Measurements are to 1/16 of an inch and we were thrilled. You will never find anyone like her. She is an engineer, designer and an architect. If you want your kitchen done fast and cheap; go somewhere else. If you want it done just once and beautifully; make an appointment with Maya. I have done 5 kitchens over my life and this was by far the best one. A few things you should know regarding a total redo of a kitchen like we did. 1-The process will take time, probably longer than you think, and you can not rush it 2-It will cost more than you think for crazy things you will pick out later in the process. I just spent $112 for special electrical faceplates on Amazon because they were gorgeous. Hacker Kitchens is responsible for cabinets, appliances (which are frequently incorporated into the cabinets), backsplash and countertops. You may need a general contractor for specialities like electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc. She may be able to help with recommendations or I would be happy to share names of the professionals that I used in the NY, CT area. When we moved to Croton in 2019, we had plans for updating and customizing our home. We tried really hard to find good contractors, having had bad experiences in the past. Unfortunately we kept having one bad experience after another. Bad quality, unfinished work, open permits, huge delays, big increases in cost from the estimates, and in general headaches for us to deal with. Fernando came in and fixed all our problems. Other contractors took 3 months to grade, install a basic stone wall, and dig a hole for a rain garden. Then they quoted us $45k to finish the work. When we said that was too high they left us with a mess. Fernando took 6 days to do that same work for half the cost. Then on top of that he fixed a huge mistake the other crew made on the rain garden and installed a good system that makes us much more confident our home is protected from big storms. The whole time he was much more transparent about materials and cost and timing than anyone else we dealt with. We're hoping that he's available for all our future projects and so happy that we finally found such a great contractor. Don't hesitate to choose Vista Construction, and you're welcome to visit our place anytime if you want to see how nice his walls look. Then all of a sudden, all of these new reviews dated around the same time just pop up gushing about Rusal. I saw similar positive reviews of Rusal on Angies List back in 2012 - that was why I hired him. I did not like Jay at all when I met him, but he had all those good reviews on Angies.... Hiring Jay was my first mistake, purchasing from his recommended vendor was the second and worst mistake. I don't believe those reviews are real, perhaps they are, but I suspect they come from friends or employees. In addition, I highly suspect that all those pictures of beautifully designed and crafted bathrooms and kitchens on his web site were NOT built/made by Jay and Rusal. They appear to be stock photos and/or photos from other websites that Jay is using, I also suspect, without permission, On Angie's List, I had to really dig in to find Rusal's record and it states on their page that Servidio violated some contract terms so Angies is no longer listing Rusal. Also, when I GOOGLED Jay and his wife Carol, all I can say is wow, just wow. All I am sharing is that after hiring Rusal back in May 2012, my bathrooms are still incomplete, Jay has been sending my family threats, and he owes me money back. If you want this kind of person in your life, in your house, then hire him by all means.
