings. Both times which were months from each other we got bbq! How in the world do you give bbq instead of a double cheeseburger with bacon? I went on to the website and complained and someone called just to apologize. Each time I have gone back to speak with a manager and I ask them to read the receipt and then look what we got. Each time it's a different manager and they ask me what is wrong? So it appears to start from the top down. So if you go thru the drive thru check your order before you pull away from the window or go inside. The food is good and reasonably priced but get your act together in the drive thru. Also the milk shakes which is more a soft serve is real good! read more

I've been here a few times now and for a fast and inexpensive meal, this is a great deal. You can get the Cookout Tray which comes with the entree and two sides (yes, a corn dog is a side) for $4.99. My hubby and I can both eat from that. I've had their burgers as well as the hot dogs and both were tasty. As a rideshare driver, I LOVE that they are open late. A North Carolina staple. Burgers, fries and a huge selection of shakes. They also have chicken and hot dog offerings too. This is one of the newest locations. I've been there several times and there is almost ALWAYS a long drive through line, even at night. During the day at the height of the lunch rush you can see the smoke from the grill filling the sky and you can smell the aroma of fresh cooked burgers. This place is non-stop like almost every Cook Out I have been to the last two decades. Navigating the entrance can be a tad tricky. That whole area sucks for access and at certain times of the day can be hard to get in and out of. Always been that way though - even when Cook Out was a Sal's pizzeria and Rudinos sports bar and grill before that. The parking lot fills up fast during lunch and it is not uncommon for the drive through line to wrap around three-quarters of the building, yeah it gets that crowded there. The staff is usually friendly or as friendly as they can be since it is usually a madhouse inside during the lunch rush. It's kinda fun to be in the the mix with the other customers. Decent food for the money. It's more of place to hit occasionally rather than frequenting regularly though. read more

So disappointed ‼ We haven't been here for over a year. Came tonight Aug 16,2021 and it was a mess. They got our order all mixed up and the double burger we had to have them remake twice. The first one had two partial patties. The second only had one. We also asked for a strawberry banana milkshake and got vanilla. Finally talked to the manager who appeared to care less. He said they would remake the dbl hamburger and shake. But then they forgot to make the shake so I mentioned it to the cashier who said he would get one. Finally we were leaving and still no shake. I stood there waiting (determined) after asking again. This Cook Out is huge, has tons of seating. Compared to the other sit-down Cook Out I go to, it's also super quick. No experience with the drive-through, but every time I go in, the tray I order comes out pretty much how I expect it to, so no complaints here. Stopped by for a burger after work, ordered a burger, onion rings, slaw and drink off the combo menu. They counter staff gave my order to someone else when it came out, he returned it and they might have remade it. They took it to the back and it came back out so who knows? Well it came out with hush puppies instead of onion rings. So it went back again. This time it comes out with 3 onion rings, the place is inexpensive but this is cheap. We don't have Cook Out in Florida, so We decided to try it while we were in NC. It was average fast food. The cook out tray is a good deal, but the side options are basically all fried. The burger was comparable to Hardee's. The service is friendly enough if not super fast. They do play Christian music quite loudly, so be ready for that. It wouldn't be my first choice for fast food, but I would swing through for a burger if it was convenient. read more

I asked for Cajun fries with cheese and a sweet tea... they dumped half a bottle of Cajun seasoning on half of my fries then put cheese on it. No tossing the fries in the seasoning, they just dumped a ton of seasoning on top. Literally ruining my meal. The fries were so disgusting and they tasted old. The cashier was also extremely unpleasant. She's doing real good upholding the companies Christian values with that attitude. Sure hope that $15 minimum wage doesn't make it to NC. Unfortunately, there's no phone number to make a complaint to the store and the corporate number is out of service. Real great customer service from this dump. This location is very clean (100% sanitation score), efficient and serves up delicious burgers and fries! It's my go to lunch spot when I have to grab something quick yet satisfying. The regular burger is perfect size for me and the fries are always crisp, salty and worth the calories. The only issue is parking - well leaving your parking spot. With a drive thru and dine in service the lot is very busy so be careful backing up. read more

I love Cookout. I will admit it. My husband and I were very happy when a late night gross food joint opened up near us. The food is always consistentmy greasy deliciousness, but their drive through always takes FOREVER.
