These tacos are amazing! We ordered takeout so i can't really comment on Taco Barn's service or ambiance but I will mention that the tacos had unique flavors and were delicious. My only critique is that they were a bit pricey for what you get. Most taco spots are usually around $4 for a taco where Taco Barn is $5. I know it's only a slight difference but when you're ordering several, it adds up. Hope to check out the restaurant next time for a more extensive review.

First time coming here after the change from Dr.Duffs to Taco Barn and I have to say I am a fan. The tacos were delicious and the food came out very quickly. I ordered a fish bowl to share with friends and it was delicious as well. The nachos serving was massive and was unable to finish it but good for leftovers. Our waitress was wonderful she was very attentive, very positive, and also gave recommendations. The ambience of the place has changed drastically from when it used to be Dr.Duffs it has more of a construction look to it, but much cleaner and more lighting than before, I am a fan of the change and surprised at how much better it turned out to be. I definitely will be back it's a great place to hang with friends!

Amazing birria tacos. The best I have ever had ! Side of queso for extra cheesy goodness.

We have always loved Dr Duffs and were sad when it closed but were psyched to see it reopen as the taco barn. Don't let the word taco deter you , there are regular tacos but also so many other kinds that you can find something you love. The inside is super cute and clean. The staff is very friendly. I forgot our servers name but she was so happy and took great care of us. We went on a double date and enjoyed the heck out of the chips and queso. Margaritas and many tacos. Prices are very reasonable , and you can have a nice time without breaking the bank. I had the Birria tacos and they were the best I have ever had. Def recommend taco barn for a fun date night , or dinner , or snack , or drinks. Anything !

We had been patiently awaiting the opening of Taco Barn since Dr. Duff's closed...and it was well worth the wait! We went on opening and have been 5 or 6 times since. I feel so lucky to live down the street from here. Best of all, they are SO affordable. I don't feel quietly eating out when we go here. So far, the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos are a must-try. They're my favorite and I get them every single time I go. Their iconic Birria Tacos with consume are a must-have with any order. Their House Nachos are a huge shareable starter and well worth it , especially for a bigger party. Really, everything is good. The service is always great! Every server we've had has been so friendly and attentive. My ONLY "critique" is the benches aren't finished, so the wood is just a taaad rough, but that should not deter anyone from going here. Just a small detail I hope they consider improving in the future. Nonetheless, they are a HUGE improvement from the stools they had when it was Dr. Duff's. Otherwise, Taco Barn has such a unique, youthful, and chill ambiance with the wooden features all over and gorgeous Edison string lighting along the ceiling. Go here!!

Amazing food and service! My boyfriend and I came here for a low-key date night and it was so much fun! Staff were so welcoming and fun to banter with at the bar. Dinner was exactly what we were looking for: good cheap bar food! Definitely will be going back!

Love the new decor of the place, its cleaned up well. Food was very good, nachos were a good portion size. The drinks were great! Gives a bit of a dive bar vibe, as they only served with plastic utensils, plastic cups for regular drinks, and paper plates. I had the bacon chicken ranch tacos, and my guest had the Birria tacos. Id come back again.

Charging a fee for takeout is not a good way to do business, when there are so many other options.

They got Us in for a walk in waitlist within 15mins which shocked me as we were 4th in line on their waitlist link. Having a waitlist link was impressive in itself tbh. Love the communication for customers... showing the wait time and which spot in line you have. Chips and water came out quick even with the packed restaurant. At the end, I believe a manager, came by to ask how our dining experience was and to clear the table. Love that ! Nice that the manager jumps in to help and takes time to check in with customers. I was very impressed by their operations. I had el pastor tacos which the cinnamon-ish flavor profile wasn't my taste but the tacos were good if you enjoy that, came with black refried beans and rice. Rice was really good! I had the spicy Diablo margaritas with tajin rim and really enjoyed that as well. My bf had the birria tacos which came with the dip and he said it was mid, could've been better as wasn't much flavor. I also had shrimp ceviche which was ok too. Was hoping for more flavor. Really loved the warm tortilla chips and salsa was nice. We also ordered the cheese queso blanco dip which was really good.

Inside is small with few seats and a counter where you place orders. It was not busy when we went so we placed an order and sat down. We got a homemade pineapple juice and few tacos including chorizo, steal, al pastor, and fish. Fish was not able to be ordered as single for some reason. Pineapple juice was tasty and natural so it wasn't too sweet. It was foamy maybe from blending with blender? The tacos were pretty good. Everything was seasoned well and came with some spicy sauce and lime. Personally I liked the chorizo and fish tacos the most. Steak/al pastor was a tad bit dry but wasn't bad. Service was good. Took a but for food to come out but I can tell they make a lot of things in the restaurant and prepares it after its been ordered. Overall, the place was good. It's a solid Mexican restaurant around the area. I can't say it's the best I've had though as there are a-lot of good competitors in RI. I would get chorizo tacos and their juice again if I come back.

Lots of seating and I like the music that they play. You can definitely tell that this is a Latin inspired restaurant. Our waiter came over and he was pleasant as well. He was also the bartender but did well making sure all of his tables were taken care of along with the bar. I ordered a Coke and the crab cake Benedict. The significant other had the tea and chilaquiles. I really enjoyed my benefit. The chipotle hollandaise was slightly spicy but not overwhelming. Eggs were poached well, the crab cake was tasty, and the home fries were nice and crispy. No real complaints there! The chilaquiles were smaller than I thought they'd be but the significant other said he liked them. So, why 4 stars? I've been here before and while it's good some dishes don't blow me away. But I definitely keep coming back.

So we took a chance. And we were not at all disappointed! First, we were greeted warmly, in a genuine way, by the owner. They seemed genuinely glad to have us. The older gentleman was friendly and playful towards my son. The food was delicious! I had enchiladas with housemate mole. The mole was fantastic: complex and nuanced. My daughter had enchiladas verde, which was smothered in a poblano salsa that was also complex, with great green heat. My son ordered the arracherra, a peppercorn rubbed steak served with homemade guacamole and a delicious cactus salad. I was tempted by several other dishes, particularly the enchiladas mineras (beef cheeks - yum!). All in all, a warm, welcoming, delicious experience that made me want come back. And I will.

But I'm someone that believes anyone can have an off day so overall this place is really great. First and foremost, get the margarita. They are the best I've ever had. Also, get the tacos. Even as an app they're so great. I got the shrimp and a veg recently. I've enjoyed all of the entrees I've ever gotten. Honorable mention is the shrimp Diablo. Super spicy and delightful. The interior is warm, cozy, and a perfect combo of lit enough so you can see but dark enough to set a mood for spilling tea or flirting with your date. Equal parts good for girls night and good for date night. The not so great: I got flautas once and they fell flauta (haha). Also, it's sometimes a one man show so service can be slow especially if you need refills so be sure to order multiple drinks at a time, or better yet a pitcher. Street parking can be a real pain but sometimes you get lucky on a side street. Definitely worth a visit if you've never been!
