This is THE WORST airline I have ever flown. It started w/ ground crew being "temps" from some agency. They had nothing invested in the company so being rude didn't matter. Flight crew was from Condor. But that didn't help when the plane was 1.5 hr late leaving. Leg room & seat size the smallest I have ever experienced. The meal which cost extra was mediocre at best. No wifi onboard. TV & movies were also extra. Reading lites didn't work for several hrs into the flight. The longest & most uncomfortable trip I have ever taken on an airplane. The return trip was not as bad. One can't change seat size, or pitch. The food was much better & each seat had a bottle of water The ground crew,their own this time was still inept. The boarding procedure is unbelievably slow-at least 2x longer than comparable airlines. We boarded a bus & waited for at least 20 min for no announced reason, drove around a couple of buildings to climb a stairway which led to an interior jetway to the plane. The plane was late leaving but made up some time & arrived only 20 min late. This was the 2nd time Condor gates were makeshift & not user friendly. I purchased these tickets last minute -the prices were lower-but I would not do it again. read more

I don't even want to give them one star! This is the worst airlines we have ever flown!!! Smallest seats that are hard and uncomfortable with zero leg room!! My husband is 6 foot + and he literally could not even fit in his seat--his knees jammed into the seat in front of him. The seats recline a good 4-6 inches so by the time the person in front of you reclines theirs, you literally cannot move. We flew with a child and if something got dropped, she couldn't even reach between the seats to get it. The food was awful --even the upgraded food we paid for! The child's meal was gross but had a giant (melted) Kit Kat bar plus 2 other desserts on it and and a sugary drink. Way to go Condor!! Now the poor parents have to keep that kid in their seat for 10 hours!! By the time we purchased upgraded meals (which were still bad), movie access(free on most other airlines) and seats with more legroom, it cost the same as a British Air, Swiss Air or Air France flight. Do yourself a favor and book one of those instead!!! read more

10 REASONS TO NEVER FLY CONDOR AIRLINES...This review is based on "the" maiden flight from Providence, RI to Frankfurt, Germany and my return 10 days later, prompted by seeing a WSJ Travel Cover article, being reminded that Condor (Thomas Cooke) Airline entirely ignored my letter of complaint from my trip, further cementing the 1-star rating. Booking on Condor was simple and only slightly less priced then Lufthansa and others. While there are $700 fares, we paid nearly $900, and given the 'extra' charges for luggage, food, beer or wine, and headsets, ignoring the service detractors, the costs seem to equate. First issue, Condor provided no connecting flight tickets. Second issue, my in-flight TV did not work and would not turn off. Try an overnight with a brightly illuminated screen in your face--horrible! The flight crew's only solution was to continually hit the reset which only made the bright non-functional screen reappear after 1 minute. Third issue--the food was horrible. I normally will pick at the bread but gave my tray back in tact. Fourth issue, flight was 30 minutes delayed with a gate issue causing us to miss our connection. NO INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED TO ANY PASSENGER IN ANY LANGUAGE ABOUT CONNECTIONS beyond, "just go to your next flight and they will have your connecting ticket." (My wife is German and assured me I didn't just miss this. Fifth issue (being generous to call this just one issue), Condor IS a low cost airline that does not talk to other airlines, computer or otherwise. Lufthansa had no record of any flight changes beyond our missed flight. We were directed back to Condor ticketing, back on the opposite side of Frankfurt airport. Condor supposedly reissued tickets that Lufthansa never had record of, seemingly making my trip worthless and causing us to miss the connection. With subsequent flights sold out we were re-ticketed on a flight later in the day. Sixth issue, Condor would not offer the new connection ticket and instructed me to return to the Lufthansa gate for ticketing. However, I could not return to the gate without a ticket. Are you laughing yet? I was doing my best not to choke anyone. Waiting in a long line at Lufthansa I was finally told they had NO record of the new ticketing and that I should come back in 15-20 minutes when the system might update to show my ticket. After waiting +20 minutes I was finally issued tickets and then needed to clear security and traverse Frankfurt airport back to our gate. [I need to interject as it was at this time in our journey that we bumped into other Providence-Condor passengers scrambling about the Frankfurt airport having the SAME HORRIBLE experience!] Seventh issue, our 4 seats, including 1 infant and 1 toddler were in different sections of the airplane. Eighth issue, while this point may belong to Lufthansa, Condor booked my tickets and therefore needs to take the blame...I was told by Lufthansa that they could not do anything about it and to simply board the plane and figure it out onboard. The counter agent said, "No time!" I found that funny as I hadn't said a word in English or German. She just offered me her hand. Onboard flight crew had no idea and told us to take our seats...I assume we were to drop our 2 year old in a random aisle? Thankfully German travellers are very cooperative and we quickly negotiated flipping seats by holding up our children and explaining kindly in German that we needed help. Ninth issue, alas a return to the US and arrival at Providence to meet...1 (ONE) US CUSTOMS AGENT FOR THE ENTIRE FLIGHT! 1 agent served to help flight crew and perhaps special assistance needs, though I only saw them helping flight crew. And 2 agents were serving to admit non-US passengers. The wait was +1 hour, my longest US Customs arrival of any airport in all my flying days. Tenth issue, Condor Airlines ignored a letter outlining points 1-9 of my flying experiences. Shame on you Condor for not responding. I hope my Yelp review will cause at least one person to AVOID YOUR HORRIBLE AIRLINE!!! read more

Condor Airlines do nothing but scam money however they can. I was travelling with my wife and a friend of ours and we arrived at the airport for our flight. We checked in and as we were waiting I had a medical emergency and had to leave the airport and wasn't able to make my flight and also wasn't able to wait for them to take my luggage off of the plane so my wife was just going to pick it up for me when they landed on the other side. She also had things packed In my suitcase so it just worked out that it would be easier for her to take it along. I already paid for my ticket and my luggage and was not expecting a refund of any kind because I know how airlines work but what I wasn't expecting is how when my wife went up to tell them I wouldn't be able to fly because I had to leave last minute they charged her $150 because of my suitcase. They said if she didn't pay it they would take it off the plane. That is absolutely ridiculous that they charge $150 for a suitcase that has already been paid for! I wrote a complaint to Condor directly and after 2 weeks they wrote back and just said this is our policy and it's considered extra luggage for the other person and there's nothing that can be done. That will be the last time I ever fly with Condor and will be making sure I let as many people know as possible what kind of company they are. read more

Nice flight, horrible customer service on the ground: Before you fly Condor airlines, please know that this company provides horrible customer service within the USA. Since we were taking our 11 month year old daughter to visit family in Europe, I called Condor a few weeks before the flight to reserve seats to ensure we'd be sitting together. They sent us a confirmation and then changed our seats when we checked in for the flight. When I brought this to the attention of their gate agent he said there was nothing Condor could do and that Condor can cancel reserved seats for safety reasons. Once we boarded the flight it was obvious that Condor simply split up our reservation by mistake when they were trying to place a group of 5 people together. They never apologized and actually yelled at us when we expressed our concern of separating a family with an infant. On our return trip our flight was delayed and we missed our connection. Condor did not have anyone at the gate or at their check-in station to help us. We had to find someone at the airport information booth who gave us a number to call. read more

I recently fly to Europe and back to the US on Condor Flugdienst. Ironically it was the same Airplane that fly both ways. The way I could tell, was the Bathroom. The wall that was supporting the Toilet was falling apart. I mentioned it, to the Staff when I first noticed it. Granted the toilet was still functioning. But when so little care is taken for the Passengers, one makes you wonder were else they are cutting corners. On my return flight, I asked one the Staff if the Toilet has been repaired. The person gave me a funny look. As it turned out it was not. Also on the way to Europe, there was no water bottle, there was on the return flight. Also, at the Frankfurt Airport, they had us sitting on Bus, for almost 25min in 90F temperature. On a full bus, well the heat was getting unbearable. Boarding the Airplane, was relieve, until one the Staff turned on the heat. "NOT COOL" After I asked one the Staff about what is with the heat, it was turned down to being bearable. Most of the Staff was accommodating. What concerns me more, the lack of coordination with the Airport. I almost found my gate in Frankfurt. I only had an 1 hour to reach my gate. It was not the departure list. Being not familiar with the Airport, I only found out, when I asked one the security people, he told me Gate B, I asked what number, and he did not know. I had to asked one the Lufthansa personal at a counter, and they gave the gate number. Note it still was not posted. I was not the only one that had that issue. I am debating to have another trip to Europe, but one the things, is I will not fly Condor ever again. I hope one those days that there is not an accident do to cutting corners. I am sure the engines are checked etc. But the comfort amenities for the passengers need also be address. And oh lets not forget. Since Condor on flies hand me downs, from other airlines, no Wi-Fi. They have not been upgraded, I guess we have to wait until Lufthansa sells one them, that has the bump on top with the antenna. Happy travels read more

I never actually flew Condor because i wasn't able to make a booking. The website kept declining all my cards (that work perfectly fine otherwise). It was almost impossible to get through to the call centre and when i finally did, i received the most unprofessional service i've ever experienced from the lady who barely spoke English. She explained that if my card doesn't work we can't make reservation, because " she can't use her card to help me". After this, she disconnected. I WAS SHOCKED. After that, i tried calling several times but had to wait ca. 20 mins to get through and my call would get disconnected. I gave up and booked with another airline. read more

Condor is the worst airline. First they assigned my girlfriend and I separate seats so we would not sit together on a 9 hour flight from Calgary to Frankfurt. We noticed this during online check in and called customer support. We were told they could fix this at the check in desk. We arrived 3 hours early to change our seats and sit together but at the check in desk they said it was impossible to change. The lady said unless we paid $150 dollars each for bushiness class upgrade we could not get seats together. After arguing with two different ladies at the check in desk they finally changed our seats. Once we got on the plane there were at least 10 empty seats in our general vicinity. Obviously not allowing us move seats was a tactic to try to get us to upgrade to business class. Very unethical. Secondly I have a gluten allergy and ordered a gluten free meal. Its bad enough that I have to pay extra to get a meal that will not make me sick but its even worse when they forget to bring the gluten free meals on the plane. Flew from Minneapolis to Frankfurt for cancer treatments. They lost my luggage which had medication and clothes for the 21 day stay. They promised it would be there within 24 hours. Every day I would call and they would continue with the lie and it finally came seven days later and medicine was no longer good and my treatment was delayed because we did not order new items because they kept promising. The customer service conversations which I recorded show they are the most ruden uncaring, vicious people I have ever met. There lies and mistakes cost me thousands . I have contacted customer service since I got back on multiple occasions(it has now been three weeks) and have yet to receive one word of communication back. These people are animals and I would recommend never flying with these liars and incompetent assholes again.Please feel free to contact me for verification or proof. Worst airline. Period. The most uncomfortable seats, unusual food combinations served. Example: pasta with a little tomato sauce on top, a piece of cheese, coleslaw (you read that correctly), a very bitter rye bread, butter, and a small roll. Flatulence Central. The flight attendants were the most rude, uninformative, passive-aggressive bunch I've encountered. My husband travels all over the world for his job. He's flown great airlines and no so great airlines at times, but he told me that between the cardboard-like seats, rude staff, horrible food, and lack of communication skills by all from ticket counter, etc. this was the worst. Please know, it wasn't a fluke. We took four flights on Condor within two weeks! We booked Condor through Alaska Airlines because they're partners and we wanted to redeem my husband's mileage points for a family vacation. By our fourth flight home, we prepared ourselves with food, snacks, more comfortable clothes to wear on board, and my husband bought a neck pillow at the airport, which he normally doesn't like to use. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Condor is absolutely the WORST airline! I booked two tickets for my brothers to help us move from Phoenix to Düsseldorf. Condor's policy stated that flights cancelled 24 hours before departure can be cancelled or transferred. One of my brothers and his wife got fevers of 102 and started throwing up 24-hours before the flight departure, but no one answered the phone for three hours! We were on hold with Condor Airlines for three hours the night before we moved to Germany with all my family over to say goodbye and I couldn't even spend time with them since I was sitting in the bedroom on hold for three hours. By the time a representative picked up, they said, "I'm sorry, the 24-hour period has passed while you were on hold for three hours." I feel even more sick to my stomach because I purchased a total of seven plane tickets from Condor for various family members that are going to be visiting us in the coming months in Germany! No e-tickets issued, almost lost first flight (SFO-SEATTLE), once I arrived to Seattle there was bad communication, no gate information, rude staff members couldn't help, and I ended losing the flight to Europe in Seattle and nobody was able to help me. I fly constantly, I'm member of AA, Delta and United mileage programs, couldn't find a suitable flight with them so I decided to try Condor, even the Alaska airlines people told me I shouldn't use them (the first flight was with Alaska airlines and they were helping me at SFO because I had NO e-tickets issued). When we tried to check-in on our return flight from Cancun to Frankfurt, we were told that we were not on the passenger list. The check-in counter employees told us that the travel agency had failed to book the segment. We were then left without any assistance at midnight in the Cancun airport. We had to find a hotel for the night. We got in touch with our travel agency to ask for a solution, and when they contacted Condor Airline services, the agency was told that we were no-show. This was a lie. Now, according to our travel agency someone at Condor recognized an internal mistake and a solution was found for our return trip to Europe the day after without additional cost. On this return flight we met other passenger who were supposed to be on the same flight the day before. According to them, the flight was overbooked and they had been compensated accordingly. We found out that we had been less lucky and lied to. I raised a complaint with Condor Airlines customer service, and got a standard policy copy paste as the only answer, after 3 weeks. No compensation. Treating customers this way is unacceptable, and I can only advise people to avoid this company. read more

I flew from SeaTac to Frankfurt in May 2015 and was positively surprised by this airline. I flew in Business Class but have heard good things about Premium Eco? as well! New cabin with new seats that recline into a flat bed automatically (not completely horizontal though), good service, superb food and good IFE. The service at SeaTac was ok at the check-in but the Lounge was great! read more

Passengers beware when you are traveling through Frankfurt Airport via Condor Airlines. Unfortunate experience after buying some souvenirs at the Duty Free Shop, they'll charge you for the plastic bag to put your purchase(s). Upon checking in at the gate that small plastic bag will be considered another carryon. Usually all Duty Free purchases will be picked at the door of before boarding the airplane, which it was not the case, they'll give it to you right there at the shop. I experienced first hand that i was charged 75 Euro because I had to check in one of my bags because of that stupid plastic bag. It was was a bunch of horseshit, that's what I get for getting a bargain flight getting jipped for unforeseen charges which you don't have a choice because you want to go home after a nice European vacation. So, beware of Frankfurt Airport Duty Free Shop and avoid Condor Airlines for your peace of mind. read more

Beware. Party of 7, Departed Santotini to Myconos 29 June 2015. 2 of us took flight no problems. Keep in mind Condor cancelled 730pm flight and move it to 1030 am. Final destination was Stuttgart Germany. Everyone printed out their new conformation with their names on the conformation when notified of the change before leaving the USA. The electronic conformation positively stated 1 free checked bag under 20 kilos. When you print it out this information did not or will not print out on your conformation. For some reason Condor had no evidence of 5 people in our group even though they had print outs of 1030am flight with everyone's name on it. After check person checked with supervisor and much hassle they allowed the 5 to board but since the conformation did not indicate the free bag like the website states they had to pay 900 euro for their checked bags. Not a miss print 900 euros when it should have been free. They charged by the kilo like a grocery store. Condor gets 1 star because the plane waited 20 minutes past flight time. Flight to Myconos is 25 minutes. read more

NOT A SINGLE STAR! This is the worst airline in the whole white civilized world, I haven't flown Somalia Airlines but I'm sure they are far superior to Condor. After waiting almost an hour our flight from Portland to Frankfurt on July 21st 2015, we been told that the plain has a technical problem and that they work on it. Another hour, still working, another hour, still working, another and another - 6 hours after the boarding time, here comes a plane captain takes a mic and starts making announcement through a mic that doesn't work, yeap you read it right- it's broken too, just like the plain. He decides to go without a mic, and deliver at least 5 min speech in German, before saying just few sentences in English to make us feel good- it's basically NO GO, the crew cannot cheat on their log books, they need to go to hotel, have Spaten and have at least 10 hours of sound sleep before they ready to fly again. If the technical problem get fixed, of course. 400 hundred of us, tired, disappointed, duped, rushing to a counter like mad animals in their final stampede to re-book, One Condor man comes out (they had only thee employees that we've seen) and tells us he has no idea when the plain going to be ready to fly tomorrow, if at all,...but he tell us to be sure and call toll 1-800-WHOCARES number that is answered by Condom reps in Bundesrepublik Deutschland. In one hour, he swear by german gods, they will know WHEN it might be ready to fly tomorrow. We called a handful of times, 30 min waits, finally a german frau tells me like what are you talking about, we have ho info whatsoever about DE2029, hmmmmmm???????!!!!!! Really???? Horrible, I'm realizing we are loosing a hefty chunk of my wife 30 y.o. birthday vacation, we're loosing our Paris hotel reservation, we are loosing TGV train tickets to Cote d'Azur. I call Condor back and after 40 min wait I BEG THEM to at least change my second flight Frankfurt-Paris to Paris-Nice for all our losses and inconveniences ( we already lost hotel and train reservation $500 plus). They answer word for word: "Sir, this is your problem, we cant re-book you to Nice, but only Paris". My wife vacation is half destroyed by Condor. I haven't seen such a blunt and bloody unrepeatable atrocity in my long life and I spent years in third world countries. Condor is EVIL, HAS NO BRAINS, NO HEARD, NOT A SINGLE OUNCE OF PROFESSIONALISM AND BASIC HUMAN KINDNESS, IT RUINS PEOPLE"S (their customers...) DREAMS, THEY SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS.
