We are refugees of the Altadena Fire 1/7/25 with a house that is standing with damage and no neighbors around at all. This company was recommended by the insurance company so we assumed they were good. The individuals who came to our home and went through everything to catalogue and photo the items were nice and worked hard in very hot weather. My issue is I am now at 9 weeks from the date they left with no list to have insurance forward on to the firm who will determine what value they will put on almost every item in my home. This has resulted in us being out of our home at least a month longer than we had expected or were told originally. They apparently do everything manually so someone sits and listens to the recording and types up the list. They do not even return calls or emails any longer as it has gone on so long. I sincerely hope no one else uses this company. I doubt they will be in business long as AI will overcome what they do soon, thank goodness... read more

We had a water leak which led to the ceiling collapsing and then asbestos from the beams contaminating one of the bedrooms in our home. Thomas and his crew came out to assess the damages. He then explained what the process was and what they were going to do next. Very professional and answered all of our questions and concerns. Unfortunately, due to the contamination, almost everything had to be thrown away except for a steel filing cabinet and a safe. Every item in the room was meticulously documented via digital voice to spreadsheet, photographed and cataloged for AAA, our home insurance carrier. The spreadsheet provided to us had over 300 items on it. It also detailed retail pricing and use life of each object. More than what we thought was in the room; things we forgot about buried in the closet. Helped us settle with AAA if we had to provide a list of what was damaged by the water / asbestos. This company was provided by AAA insurance after our home caught fire in 2019. Long story short the insurance company would not pay for all of the storage time while the house was being rebuilt and they held what was left of my belongings for ransom until the $8,000 deficit was paid. When we finally obtained our belongings back we we horrified to see the extent of the damage to our belongings from being handled and stored by this company. The damaged incurred estimated in the thousands and the only response from them was that my insurance covered it which is not accurate and they have never responded back to this day. Our insurance company sent this moving company out to pack after some serious home damage. If your insurance company is going to send them, request someone else. They literally THREW things into boxes, like took a drawer dumped it in a box and the sometimessss threw in some paper wrapping and scribbled a few items on the box sticker. They over-stacked everything. I was told they would leave things to be accessed easily since we had to move out quickly after the damage, this was not true. I was told they would send manifests and pictures, that never happened. They packed food that obviously wasn't going to last a week none the less 10 months. So unpacking has sucked and although I was told they would come out things back I wouldn't bother. read more

Use this company at your own risk. I had a fire whit asbestos and the insurance company hired them to remove, clean and replace everything that was not thrown away. My daughter has a large shot glass collection from her and my trips all over the world. When they were returned there were 50-75 plus broken or ruined. We made a deal for them to pay to replace them 1 1/2 years ago. since then no check has been issued and Arli and Andrew will not answer my texts, emails, or phone calls. Even worse is they have the gal who answers the phone lie to me for them. They place her in an impossible situation. The fight goes on so please do your homework before using this company. read more

DO NOT USE CONTENTS SOLUTIONS. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH!!! They stole/lost our property and refuse to replace it. We needed to have the floors in our entire house redone last October due to a flood that started in our kitchen. Our insurance company (Mercury Insurance) recommended we use Contents Solutions, and our insurance company scheduled a rep from CS to come do an estimate. We didn't see any point in looking around for an alternative since our insurance company had recommended them, so we booked them to pack, store, and unpack the contents of our house. The day that they came to pack up the house, they were EXTREMELY unprofessional. They arrived an hour late, and the young man that came to the door didn't introduce himself, and instead just handed me a contract. I said, "I assume you're from Content Solutions?" he said "yeah. you need to sign this" Then one of the two women that was with him walked into the house while I was signing the contract, also didn't introduce herself and just said, "where's the bathroom?". I was very surprised by how disrespectful their team to me and my house, and I immediately felt uncomfortable leaving them responsible for all of my property. I had to leave the house to take my dogs to the boarder, and when I returned, the two women were gossiping loudly while packing about how one of them hadn't received any training to do the job. She said "I'm bound to make mistakes but it won't be my fault since no one showed me how." the other woman confirmed that it's "sink or swim" there and no one gets proper training. I called the company to express my concerns and they told me that the project manager that was supposed to be assigned to our project had had a family emergency, and that the three people that showed up to my house worked under him. They told me that it would be over a week before another team could come, and they told me repeatedly that everyone was fully trained to pack the house and that I had nothing to worry about. I also called my insurance company and they said that they wouldn't pay for the extra time if I wanted to wait for another team to come the following week. We had already paid for a hotel and dog boarding, so at that point we had no choice but to continue with the service. When it was time to do the unpacking that's when the problems really happened. It was hard to schedule the unpacking with them since they were apparently very busy and couldn't fit us in right away. Once they did come to unpack, I met them to let them in to the house and they confirmed that it would be a few days before they were finished and we could stay in the house again. I came to the house a few days later when they said they would be done and the house was still a disaster. The team there unloading (completely different people than the team that packed up) had no idea where anything should go. They said that the team that did the packing hadn't documented anything properly and they had no photos or information of where anything should go. They said that it was the worst packing job they had ever seen and that they were completely in the dark about where things should go. I spent the day unpacking my own kitchen and showing them where the big furniture needed to go. Then at 3pm, they said, "okay, that's it for us, you got the rest?" there were still TONS of unpacked boxes and a lot of work left to be done. I called the company and they said they had done everything they could. My husband and I began the process of unpacking all of the boxes and realized that what they had managed to unpack had all been put back in the wrong place. So the contents of three drawers were now all stuffed into one drawer in a different part of the house, things that used to be displayed in plain view were now stored on high shelves in the back of closets, etc. We had no idea where to find anything in our house and had to go through every inch of the house and reorganize everything. Through this process, we noticed a lot of things were missing/damaged/broken. We compiled a list of every thing and have been arguing- SINCE NOVEMBER of 2013- with them about getting these things replaced and repaired. The owner, Andrew, has never once communicated with us directly and has only made the woman in the office, Arli, communicate with us. She doesn't seem to know anything beyond what he tells her to say and they won't do anything to solve the problem. They sent two guys to our house almost two months ago to see if they could find any of the missing items of they found one gym bag from our list and confirmed that the rest of the items were no longer in our house. It's now been 4 months and we can't get CS to find or replace our missing items. The either stole our property, or lost it and refuse to do anything about replacing it. read more

I can't say enough good things about content solutions. Thy were the best for us. I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THE ONE STAR REVIEWS! The company that did our asbestos remediation recommended CS. Our insurance wanted us to use Serv Pro to do a pack out. We wanted pros. That's what we got! Chris came over and gave us an estimate and was a true gentleman! The team showed a few days later and carefully broke down all items that needed to be disassembled, and blanket wrapped and tagged everything. We were gone for quite some time but CS came back and the pack in was just as amazing as the pack out. All the employees were polite and considerate! Our favorite of them all was Melvyn. Andrew is very professional and I felt that he handled our stressful situation with the same level of attention that he would give his own home. Even the superintendant Scott was very helpful, I felt very comfortable hiring these guys to remove, inventory, clean and return all of the thousands of items that were compromised from our house fire. The guys they send to either pack in or out were not only professional, but nice as well as well informed. They made a difficult situation after a flood palatable and eased my worries every time we spoke. We had water damage to our home and had to have our floors refinished. Contents Solutions was assigned by our insurance company to complete the pack-out of the furniture. They had a Storage pod dropped in our driveway to store the furniture. The team was polite, friendly, efficient, and professional. We had a full China cabinet and every single piece of China and all of our mementos were individually wrapped in bubble wrap. On the day they were suppose to move the furniture back in we had a delay with repairs and the floors were going to require another coat of finish. The team from Contents arrived while I was discussing this with our contractor and they volunteered to come back a couple of days later. That really helped us tremendously. All of our contents were moved back in and we did not find any damaged items. I give Contents Solutions 2 thumbs up. read more

I did not have a Yelp account until I experience really bad customer service from Mercury Insurance and Content Solutions (CS). This is a "preferred vendor" for the insurance company and we were never provided with other alternative business which would have been wise as we live in the Northern part of the San Fernando Valley and not anywhere near Corona which is about 65 miles away. CS came to our home after a fire and I trusted that they would be able to perform the pack out in a professional manner. Every day there was some variation of employees that came to the house and although they were very polite some were not properly trained to provide us with dependable information. As their commute was two hours each way, an eight hour shift would be cut in half and they would also need to get back to the office to write up reports on the inventory. Mind you that the vault list was not very descriptive but this is what happens when employees are trained differently. Unfortunately once Mercury Insurance was no longer willing to pay the storage in Riverside County; we had CS bring our belongings home. The team that dropped off the boxes and stored them in our garage was polite and worked as hard as they could. We had to open over a hundred of boxes and we did our best in a two day span in the blazing summer heat. Our home was under construction and we were not able to have them help us unpack every box but we did notice some items were not clean and other items broken or missing. Mind you that there were tons of boxes and we had multiple construction matters so we were glad to have our belongings back; however, once we began unpacking it became evident that many more items were broken or missing. CS disconnected and stored our whirlpool washer and their staff did not have the knowledge to reinstall the appliance. The washer had remained stationary in our laundry room for years and we had never had a problem with it until it was in the possession of CS. We had our general contractor install the washer and this is when we realized that the appliance was broken. CS hired Allen & Sons come to our house and provide an estimate on the cost to repair. After many emails and unanswered phone messages; we received a check for the repairs but it was less then what the estimate to repair was per their repairing contractor by $239. This was not what I expected. To date, there has been no response on whether CS plans to issue a supplemental check. Andrew Westphal originally seemed very caring and understanding as he came to the house and looked over the new project but at this stage of the pack out, it just seems that customer service is not important anymore. Andrew Westphal failed to respond to any formal form of communication and this appears to be how he runs his business. I think that he is doing his best to run the company but it may be that once his company is paid in full; there is no incentive to respond in a responsible matter to a client. Although I was told that I must provide them with "... 1-2 business days to reply to your calls or emails. I have many clients and do the best I can to make each a priority." This is not reality. CS somehow lost the hardware to our queen bed and we now have a bed frame that we are unable to assemble. They originally said that they would look for the missing hardware in their storage vaults and then they asked us to open all boxes to look for it. It took us three days to open boxes and we did not find it. We expected that the hardware would be taped to the headboard, rails or the footboard but it was not. I asked Andrew Westphal (company owner) to explain to me the process by which they perform a pack out on a bed but to this date; I have not received a response. I don't understand what they think we will do with the bed frame. CS seems to be in denial of what happen and prefers to ignore my communications. If you or anyone is looking for a company to help you move or store your valuables, please video tape and take tons of pictures. Content Solutions will damage your items so if you can choose a different company for the storage or do it yourself it will be best. CS moved our items from one location to another as their company moved offices and in that move damaged our belongings. Save yourself the headache because the insurance company will point at CS and nothing will be resolved. I am very disappointed with CS and I wish things would have worked differently. It was a hassle to move out and a bigger hassle to move back in. We did not have them arrange our belongings back into the house because of the construction and this worked out to CS's advantage in denying liability. The owner of the company will never return a call or respond to an email. Arli Hernandez, the office manager, only go off the instructions she is given but will not return calls either. The insurance company has this vendor on their approved vendor list. If they are the best I would hate to see vendors low on the list, they are a joke. They had no respect for our personal property, they left tape on the blinds and walls, threw away my things, left a mess at the end of every day that they were here that took me at least half an hour a day to clean up. Empty boxes of gloves, used gloves, backing of their labels, pens, sharpies, their coffee cups, everything you could imagine. Arli called to schedule the pack in start time for 9;30 tp 10 am, the truck showed up at 12 noon, I had to call them at 10;40am after my husband waited since 9 am to help them park the box truck on our narrow street. Some of our things were over wrapped with blankets, tape and shrink wrap and some had no protection at all? Most of the things are dirty and have to be cleaned before putting away, but the most disturbing were the vase that was broken and left in a box and my craft things I found on the street. Last December we had a flood due to our water heater failing. Our entire floor had to be replaced. Contents Solutions came out at the request of our insurance provider, AAA. They were prompt and professional. They were very good about packing things up carefully. We had to reschedule several times due to other contractor's schedule slippage and they worked well with us. They took photos of where things and pictures were located prior to packing out. We asked for and received their before photos, but we decided to move some things around, so we did not entirely use their services for placement. They did an efficient job of unpacking items. We recently had a pipe burst in a wall in our home, and our insurance company hired Content Solutions to pack, remove, clean, and return all of our furniture and belongings. I cannot thank them enough for the amazing service they provided for our family...from the moment they first arrived at the house, I knew we were in good hands. They were on time, friendly, professional, and extremely efficient. Some of our furniture was so heavily coated in drywall, I wasn't sure it was salvageable. I was so happily surprised when they came to return everything- everything was extremely clean, from the furniture to the clothing! They even sorted the kids' toys in ziplocks so they were easy to unpack! They re-assembled our furniture and placed it in original spots in the house. The boxes were packed so carefully that nothing had so much as a scratch on it, and the boxes were labeled with such detail that I knew exactly what was in each box before opening it. Wow! I am shocked to read negative reviews! Contents Solutions was THE BEST AND MOST POSITIVE part of a very devastating whole house flood experience my children and I had back in August 2012. The crew came out and professionally and carefully wrapped and packed my furniture and belongings. I had 20 years of belongings including many antiques and treasures left to me by my grandmother. They took extra special care of EVERYTHING including my children and I. They were kind, caring, and helped us laugh and lighten up in a very dark time. That was priceless. The owner himself came out and spent a full Saturday helping me do a full inventory and clean out of the rest of the items left in my garage and put together an itemized list for me and the insurance company. Seriously, this was a devastating event for my family, but Andrew and his team saved as much as possible, were incredibly caring and helpful and restored so much sanity for us. Contents Solutions was contracted by our insurance company after we had a water damage. They packed up our belongings with no issues, and no issues were found until they brought them back. The items that they unpacked and "put back" were put away incorrectly. Dishes were put in a cabinet up above the fridge that anyone would have needed a step stool to reach. Other everyday items were also placed in hard to reach spots, breakables / collectibles were placed in a china hutch that they did not belong in...you would assume they kept a list and / or diagram of where everything belonged when it was time to put it all back. My biggest issue, however, is that our 38 year old hand blown glass wedding cake topper was returned broken. My husband was notified by one of the crew members that it was broken, and left it on the counter. Upon discovering these issues and contacting the company, after I was asked "are you sure it wasn't broken when we picked it up?", I was offered (over a week and a half later) to have the crew come pick up my wedding cake topper so it could be "repaired", as well as return all my items to their original spots. After having felt as though I was slapped in the face, I politely declined their offer, letting them know I did not want them back in my house. I have filed a formal complaint with my insurance company, I have advised friends who need this type of service to go elsewhere and still to this day, I have yet to receive any correspondence from a manager. To add insult to injury, I have found more broken items as I've started to unpack remaining boxes. For the amount of money this company charges, as well as the fact that my house is less than 5 miles away from their storage facilities, I would have hoped that my belongings were safe.
