Cute cafe spot with a nice outdoor seating area. The food menu looked tasty and healthy, but my family and I just stopped by for coffee drinks. We ordered a Buddha bullet, Dirty Punjabi, and a drip coffee. The Buddha bullet and drip coffee were very watered down and lukewarm, not good at all. We like this the cafe and will give it another try soon. We hope this one bad experience was an anomaly. read more

Simple but beautiful place with delicious dishes with nutritive value, friendly Chef Natasha, the owner of the place and friendly staff. Chef is gracious and humble to accept suggestions to make food even better. We tried 2 of their teas which were excellent. Definitely try their khichidee soup (whole vegetarian meal). Stopped in here for lunch on our way out of town today and have not stopped raving about our meal. I ordered the earthy Buddha bowl with chicken and it was phenomenal - highly recommend. My fiancé ordered the kale salad with chicken and it was a warm salad which was unexpected but very tasty. Also had a cup of coffee which was the best coffee we've had in quite awhile. Overall really enjoyed our meal here and sad we don't have this closer to home! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a "clean" meal in the area read more

Awesome place! The meals are healthy and wholesome and delicious!! Anna and Laura are so welcoming and kind and helpful. We are here 2 times and brought our pup. We were driving through town and decided we needed to get a bite to eat for lunch. We saw this place and decided to try it, so, so glad we did. Everything is homemade and prepared with so much care. I had the kitchadee soup with the addition of their pulled beef. So savory and delicious. Also tried the beef noodle broth. Also absolutely delicious. Do try the homemade chai tea. The restaurant was also 100% wheelchair accessible, with a push button front door and nice sized bathrooms. Totally worth a stop in town. read more

I was so thankful that we stopped here on our way to Bar Harbor. I had the Earthy Budda Bowl which was exactly what I needed after too much rich food in Portland. My husband had the Maple Mustard Seared Salmon with Sauteed Spinach Mushrooms & Sweet Potato Mash and it was literally the BEST thing we ate on vacation! I was so happy they also had healthy juices, I had the green energizer juice which came fully packed with pea protein. I stumbled upon the Steamy Buddha Cafe while going over the river and through the wood this Christmas visiting family in Ellsworth ,ME. The first person I met was a visiting Bikram instructor named Rhupi. She was welcoming and lead an amazing class. The hot room was warm and inviting. There were little white Christmas lights and the room had the gentle scent of jasmine. At the end of the 90 minute class Rhupi sang beautiful 8,000 year old chants and placed a cold lightly- scented towel on my forehead. What an attention to detail. She taught us how to smile and enjoy our time there. After class I had the opportunity to indulge in the cafe. The food was delicious. Most is local (when available)and the owner Keagan wanted to make sure that our dietary needs were taken care of. I had the roasted Kale salad with potato soup. My daughter had the Buddha bowl. Thankfully my family is planning on staying in Ellsworth for years to come so I can continue to frequent this delightful place that is nourishing to my body and soul! read more

WOW! The food was amazing! Wonderful menu with highest quality ingredients! The chef carefully prepares each dish with whole foods and herbs. I felt energized the next day and hiked 12 miles at Acadia. I had the salmon entree that was served with sweet potatoes, mushrooms, spinach and beets. Fourth time here and I will just say this place is a hidden gem of Downeast Maine. Today's choice for lunch the nautical Buddha bowl. A large helping of cauliflower rice, kelp and applewood smoked dulce cooked in a lemon vinaigrette topped with salmon, avocado, peppers and onions cooked in there house maple Dijon sauce. This creation gives any foodie a flavor explosion from the second you take your first bite. The presentation is nice lots of color and only the freshest ingredients. To wash it all down a house made iced Chaga tea with maple syrup. Probably one of the healthiest places to eat in the area and with that I give this meal an A++. read more

We stumbled upon this and we are SO glad we did! Everyone there not only was extremely friendly, they were very conscious of how food treats people. Without hesitation they offered up recommendations and they were a slam dunk! With a type I diabetic in the family, their low carb pancakes allowed us to indulge and feel normal. Their homemade chai is to die for and the special of the day (goats cheese, kale, sourdough, poached eggs, dressed salad, spicy homemade sausage) should be a regular menu item!
