While I was in town visiting a friend, she mentioned that Cone Palace has puppy chow flavored ice cream, so I had to come try it. Tasty! This should be a flavor everywhere. It is a low key, good value place, doesn't appear to be part of a chain, and I was impressed. There was an interview going on near our table, and it sounds like they pay higher than minimum wage and treat their employees decently based on the interview, so that's always a plus! read more

This is a Kokomo institution. The place where at least one of your friends or you worked in high school. Awesome slushy drinks. Watermelon Sprite please and thank you! The coney dogs, tenderloins, corn dogs, and ice cream are all on the money. It's good food, and a decent price. Fare like you remember getting from the ballpark food stands after a game. I've never had the actual food at the Cone Palace, but the ice cream is good enough that we come back every time we're in Kokomo. It's similar to Dairy Queen's ice cream, but it's better and it's of better quality. They also have more flavors. This ice cream shop is clean, bright, and we've never had any issues with the staff or the food. I love to see locally-owned places like this doing well, and it certainly is...it's usually pretty busy! UPDATE: Burger actually isn't half bad for fast food! Much better than McDonald's. read more

I accidentally left my jacket there and went back a couple of days later to get it. The employee I talked to was rude when I asked her if they had it and she said that they got rid of it. Pretty disappointed about losing my jacket but even more disappointed about how the rude employee was. read more

The most I'll get is the corn dogs and maybe pork tenderloin when they're on special. As for the ice cream, yeah it's good. It's soft serve.. Why is it that almost every single time I come through the Cone Palace drive thru something on my order is wrong? Then when you let them know about the mistake so you can get your item correct, they make a huge deal of it and do not want to fix their mistakes!! Tonight I was given an arctic swirl with ice cream dripping over the top and all down the sides. I couldn't even put it in my car. It was a huge mess. When I worked at Cone Palace, there was no way that I would have been able to hand something out to a customer that was that messy. They should have remade it, but instead they give me a cup and say I can poor the ice cream from the messy cup into the new one. What? When you go to the grocery, you don't get a pint of ice cream that is melting everywhere and then have to transfer to another container. They should have remade it right away and made it correctly. It took me 15 minutes to clean up the sticky mess that was all over my car on the inside and outside. I had to scoop the ice cream from one cup to the other on top of an outdoor trash can lid and then as I am sanitizing the bottom of my cup and my hands inside my car, I threw the wipes that were a mess to the ground while I finished, then was going to throw it all away at the end and some lady comes rolling up like she knows everyone's business and tells me to stop throwing my trash on the ground because it is going everywhere!! Are you kidding me? It was two ice cream soaked wet wipes that I throw on the ground by my car, so I could finish cleaning Cone Palace's lousy service up, and then go throw all of it away in the trash can and she thinks I am the one making the mess!! I would never litter!! NEVER!! I finished cleaning my cup and spoon and threw everything away in their trash can along with the two wipes off the ground, that were going to be picked up all along. First of all, Cone Palace needs to get some adults in there that know how to be managers and not just a bunch of high school and college aged kids who have no clue what real customer service looks like!! Second off, people need to mind their own business and not just yell something out their window as they drive by. If that lady would have paid attention she could have seen the mess I was struggling with from the item I was served and how I had been cleaning everything up as I went along!! Don't get in other's business if you have no clue what you are talking about!! I am sick of fast food places being rude to their customers and I am sick of people in this world in general being rude to one another!! Grow up and pay attention!! Don't judge people by what you think you saw, when you clearly have no clue what you are talking about. And last, but not least, Cone Palace and every other fast food joint in this town needs to hire some people that actually care about their customers and provide quality products!! My husband is from Kokomo so whenever we make the venture up to see family I HAVE to stop at conepalace. They the most amazingly cream rich yummy milkshakes I've ever had! Occasionally I'll get a corn dog or onion rings. You can get a giant 32oz for under $4, it's definitely a gluttonous purchase but nobody will know (except all the people I just told here!). If I've already a big meal I will at least stop and get a large Coke with cherry syrup. My husband frequently gets vanilla Mountain Dew and swears by it! If you're ever going through Kokomo, be sure to stop at this local hotspot for all your dairy-filling needs! read more

I am originally from Kokomo and grew up going to Cone Palace pretty often. When I became a teenager I had my own "parking spot" and I STILL park in that spot when I visit! Chocolate Coke, Vanilla Mountain Dew, Chili Dog with mustard, fried cauliflower with nacho cheese. This place is and will always be the BEST fast food/ice cream joint on the planet. Oh and the milkshakes... Out of this world delicious! The family has owned the place for decades and it seems like they are always adding something or remodeling to keep up with the times. The quintessential locally owned ice cream shop. It's clean, well-maintained, and staffed with fresh-faced Hoosiers. The breaded pork tenderloin was good, but the fries and onion rings were outstanding in my book. They don't salt their fries though--at least not that I could tell. If you're ordering "to-go," request salt packets. And I wish they'd offer ketchup in those new-fangled dipping packets. But anyway... Ice cream is the reason Cone Palace exists. I ordered a lemon shake, expecting a sweet-tart combination, but it was only sweet, so I was a little disappointed. He ordered some sort of shake with candy mixed in it. I tried it--good, but who doesn't like ice cream and candy? I believe I will order a straight-up cone next time and will update my review accordingly. For now, I suggest you try Cone Palace, simply for the slice of central-Indiana-American-pie you'll find there. (Note: I am not referring to a literal pie.) Now, if it's pie you want, Kokomo, Indiana, is the place to be. The drive thru always looks long during the summer time but they do an excellent job of keeping it moving. The only reason I can't give it all 5 stars is because their regular hard ice cream flavor choices aren't clearly displayed when you use the drive thru....that's a lot of info for them to rattle off and a quick decision for you to make! read more
