My daughter's friend recommended this place for fast food place while we were in the Raleigh area. It's a drive thru or walk up only. You can get an entree, two sides and a drink for $6.99. We had burgers, fries, cheese curds and a quesadilla and enjoyed everything. The burgers were freshly grilled griddle burgers. Very good.

Simple burger with mustard.

Seen these Cookout places all over Virginia and NC. I happen to have one next to me, so I stopped in to check it out for the 1st time. The food is simple and good.

Veggie sandwich

NOT vegetarian friendly! I read somewhere that this was comparable (or even better) than In n Out in the West Coast, and boy, that could not be further from the truth. In fact, Taco Bell, Subway, McDonalds or Burger Kind might be better for vegetarians. The vegetarian options were almost all poor quality and bland. The fries had nice flavoring but were soggy, and the veggie hush puppies were okay I guess - more like mini bread sticks/bites. The cheese quesadilla was nicely loaded with cheese but had no flavoring (Taco Bell does it better, honestly). Most of all, their veggie sandwich was pathetic; there were no pickles, or onions, but one lettuce leaf and one tomato; it could have been Wonder bread with mayo and cheese and I wouldn't have known the difference. Very, very poor. My suggestion for vegetarians (if plant based stuff aren't options) are to load up the vegetables and make an effort with the flavorings. 1.5/5.

Only 3 chicken nuggets in the regular "Tray" / disappointing.

8:45p Friday night - lines were a little long (but that leads me to think food will be hot and ready). Sadly mistaken. Order was: Regular (not "junior") tray; double burger, with chicken nuggets and onion rings as my two sides. Asked the girl what she liked on the menu (because I like to try different things) and she replied the corn dog. Ordered one as a side. I ended up getting only 3 (?!) chicken nuggets, and the onion rings weren't even crispy and were flavorless. Waste of time and lackluster food experience there. Spend your money at McDonald's instead.

two trays of food on a picnic table

My first Cook Out experience and it did not disappoint! If you're a first timer like me, be sure to look up the menu ahead of time because there are SO many options and combos. If I decided at the drive thru, I probably would have panicked and just ordered anything. Speaking of the drive thru, there are two lanes but the structure is weird because for one of them, the audio is on the passenger side. Makes me wonder how one would order if they were driving alone. We each ordered a tray and I had the double cheeseburger with fries, chili, and a cheer wine (also my first time - reminds me of a cherry Dr. Pepper). Everything was up to typical fast food standard. The chili was pretty good especially when using it to dip fries. We ordered 4 trays in total for everybody and our order was correct. It's fast and it's cheap but definitely not something to be eating too often. Definitely a once in a while treat. I also didn't feel TOO greasy after. I tried some of my husband's strawberry shake and it was way too sweet for me. FYI - This location does not have any seating (I'm not sure if others do) so we took it to a park nearby that had some picnic tables.

cheese bites

I mean look at the cheese bites. That lazy to wait 3-4 mins for some fresh ones. I know it's fast food but wow. Worst cookout in the immediate area by far. Lost my appetite and wasted money for a disgusting meal. Pitiful.

Fries were bland. "Chicken" quesadilla was stocked with cheese only. Burger was delicious, and blueberry milkshake (not pictured) also tasted very good. Cheap and good (at least for the burger and fries)

Cheese?

Not sure how you make this mistake...order a side of the quesadilla sauce and get a full cup of nacho cheese instead...

"Chicken ranch wrap" ...where is the chicken??
Parker R.

Drove to cookout, went through the drive through and ordered 2 chicken ranch wraps. I must say this is a poor excuse for for a wrap to begin with if you look at the pictures below provided. If you do not like your job then quit nobody forced you to work there, do not make other people suffer because you feel like being lazy and don't want to be at work. You would think a chicken ranch wrap would come with chicken... apparently not. Over the years I've ordered from here about 25 times and about 5 times I've actually gotten the correct order. I would rate 0 stars if I could.

We loved the shakes, the burgers were pretty good for fast food but the fries were pretty plain. We did like it enough to go back!

Good burger, good service. We got there and sat at the bar and had an app of fried deviled eggs,…read morewhich were interesting. The hard boiled part was fried, with jalapeno and bacon on top. Pretty neat rendition of a traditional product. I had a Heat wave burger, which I thought was going to be really spicy, but was pretty medium, for me... I am from NM, though, so I have a little bit of a spice skew. The burger was nicely cooked, and although the fries came out cold, they remade some for me that were hot and pretty good. They also had a nice beer and cocktail selection, so if you are in the mood, you can get your hop or wheat on, or marg... Nice looking spot on the inside, with either ample table or bar seating, so take your pick. This is the spot where they just announced that the theater will be closing, and demolished forever... in Park West, and I did notice a lot of closed businesses, but that I think is a separate issue relating to the ridiculous rents that they are asking for in Wake as a whole.

Still the burger itself was delicious with a good balance of fat and thickness. Doc B's is one of those places that never lets you down…read more I've been here several times, and whenever I'm in town for a work event, this is usually where we end up for dinner. The staff is consistently friendly, the food is always great, and the space is clean, lively, and welcoming. It works just as well for families and date nights as it does for friend gatherings or corporate dinners, whether it's a large group or just a few of us out for an offsite meal. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The appetizers are all solid, and I'm fairly certain I've taken down an entire guacamole plate on my own before. The Caesar salad is a favorite, and I usually choose between one of their steaks, which has never disappointed. We've also dined with people who have dietary restrictions including gluten-free and vegetarian needs, and the kitchen has always been accommodating. The atmosphere is fun and energetic, and parking has always been easy and convenient, which is a big plus when you're coming in with a group. One small, constructive note from earlier visits is that a couple of servers were newer and less comfortable with wine recommendations. This is completely understandable and didn't detract from the experience, but having a quick backup or simple pairing guidance could make business dinners even smoother. On our most recent visit, I arrived late and the group had already ordered wine, and the selections were excellent. The food was outstanding, the service was seamless, and everything came together beautifully. Overall, Doc B's continues to be a reliable, enjoyable spot with great food, a welcoming vibe, and strong service. I always look forward to coming back when I'm in town, and if you're ever on the fence, don't hesitate. It's absolutely worth the visit.

I had a Cajun fish sandwich and it was one of the best I've had. My son enjoyed his pho and my wife her steak sandwich as well. The homemade Oreo ice cream is phenomenal. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because it's pricey. I do believe you get what you pay for but even then I think the menu was over and above it should be price wise.

So far the best hamburger in RDU and consistent quality, taste and service!…read more Venue: casual, burger joint. Full bar available in front if you want to watch sports game. High top and bar seat in the bar. Tables and booth seating in the restaurant. Food: ordered good ol' cheese burger which you can make your own (you can pick type of protein for the patty, veggies, cheese, sauce etc). Patty is cooked just like we asked- juicey and well flavored. Deviled egg was phenomenal- little rich and on the salty side but it only compliments their amber ale to chug. Another complimenting dish to the ale is definitely fried pickle. Portion is good=big. Oh, came here another time. Burger was good again. I ordered Philly cheese, which I loved the taste but the ground beef instead of shaved beef was not for me. Service: both times, the service was great. Fast and very attentive. Price: I think the price is reasonable if not, really great. $4 pint amber ale? It's a steal!

It took a while for the waitress to come over and take our order. The restaurant was not busy (other than our table there was only one other) and it took 10 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. Then it took another 10 minutes for the water to show up and to have our orders taken. I ordered the Bad Ass Burger with fries. The fries arrived cold and floppy. I let the waitress know the fries were cold and she graciously took then and had them remade. The second set, arrived hot and floppy...and were unseasoned. The burger itself was terrible. The meat patties were not seasoned and overcooked (ordered medium arrived well done). Ultimately, the food was just disappointing. Lastly, I saw one of the cooks vaping over the food.
