I had been a loyal Gexa Energy customer for years and was enrolled in their EV program, which…read moreprovided credits for charging my vehicle during nighttime hours. Earlier this year, I was involved in a serious accident and my EV was totaled. I unexpectedly had to purchase a replacement EV. With everything involved in recovering from the accident, dealing with insurance and legal matters, and replacing my vehicle, updating the car in the Gexa app was not an immediate priority. When I eventually tried to update it, I discovered something important: the Gexa app does not provide a simple way to remove the old vehicle and pair the replacement. Even the Gexa representative I talked to could not fix the problem and had to escalate it to their IT team. I had also stopped receiving my nighttime EV charging credits, even though the EV information was still showing in the app. Gexa asked me to provide screenshots of my charging history so they could review the missing credits. What disappointed me most happened when it was time to renew my electricity contract. After being offered another plan that did not make financial sense for me, I asked about continuing with my previous EV-related plan. I was told I was no longer eligible because of the issue with the vehicle/app. That was extremely disappointing after years as a customer. I understand that plans and eligibility requirements can change, but I do not think a customer should be penalized for a technical issue when Gexa's own app does not make replacing a vehicle easy and their own representative had to involve IT to resolve it. I wanted to stay with Gexa. Instead, this experience made me decide not to renew. I hope Gexa reviews how it handles EV replacements, app pairing issues, and long-term customers. Customer loyalty should matter, especially when circumstances outside the customer's control force a vehicle replacement.

To be frank, I was not happy when I first called and was transferred to Lekeisha in the hopes we could come to an agreement on an energy plan. From the very beginning of the conversation I could see the smile on her face as it was conveyed over the phone. This is IT! I fear that this is a quality that has been lost. Well, this conversation should be used as an example for all to hear. From the beginning, Lekeisha began establishing report and empathy with my concerns. Lekeisha actively listened rather than trying to talk over or interrupt. Again, I could clearly hear the smile on her face during the call. It was infectious and I am still smiling from our interaction. Lekeisha is a winner. I'm so glad to be working with a company that values her contributions.

The agent immediately started yelling, berating, and threatening to shut off my account. I informed the agent I had an appointment with Dallas County Health and Human Services for utility assistance, but agent interrupted me and said there was no such agency. She also said I was on a four year energy plan, but I never signed up for that plan. I called Discount Power on August 13, 2026 to make them aware of issue, and asked them to release me from the contract without an early termination fee. They offered an apology for the occurrence, but declined releasing me from contract and the $250 early termination charge. I refuse to do business with a company that treats its customers with a lack of respect, and abusive conduct. I realize that abusive customer service does not constitute a breach of contract, but an obligatory half-hearted apology falls far short of resolving the issue. If you're really seeking lower energy rate, look at Rhythm Energy and Energy Texas. Rates far less than Discount Power.

I am not an employee, stock holder or related to an employee. I am the average electric user just trying to get a fair deal. I received notification from Frontier that my contract was about to expire in early June. They sent an offer with variable rates. I knew my contract was coming to the end, so I was researching companies on "PowertoChoose.org" website. Frontier is the best overall for my needs. The other companies look like a great deal with their kwh rates, but when you start adding on all of the additional fees they do not compare with Frontier. There are also some companies that look better, until you find out that they are not accredited with the BBB. I spoke with the Frontier representative and asked if I had missed any cheaper products, and indeed I had. He sent me the Fact Sheet on a 100% Renewable Product. I am so excited, I can now go GREEN and save some green! Best of both worlds. Thank you Frontier. You really should consider this company.
