Horrid service. Was told somebody would be here between 8-5, and at 8 o'clock we got a text message stating someone would be in contact shortly. It's now 3:30 and nobody has reached out or been here. Called customer service to see what's going on and was told our order was suspended because the person coming to set it up knocked on our door with no answer. We've been sitting in our living room which has the only door to our place since 7 this morning. We watched a consolidated van drive by without stopping around the time they said they knocked, but assumed at the time that they were heading to another house. Took a day off work to be here for this. Horrible customer service and technicians that can't do their job. read more

have had poor communication on phone line every time we have a rainstorm. also I have not had internet service for three months, yet my bill has been paid on time every month( we have auto pay from our bank acct.). I have communicated my problem to the company several times and I get the same response (we'll have someone get in touch with you). Don't know what happened to Consolidated over the years, they use to be a good company. I always pay my bill to consolidated usually 2 weeks early then the due date because they are slow in cashing a check. I been told numerous times it's the postal service's fault, which I think is Bullcrap. I mailed out a check a check to them at the end of September, payment wasn't due until Oct 16. Kept checking with my bank to see if the check was cashed, but wasn't cashed yet on October 19th. Called customer service several times and was told by one of their customer service that my service would be cut off if I didn't pay the bill. On October 19th I made a payment thru their phone system. I am a person who always balances out my checking account. On October 20th they finally cashed the check that I sent to them in September for the October payment. So now I made 2 payments to them for the month of October. I called several times requesting my money back for one of the payments and was told it would take 18 days or longer to refund one of the payments back to me. I told that customer service person that you might be causing a person to be overdrawn on their checking account or possibly bouncing another check that the person mailed out to another company. I told her I will make a complaint to the Attorneys General's office in my state. She said go ahead and do that and hung up me. Again today which is October 30th I called their customer service again since I still have not received a refund for the overpayment. I was informed that I will be receiving a credit back on November 2nd we shall see. If you go to the BBB site you will see that they have many complaints against them and also read the reviews. Their customer service seems to repeat the same thing to all their customers. The BBB is recommending people to use caution in using this company for their internet, phone service or TV service. read more

I live in Columbia County New York where my telephone service was provided by Taconic Telephone, who was acquired by Fairpoint, which was in turn acquired by Consolidated. On Monday after a round of thunderstorms our line went dead, which I did not discover until Tuesday late afternoon. I called on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the service was restored around noon on Saturday. Unbelievably a tech called our dead line on Wednesday to ask if our line was dead, a message we did not get until Saturday, even more unbelievable a support representative told me that they have no system tools to identify the outage, that can only be done by human crews. Remarkable technology for the third decade of the 21st century. We will now likely sign up for the phone service provided by our cable provider. read more

There service has gone down hill the last few years, We have had them for years, several months ago started having lots of freezing and loss of internet, i'd call they'd do a few things then basically tell me I have one of the fastest speeds available and its only because others are online in the area. Over the weekend Its freezing, slow, and then just stops, I call them, get someone who barely speaks english, tell me yep your broadband is out, we'll send a tech, put me in for over a week away, I said thats not going to work since I use my internet to stream TV and everything, I cannot go over a week without internet, guy apologizes and said he will work on getting me a sooner ticket, two days later I call figuring its during the week I'll get someone who speaks english, NOPE she tells me the same thing oh you haVe an appt with a tech already, I said I know over a week away, I asked if my bill is going to get credited, she can't make that decision. I decide i'm going to call another company, they give me an appointment for two days,they were on time and pleasant. I called to cancel my internet with consolidated and they acted like they didn't care. They lost a loyal customer and I will make sure to tell everyone to choose another provider who cares. read more

I have never in my life seen a company so poorly mismanaged. I actually do not know how they are still in business. Just pray nothing ever goes wrong with your internet or you will spend a WEEK trying to navigate their "ticket" system which is basically them promising to sending a tech out from 8am-7pm while you sit there all day and they never show up. Took three days off from work to stay home for it, they ended up showing up announced 5 days later. We spent (no exaggeration) 2 hours on the phone with them for 6 days in a row PLEADING for help after our "ticket" magically disappeared day after day. Standed in rural NH with no internet access or way to communicate with the outside world because there are no Verizon towers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, TRY SPECTRUM!!! read more

This is the worst internet company, in Southern Maine. We have been customers with them for years. We started when they were Fairpoint Communications. Where we only needed internet; this was the better option, than a cable company. There isn't much competition, and it reflects in their service. To pay for their highest speed and never once come close. The internet would go off, at least twice a day. We made dozens of calls, to have countless technicians come out. (many times that we called, they had us listed in address from 8 years ago!) And each technician tells us a different reason, for the problems. Our latest visit (by a tech), we were told that the wires outside, are not made to support such high speed! He went on to say "you are entitled to get money back". We ordered new service, with Spectrum, on Friday. Their tech came out within an hour, on a Friday night, to connect us. The speed is faster than we could have imagined. The cost is 1/3 of what we were paying. Today, I called Consolidated Com, to cancel. I was told that because I just started service, last week for a 2 year contract, there would be a "cancellation fee". After my demanding they look to see we were not "new customers", I was told the fee was "waived". So in a nutshell, this company sucks. read more

I went on their Facebook page and they said to message them info and they would get back to me. Lies again as I haven't heard from anyone. After 3 months of phone calls, several missed appointments, and numerous apologies...finally fixed.... They were gracious enough to not charge me! They told me all the time I spent on the phone and rearranging my schedule was not compensatory! You think maybe a free month of service would of been the least they could ...but that was asking too much. Never followed up either closed out a ticket even though service wasn't restored. Holy crap are these guys awful when they were FairPoint point, not a bad company. I had left Comcast because of all the reasons that everybody knows about and FairPoint seem to have integrity. Damn did that change. I've had intermittent internet service for almost 3 months. I Spent my nights at McDonald's using their Wi-Fi. Spent over eight hours on the phone with tech support having many work orders created only to have the message the following day saying everything's all set nothing was all set. Every time you call there is no log history from your previous five or six phone calls what the hell what a waste of my life dealing with these guys. They were so bad I went back to Comcast I'm spending $35 more a month but I have working internet. I would give negative stars if I could. Do yourself a favor and listen to the other reviews on here - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Please read all the reviews. Unfortunately my husband saw promises of "faster" and "cheaper" but 1) If something seems to good to be true, it probably is and 2) You get what you pay for. In this case we paid for horribly slow internet and and customer service that sucks. There's been an outage in our service area (Southern Maine - 45 minutes from Boston) for the last two days. I called their customer service line and the person I spoke with sounded like she was calling from under a hole in the ground or a pile of blankets (muffled and difficult to understand). When I asked for the reason behind the outage and the estimated time for it to be back up, she said "I don't know. I don't have any details." How can you not have any details? If a plane is delayed they generally have some sort of answer - weather, crew, maintenance - and estimated time of departure. If the internet is down for two days, I'm guessing there is some sort of identifiable reason that should be shared with customers. She transferred me to a "supervisor" and he repeated the same thing. No answers. We will be switching our service ASAP and I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Heed my warning: Do not use Consolidated. read more

I currently moved from Danville NH to Hampstead Nh. Literally 5 minutes away from each other. I called consolidated communication on 12/4 to cancel my service at my old address and start service at my new address as of 1/4. I called them 2 times a week from 12/4 to current date 1/14. Took them that long to connect my internet. Every time I called the customer service sucked! No one cared whether or not my internet was connected or was ever going to be connected. This was the worst experience ever. If I did not work from home and needed connection I would have told them to stick their company, customer service and internet up their ass. I asked when they took over Fairpoint and 2 people repeated ahhh ahhh I'm not sure I THINK awhile ago. Customer service and billing couldn't answer my question so in 48 hours a supervisor will contact me. I've been a fiber internet customer in Walpole NH since Oct / 21. I find the quality of Consolidated Communications residential customer service and tech support completely sub-par. I was initially sold on the concept of reliability at a reasonable monthly cost. Since switching I have had bad experiences each time I've called for support. Customer service hours are limited (closes at 5 p.m EST- with no way to resolve issues beyond that time). Tech support is open later but has no access to the customer services systems. I have been put on hold indefinitely, transferred to another office and dropped. When attempting to call customer service, was redirected to a marketing service offering $100 vouchers. Beware of a fault in Voice Mail with fiber services. The service does NOT support SMS / EMAIL notifications (the customer service rep admitted she could find no documentation and queried 3 other tech support persons before determining this was not possible - thus, if you are traveling and receive an urgent Voice Mail message, you have no way of knowing it was received. Isn't this a standard feature these days?) The website FAQs offer a VoiceMail directions PDF, but the "Special Directives" instructions for text notifications apparently applies only to their legacy copper-based system. Yes, the service is reliable at a competitively low cost, but it will come at the cost of a complete lack in customer support. read more

I can't even begin to express my rage at the horrible customer service. I have internet and phone in my home and recently discontinued phone. My internet went down and I called on a Sunday. They could not even locate my account for almost 30 minutes. Tech support was rude and condescending. The worst part, I am supposed to be having internet installed in my office today and I called to request a new time. They again cannot even locate the information that I have an appointment today. My business may be without internet which would not allow me to run efficiently. They could not care less! Were so u helpful and clueless. Horrible customer service. Twice someone called in and canceled my account I called them and both times took weeks to reactivate my service. This time they told me the earliest is the 15th that's last week and I have two kids doing remote learning. Absolutely not I went to comcast and same day installed. The speeds with Comcast are unmatched. And it's only 20$ more a month. Consolidated I was lucky to get speeds of 15mbps with the top paid plan. But Comcast I have a mid level plan and am pushing 250 mbps easily. Please stay away from consolidated read more

Customer for nearly three years. Internet has been down for a week. Spent hours & hours working with them to try & resolve. Technician was scheduled to come out, I took work off. The technician no shows. No returned calls. Now I am being told I will have to wait another week for a technician to likely no show again. Paying for a service they are not providing. I was guaranteed a repair between 10am and noon today. It is now almost 3pm and no tech. I have placed multiple calls and support has been no help at all. If honesty and response time are important to you, this is not the company for you. If you're considering high speed internet with them, don't be influenced by the "$xx.xx for two years" as I was. IT'S NOT TRUE. I started the service in March and six months later they raised my rate. I left a message with customer service to see if a mistake had been made and two days later got a call back stating that there's no guarantee that the rate won't go up. I just can't see how this is legal even with a fine print disclaimer that rates are subject to change. My Father is deaf and uses a captioned phone. Consolidated has only been offering 3mbps for several years now here in Landaff NH and it's simply not fast enough to keep up and constantly disconnects from the captioned phone, especially when we are here visiting and also trying to use this archaic service. Our neighbors mentioned that they had just been upgraded to 25mbps so he decided to attempt to call but after 3 attempts of endless voicemail options and hours of hold time, he gave up. Therefore, I tried and after 25 minutes got a real person on the phone and she was helpful until it came time to make the appointment which required another 20 minutes of "hold time" and gave us an appointment for 5 weeks out which was just absurd even after explaining this captioned phone is his only connection to the world. Just a shameful company!! So glad we don't have to deal with this horrendous and incompassionate company! read more

These people are complete idiots. Unfortunately I still have 2 land lines from them. I am trying to update my autopay credit card information but they require it be done on line. When I ask for a new password re-set, they say they will send me an email link to do so. Nothing ever comes through despite repeated requests and the fact that my email is working fine- nothing from them in my inbox or in my junk folder. I keep getting the runaround. They neglect to call for appointments that are months in advance and continuously push out your appointments to then tell you there are not enough lines to run service. Where do I even start with how disgusted I am by Consolidated Communications? Back in July, I began working from home as I have 2 school aged children that were doing remote learning. Working from home and remote learning depend on a reliable internet service. Shortly after starting my new job, Consolidated Communications called and asked if I wanted to upgrade my service to support the additional devices we now had on the wifi. For an additional $20 a month I could upgrade my service to cover all my devices. I was told my bill would go from $44 a month to $64 a month and my service would not be interrupted during the upgrade so I agreed. Within 30 minutes of agreeing to this upgrade, my service was completely gone! I immediately called CCI back to report the outage and NO ONE could tell me why this happened. I told the person I spoke with that I wanted to cancel the upgrade and just stay with the current service since we hadn't been having any issues with it and I was told the upgrade would be canceled. It took 7 days for CCI to get to my home to "fix" my service. Over the course of 7 days, I called CCI 27 times to get a time frame for when my service would be back. Working from home in the middle of a pandemic makes it difficult to go sit at Starbucks or the library. Fast forward to Monday when I get a bill from CCI for $88. When I called to find out why, I was told it was because of my upgrade. I explained to the woman that I canceled my upgrade the day I got it. She had no record of ANY of my calls, not even my service calls, after the call to get the upgrade. She said I needed to speak with a supervisor who would call me back. Its now Thursday, 4 days later, and I get a call from the supervisor who tells me that I should be grateful as CCI credited my account for the $349 early termination fee. I'm sorry, WHAT?! I still have service, why am I being charged an early termination fee? She went on to say that my upgrade was never canceled and that I agreed to the $88 charge when I emailed the public utilities commission. I NEVER emailed the public utilities commission. She went on to say that it wasn't her fault that my upgrade didn't get canceled and I should "do a better job of keeping track of my phone calls". I asked to be put back on the original plan i had that was $44 a month and was told that plan was no longer available and would cost $69. She couldn't even tell me where the additional $24 came from as the upgrade cost was supposed to be $64 and I was billed for $88. I asked to speak with her supervisor to which i was told that I could not speak with anyone at this time and my service would be canceled immediately. She legit disconnected my service while I was still on the phone with her and then hung up on me. The customer service I have received from CCI is beyond disgraceful. I was a customer with CCI when they were Fairpoint and have never been spoken to in such a demeaning manor. I tried to log into my account and my account was canceled so I cant even remove my billing information for the charges that I am sure they are going to try and bill me for. I will be calling the better business bureau and I will NOW be emailing the public utilities commissioner. This is disgraceful and disgusting and CCI really needs to work on employing representatives who are respectful and know how to do their job. read more

I wish I had kept a log of all the phone calls and conversations I have had over the last few months. I probably should have known what was coming when I made my first call to set up service and got to the very end of the call thinking it was all set, then the rep told me they couldn't complete the order that day and would have to call me in a few days. I never got a call from them, so I called back. The majority of reps I have talked to have little to no training and so the next phone call ends up as a correction of what the previous rep did/entered. The day of installation, the technician said he had no record of the phone service I ordered, only the internet service. I thought it was just rotten luck but now that I read all of the other reviews, I see there really is an issue with them. I ended up cancelling my service after the third call to get my phone service set up. read more

They just raised rates by about $10 without warning and I sent them an email about it last week and they have not responded. They asked us to allow an 8am-5pm window, that is, a whole day taken off work. No one shows up. There's no call, no explanation, no offer to reschedule. I call at 2pm to confirm someone is coming. Yes, I'm told, it's on the schedule. No one came. So I call again this morning. I realize there actually is no schedule. No record, no explanation, no information, I can get on the "next available" appointment list--but what does that mean? Another day off work, hoping someone will come? And all those little orange flags we put on your lawn without asking you -- many thanks for that too. We truly thank you for the dozens of phone calls you made to the City of Concord, the utility intermediary, Dig Safe and finally our subcontractor who assured you the orange markings did not indicate where the work would take place. Though we really saw no need to notify your neighborhood of our major project, we tried our best to assuage your irrational female fears and told you that the real work would take place down the street. We only marked your utilities to make sure we didn't harm them. And we sure did appreciate your further cooperation when, a week later, you found a crew excavating a huge crater at the bottom of your driveway so we could fix our faulty line that provides service in another neighborhood. Oh, and thanks for letting our administrative assistant get so abusive with you on the phone after you spent more than an hour getting the run-around and put on hold for 20 minutes at a clip -- until we bounced you to the next uncooperative representative. Because you were so high maintenance and needed reassurance, we sent out a manager guy in a hard hat to walk your property with you and promise that your driveway would not be harmed even as we claimed our "right of way" to bore underneath it. And now that we've dug up your grass and replaced it with wood shavings, and allowed you to have a placating email exchange with our President of NH Operations, we'd like to leave you with this little thank you gift for your driveway: A huge divot and cracks caused by our heavy equipment. If it was possible to give negative stars, I would! I thought it was bad when it was fairpoint but this is so much worse! My account was paid in full and I was still without service for over a week. I knew for a fact the the issue was outside the house but kept being told the issue was inside the house. Mind you, you wait at least 30 minutes on hold before you can talk to anyone. When they FINALLY actually sent someone out, they fixed the problem OUTSIDE THE HOUSE...just like I had be saying. To attempt to appease me, they offered me faster service, a new motum and a cheaper price! The catch? You have to be there between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday...my work hours, of course! I had a planned day off in about 2 months...waited all day, and no ine showed up! No call either. I try to give the benefit of doubt and rescheduled another 2 months away, when I knew I had time off, today...I've been waiting 6 hours when I get an automated call saying, once again, they're not showing up...but will show up sometime tomorrow. This obviously won't work because I work! Waited on hold 35 minutes to be basically told, oh well. I would suggest going ANYWHERE else and paying more just to not have to deal with them! read more

I receive a bill for 88.00 for the company listed above. Last month the bill was 21.00 due to all the issues I had in August. I called and they told me it was for an upgrade that I ordered which I did but cancelled that evening. They told me that without the upgrade my monthly bill will be 66.00 they said because I cancelled my service and this is the new rate. Wrong I never cancelled my service so I am not paying a higher rate. They asked who I spoke to which they all know they don't give there name. I asked to speak with a supervisor they said there are 4 on but that they didn't know who was available so no you can't speak to a supervisor. I have never seen customer service so bad in my life. I will be filing a complaint with the attorney general and better business. I am disgusted with this company.
