Why have a warranty if your stores won't honor it?…read more On 6/27, I purchased a battery from this location without returning the old battery. I worked with Mike, who was excellent. He kindly reminded me to bring back the old battery for the core refund. At the time, I wasn't aware the old battery was still under warranty. About a week later, I returned the old battery and dealt with Tony. During the replacement process at home, I had realized the old battery was only about 26 months old and should have qualified for warranty coverage. Tony immediately processed the $15 core refund and told me to have a great day. Only after I asked about the warranty did he seem surprised and tell me the battery would need to be charged and tested first. He said someone would contact me with the results. About a week and a half later, Mike called and left a voicemail confirming the battery would not hold a charge and qualified for replacement under warranty. Had Mike been at the store upon my return, I believe this would have been resolved easily. When I returned to the store, Tony again confirmed the battery would not hold a charge. However, instead of honoring the warranty, he began looking for reasons not to. He questioned where I bought the battery, asked for a receipt from more than two years ago, and repeatedly stated he could not verify my purchase, even though Mike had previously been able to locate my customer history in the system. I explained that the battery carried an Interstate sticker dated 4/2024 and even showed him a photo from the day I purchased it in that city. None of this seemed to matter. Rather than helping find a solution, Tony appeared focused on finding a reason to deny the warranty claim. The entire interaction became increasingly frustrating. It wasn't until I told Tony I would sit in the store and contact the other Interstate location or corporate that he decided to call his manager. He eventually spoke with his boss and was authorized to refund the battery purchase, which he then processed. In the end, I told Tony that both interactions were unacceptable. I strongly believe he intended to let me leave the first time with only the $15 core refund and no mention of the warranty, despite the battery qualifying for coverage. Customers rely on store associates to do the right thing and help them navigate warranty claims fairly. Mike demonstrated that level of customer service; Tony did not. Tony needs to do better as a representative of Interstate All Battery Center. Honoring warranties and treating customers fairly should never feel like a battle.

And anybody that lives in the desert knows car batteries do not do well in a very hot temperatures and very cold temperatures. Which we seem to have an abundance of both in 2023. My battery started showing signs of going bad and I stopped in at O'Reilly Auto parts I did not have my receipt for the battery that I bought there a year and a half ago. I do always use my phone number when I buy auto parts just in case I have an issue. Cody was working, he is the assistant manager of the store. For some reason their computer system was having issues and he was not able to look up my phone number in their system. Cody was very patient and tried several different ways to locate my phone number in the computer. He even called another store whose computer was working and was able to locate my information so I could get the warranty claim on the battery. I appreciate the fact that he stuck with it and was able to get the issue resolved. The computer did finally start working so that helped. But Cody was not going to give up until he got that battery changed. I highly recommend O'Reilly Auto parts.

I called them on the evening of 09/03 to ask if they had a battery that fits my car. I believed that my last battery was purchased with AutoZone 4 years ago and I tell them this. They have only 3 year warranty options available (more $$$) and I stress that I can't afford more than a 2 year, and then the assistant store manager Cory makes it seem like he's going to do me a great service and price match a similar battery with Walmart, and is going out of the way to even look for a lower price for me. Red Flag #1 (I didn't realize at the time) is when Cory asks why I don't want a 3 year and I say, "I don't need a 3 year since my battery lasted 4 years anyway", and Cory says "I can see why you would think that". He pulled my info with just my phone number and that surprised me because I don't remember shopping with O'Reilly before. This was Red Flag #2 but I didn't think on it further. I thanked him sincerely, went to the store that night and bought it. While checking out Cory once again gave a whole song and dance about how he's helping me out here, no problem at all. Red Flag #3, is looking back and forth with the other store associate in a peculiar way. As though they know something I don't, or Cory doesnt want the other associate to say anything. Something felt 'off' the whole time. The afternoon of 09/04 I go to return my old battery for the core exchange. Partnered with store manager Bryan and brought up that it was odd that my info pulled up, I realized I have an O'Reilly brand battery in my car currently, and is it possible my battery was actually within warranty? Bingo. My warranty ends 09/23/23, I bought it with them in 2021. I just barely caught it before that warranty ran out. I ask how and why Cory could have missed this information and Bryan gives a vague "well did he look at your car? No? Must not have been looking at that screen". He then talks me into keeping the battery as a purchase rather than taking advantage of the warranty in a convoluted way, by making it sound like it's a better deal to simply buy my battery now so it has three year warranty starting today rather than running out of warranty in 20 days. What an idiot I am. Of course the better deal is to get a FREE battery while it's within warranty for the last 20 days. What are the odds something will happen to a brand new battery? Even if it did, I was already going to buy a new battery. Literally trying to rob me of the last few days I could use the warranty. Thanks for making me look like a dingus, Bryan. I'm sure y'all had a good laugh when I left. I came back an hour later to get the full refund and use my warranty. Bryan didn't look too happy about it. Sorry you didn't get a measly $173 for your store this month by trying to trick someone with slimy sales tactics. This left a bad taste in my mouth and I will never return to another O'Reilly.

For key fobs, they will open and replace on the spot which is super nice, especially for folks who dont have tools or are not mechanically inclined. They also have guarantees on their batteries - which you most definitely are not going to get with your Amazon purchase. This is about all I've gone in for but always has been a good experience.

I called the store and spoke with Austin, who was incredibly helpful and friendly. He looked up my information, confirmed my battery was still under warranty, and even though they were closing in 45 minutes, he went above and beyond. Since I live across town, Austin found a closer location near my home, called them directly, explained my situation, and arranged everything for a smooth warranty exchange. I also called other companies to get a comparison and finally decided on the Lithium-Ion battery, set an installation date almost 2 weeks out. A little disappointed but could deal with it. A few days later, Bo, called and said that he could do an earlier date which was great. The day of installation, the crew was on time was completed within 45 minutes. After the crew left, I inspected their work a little closer and found the mounting screws were not adequate on one side of the battery. I also found that after 4-5 hours of charging the meter showed 47%, continued to charge overnight and found that the charge was still 47%. Being concerned I called and spoke with Bo about my issues. He said the battery may be bad and they would be out the next morning to replace it. The next morning Bo arrived and found that the connector was bad from the factory which needed to replace the charger. Bo immediately went to his shop, brought a new charger and replaced it. He secured the battery properly, plugged it in and immediately started charging and was reflected by the meter. I'm completely pleased with the new battery and especially with the rapid response to my issues! Great job, Bo! I would definitely recommend their business to my friends.

The gentleman who helped him was friendly & informative. My partner was given options based, but was given a "better" option after explaining all the things he would like to get installed in our car. As we drove away with the new battery, I was told that the same gentleman who helped him was also the one who talked him out of a battery previously. Turns out my man's truck needed a new fuel pump at that time and not a battery. This gentleman helped him figure that out and sent him on his way instead of selling something the hubster didn't need.
