We were willing to accept some cosmetic damage if things could be safely dried rather than unnecessarily removed and replaced. Other companies we consulted recommended removing portions of the wood flooring, drywall, and cabinetry, so we were preparing ourselves for a much larger demolition and reconstruction project. This team offered us another option: try drying everything in place first using drying mats, a dehumidifier, and containment, while monitoring the moisture levels to make sure it was actually working. What really stood out to me was how thoroughly they explained the process. They showed me the moisture readings in both the affected and unaffected areas, explained the normal baseline they were trying to reach, and walked me through how the equipment and containment would work. I never felt like I was being asked to simply take their word for it. After several days of drying and monitoring, everything reached acceptable moisture levels.
