He took the time to explain the pros and cons of each option, including the option to do labor only with the warranty parts from the original units manufacturer. I opted to upgrade to American Standard and all the necessary work and materials needed to integrate it into our current system. Installation was early the next morning. Installers were very courteous, extremely careful and clean. For such a major project, the commotion and disruption was negligible. After installation Kevin returned to inspect the unit and answer all of my questions ( I had many). He explained everything and even drew diagrams for me. We went through the work done and I was amazed at the amount of work they did to troubleshoot and modify some other things during installation that fixed problems I had not even mentioned I had ! These were things I thought were just home design issues...but no, Master Air found a duct work problem and fixed it. I now have an upstairs that is a cool as my downstairs! They did not add anything onto the quoted price for this additional adjustment. My AC is better than ever and I am very happy with everyone at Master Air. They were all great to work with. I will absolutely use them again.

I asked, what for, since Ralph said there wasn't a charge & left - John stated, "I don't know a company would stay in business if we didn't charge for this" - I paid the $99 charge, but I think it's horrible business to wait until 30 days after someone comes out to send a bill. The only negatives were that I thought that maybe some of their pricing might be a bit high and that the receptionist (call center?) didn't really know anything about anything.... Overall, I feel that Vanderford Air took my issue seriously and did their absolute best to get my repairs made. Unfortunately, my experience over the last three years has been the exact opposite. I purchased a brand-new A/C system in July 2023. Within a week, it wasn't cooling properly due to low refrigerant. The same issue happened again in 2024, but instead of finding the leak, I was told to spend more money on a second return. They installed the wrong return box, damaged my ceiling, and later I discovered they failed to connect the drain properly, causing water damage inside my wall that I had to repair myself. In July 2026, the system again wasn't cooling. The technician confirmed the condenser coil was leaking, even though I had complained about refrigerant loss since shortly after installation. When I spoke with Service Manager Dan, he claimed there was no history of my previous service calls until I provided documentation. Rather than taking responsibility, he dismissed my concerns and refused to let me contact the owner directly. After negotiating, I agreed to pay $1,200 because I was promised the leaking coil would be replaced and the incorrect return installation would finally be corrected. When repair day arrived, the crew wasn't even Vanderford employees--they were third-party subcontractors. They showed up with the coil but knew nothing about fixing the return box. While working, one of the subcontractors fell from my attic ladder carrying equipment. I was more concerned about making sure he was okay than Vanderford seemed to be. I requested a call from management and never received one. After spending thousands on a new HVAC system, I've dealt with repeated refrigerant leaks, poor workmanship, home damage, broken promises, and a lack of accountability. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Vanderford Air.

I was worried about carbon monoxide getting into the house. I had to shut off the gas to it. I called Cother Monday afternoon and got a preliminary estimate over the phone for a new furnace. They sent a rep to look at it that day. I agreed on a Ruud system. Their crew came the next morning and replaced the entire furnace in 4 hours! The crew was quick, clean and very polite. And best of all, I had a working furnace heating up my home for my wife and kids just as the ice storm was starting to pelt the house. After they put the old heat exchanger outside, I was able to verify cracks in it. My concerns about carbon monoxide poisoning were right on. Could have been a disaster. Cother Air Conditioning & Heating's price was very fair, their service was professional and quick, and all trash was taken away when they left. We were concern that we will end up paying a lot of money to fix the system. We search around online, especially social media, asking for recommendations on Facebook, Google and Nextdoor. We have never experience a situation like this, since we resided mostly in US Army Post, so things like this it was taken care of by Army Housing. Basically, we didn't know what to expect. A neighbor from the adjacent subdivision next to ours recommended on Nextdoor to give a call to Dalton Air Conditioning and Heating. She said she has used their services for years and we should give them a try. We did call other services, but so far, they haven't called me back. We call Dalton, early in the morning, around 8:00am, and Katy was able to find us a same day appointment with Mr. Charles Eagan. We truly appreciate that she took our time seriously, since we had to take time off from work to deal with this.
