Barbacoa Burrito

Food was good, decent portions, semi high price point, but not too bad. Love that they offered mocktails without having to ask for them. Served was really nice and attentive. Loved the sign when you first walk in. Music not loud at all, they do have tv's to play sports games. Seating, size friendly, tables spaces well . Also outdoor seating in the warmer weather. Parking, This is an actively SHARED lot, you will most likely have to drive around for parking .

If you're looking for phenomenal Mexican food, stop what you're doing and go to Condesa's Mexican Restaurant. Every single bite is packed with flavor, care, and authenticity. You can taste the passion that goes into the food nothing here is average, rushed, or phoned in. From the first bite to the last, the food is outstanding, fresh, and unforgettable. This is the kind of place you want to tell everyone about because they deserve the recognition. Consessa's should be famous, and once people discover it, they will be. An absolute gem

A Valentine's Day visit and what a great choice. The service was impeccable and they had a great special dinner for two menu as well. We opted to order from the menu and the was prepared fresh and arrived piping hot. My steak fajitas were the most tender I've had in this dish in years. Strongly recommended.

Condesa has multiple locations in RI. I went to the Smithfield location (the other one is in Warwick) and it had a nice modern contemporary Mexican theme. It felt clean inside with lots of seating. They share the parking lot with multiple other businesses so parking was limited. The service was quick and I got seated right away. The staff were friendly and attentive. They serve complimentary chips and salsa to start. For an appetizer, I ordered the chicken quesadilla which was large enough to even be a main course. I also ordered the shrimp ceviche for an app and it had a nice tangy flavor from the lime juice and onions. For an entree, I ordered the chicken fajitas and it was a good size portion, flavorful, with plenty of sautéed peppers & onions. It came with 3 tortillas but they were small so I would ask for a couple more next time. The margaritas were great and adds a nice touch to a Mexican dinner. The grand finale! Was the HOMEMADE churros and black raspberry ice-cream. Did I mention both were homemade?! YUM. The churros were super light and super fresh with plenty of cinnamon and sugar on them. It has a nice crispy outside and soft/chewy inside. I would be sure to try them if ever going to Condesa!

Flautas and rice., oh so nice.

We were out driving and came across this cute restaurant. We were both pleased by the selection and the quality of the food. The service was attentive and helpful. It was my first time but not my last here.

The other night my GF and I made our way back to Condesa for dinner since we loved it our first find and our second time was no different! Highly recommend the chicken fajitas! Loaded with tender chicken, peppers & onions (ask for extra shells). We also had barbocoa tacos that weren't bad but was a bit dry and skimped on the portion for the size of the shells. The HOMEMADE churros were the homerun though! Super delicious covered in cinnamon sugar and fried perfectly with a crisp outside and light inside! Highly recommend Condesa for their delicious Mexican food, friendly attentive wait staff, and very clean modern looking dinning experience.

$9.26 is the "discount"

I've been coming to this restaurant for years, but after my recent experience, I won't be returning. In December, they had a promotion where you'd get a $10 bonus for every $50 gift card purchased. I bought $300 in gift cards, expecting to receive $60 in bonuses. When I paid, they gave me six separate bonus cards--but instead of actual gift cards, they were business cards stating they could only be used between January 1-31, with all restrictions, something that was never mentioned before I purchased. When I tried to use them in January, I was told I could only redeem one per table--even though we had separate checks! On top of that, when they applied the bonus card, they didn't even take the full $10 off the bill. Oh, and I had a Christmas party here a week prior to all of this happening... you'd think they would take care of their customers. Photos of the bill, not even taking the full $10 off and the bonus cards that are a joke! Now I'm stuck with useless bonus cards that expired and a gift card for a restaurant I no longer want to support. This is a clear example of poor customer service and misleading promotions. Be more transparent with your customers!

So I was very pleased with every aspect of this restaurant. First off the atmosphere was great- it's clean, good music in the background and the decor is modern. The service is really good and everyone was attentive to the customers needs. The food was tasty and served nice and hot. Honestly I don't drink but the beverages look delicious. If I can suggest any food - the fajitas Mexicanos is the best bang for your buck. The chicken- steak and shrimp were cooked to perfection and made great tacos with the corn tortillas. I will visit again and if you have not you should too.

This was my third time eating at this restaurant and there's a specific reason that I don't eat there more frequently since it's only five minutes from where I live. They have an absolutely huge parking lot, but this restaurant is very successful and very busy and they are located directly next-door to another extremely successful and busy restaurant, leaving very few parking spots available and even more so, fewer handicap spots for disabled people like myself. The ambience is pretty nice here and they have a large dining room, allowing lots of patrons quick seating. The dishes I've tried so far are very good and I thought the prices were about average. I definitely thought the prices were fair for the portion sizes and the quality of the food. Service here is always good, so I have no complaints there. Overall, I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant if you're in the area.

Baja burrito with dueling delicious sauces! (Lunch)

Solid 4 star Mexican spot! It's got ambiance, class and most importantly, delicious food! The burrito portion size is actually epic. I have seen more than one customer look in horror and delight all at the same time. Andre the Giant would struggle with it! I do enjoy the lunch portions, as they are one sitting manageable! The fresh nachos are a crunchtastic way to begin the meal. Over all, the whole enchilada is spot on! I will say the only minor infraction is the need for more wait staff. It spreads them a bit thin on the floor. Def recommendation! Bon appetite!

Ladies night! Since…read morewe were heading to a concert around the corner at Bally's- Don's it was! 4-7pm 1/2 price appetizers and $7 margaritas. DEAL! We had Queso Fundido and the Loaded Birria fries. The Birria fries arrived first. Great serving size and the flavor- delicious! The Queso Fundido arrived in a skillet sizzling! The chorizo and cheese- Yum! But the tortilla chips were bland. I suggest they get a new kinds of chips. Where's the salt on those chips? The winning bite: a little fundido and a loaded fry on top of the chip! The margaritas are offered in an array of flavors! Here's my ranking of the ones I tried: 1. Watermelon! (Liquid candy!) 2. Pineapple 3. Strawberry 4. Passion Fruit (tasted more like tequila) My birria tacos were pretty good! The consume... something about it. I asked my friend, do you think it's cinnamon? She suggested cloves. It could have used a little less of whatever they were adding but overall pretty good. It was a Friday night and it was not bumping. This place should be drawing more people. Great decor (Day of the Dead) and our waitress was super nice (Thanks Z!) Check it out Amigos!

I came back from RI two weeks ago and I feel like I dream about this Mac and cheese The second night I opted for the salt and vinegar wings (not pictured). I found Chilangos by serendipity: we were looking for a Mexican restaurant that was open on Tuesday…read moreand we liked the menu on the website because the food was true Mexican food, not the usual Americanized Mexican. So we took a chance. And we were not at all disappointed! First, we were greeted warmly, in a genuine way, by the owner. They seemed genuinely glad to have us. The older gentleman was friendly and playful towards my son. The food was delicious! I had enchiladas with housemate mole. The mole was fantastic: complex and nuanced. My daughter had enchiladas verde, which was smothered in a poblano salsa that was also complex, with great green heat. My son ordered the arracherra, a peppercorn rubbed steak served with homemade guacamole and a delicious cactus salad. I was tempted by several other dishes, particularly the enchiladas mineras (beef cheeks - yum!). All in all, a warm, welcoming, delicious experience that made me want come back. And I will.

But I'm someone that believes anyone can have an off day so overall this place is really great. First and foremost, get the margarita. They are the best I've ever had. Also, get the tacos. Even as an app they're so great. I got the shrimp and a veg recently. I've enjoyed all of the entrees I've ever gotten. Honorable mention is the shrimp Diablo. Super spicy and delightful. The interior is warm, cozy, and a perfect combo of lit enough so you can see but dark enough to set a mood for spilling tea or flirting with your date. Equal parts good for girls night and good for date night. The not so great: I got flautas once and they fell flauta (haha). Also, it's sometimes a one man show so service can be slow especially if you need refills so be sure to order multiple drinks at a time, or better yet a pitcher. Street parking can be a real pain but sometimes you get lucky on a side street. Definitely worth a visit if you've never been!

Shockingly Surprised, then disappointed…read more 2 visits with different outcomes. 1st was enjoyable, tacos were decent, margs were well made, and the prices were reasonable. Fell for the consum"ay" with the burria tacos 2nd visit, tacos were a sloppy greasy mess. Burria tacos tasted old and reheated, fried avocado tacos were gross, The drinks, we were not forewarned that a double means you pay double the price for a drink. Bill went from affordable to overpriced. To be honest, this place doesn't serve authentic tacos. It's one of those taco places that invents greasy messy (mac and cheese topped everything pun) tacos and I think they should serve a basic good fresh street taco that isn't dependent on some greasy add ons to try to be clever. Probably won't be back. Thanks

But here are some of my honest opinions: Likes: - staff was great! Super nice and friendly. I gave an extra star mainly for them. - the Queso fries were good - the birra tacos were good but just a bit on the salty side. - the atmosphere looked cool Dislikes: - The boom boom crispy shrimp tacos- I don't enjoy lettuce in tacos and they loaded it with way too much sauce. It felt drenched so I couldn't really finish it. - Nashville hot fried chicken tacos- again too much lettuce and way too much sauce which seemed like sour cream. The chicken wasn't crispy and the taste was just ok. - and avocado tacos- way too much mayo all over this taco. It was overbearing. Might work for some people but not for me. - the smell of the unfinished wood was a bit too strong for my senses. Im always open to trying new taco spots and I hope they keep improving.

The food was out of this world from the very first course with the homemade hummus pumpkin hummus by the way right straight through to the end of the homemade desserts, etc. it was just amazing. The customer service was impeccable. The girls never let the drinks get too low in your glass. It will be off the cocktail. The water was always filled. They cleaned the plates right away. She weren't waiting. The variety of proof was out of this world. It was a beautiful, beautiful restaurant. Everything was individual rooms quiet but we do other people together. Really felt like you were special cause you were in a separate room and it was decorated so beautifully. The first course was appetizers. We had the fresh pumpkin hummus with homemade pita bread and then we had a calamari dish with some hot sausage in it then they have these beautiful steamed mussels with homemade bread, focaccia bread and it has some nice hetbs and stuff soaking in the broth. Then we had the buffet is started out with some fresh Scully bread, as well as some fresh rolls and butter, and the first part of that was a beautiful assorted salad. That was lovely. I had two of those cause. I can't eat a lot of meat and then. The next dish was a ziti with homemade sauce and then they had a beautiful Parmesan risotto with herbs and the next one was like a Portuguese chicken with vegetables and tomatoes that just fell off the bone it was amazing and then the last dish was a a Portuguese dish of roasted pork with little neck clams the husband I got him that cause he likes that type of thing, but everybody was cooked so beautifully presented wonderfully. I didn't get a chance to take pictures at the beginning, but I did get some during the buffet and then and everything was just impeccable. The desserts were delicious. There was some beautiful custard tarts with fresh fruit, homemade macaroons, brownies, and some petty food type of desserts. But I would definitely go back there for dinner, but I know for a fact while waiting for my friends to come that many people had a very long weight. One couple came in there was only two people the wait was 45 minute wait and then somebody else came in and there was an hour wait I like a party of six people just took it in stride like they must've known this was happening and they took and came back. if I definitely come over again to eat, I would definitely do it under the reservation. I learned that just by sitting there waiting for my friends to come. Unfortunately my picture did not come out, and I didn't realize until I had left. It was (2) giant portions of meatloaf with a mountain of mashed potatoes and some mixed veggies, and despite going in hungry, I was only able to eat half. Pricing is a bit high, the atmosphere feels a bit stuffy and lighting at the bar is a bit dim, they definitely cater to an older crowd, but their portions are very generous, and the food was very flavorful. I'd go back again!
