My husband and I decided to try Plaza Mexico on a whim. We were immediately greeted with chips and salsa. (Yum! ) We added a queso dip as well, and we didn't regret it. The menu is pretty large, and our waitress was very helpful in steering us in the right direction. Food was great! Seating is plus friendly. Decor is super cute. I tried the mango mojito, 10/10 recommend!! Hubbys drink was good, strong! We will be back!

Delish! Probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area! Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was cozy and great! I had the Pollo a La Crema which was Grilled chicken strips cooked with homemade cream cheese, mushrooms, and corn. Served with rice and guacamole salad. Omg! So gooooood!

    Margarita flight. A must have!

The service was great. They were very fast in asking for my order and my food, although it was just an appetizer, was ready quickly. The portions are big enough to feed at least 2 people. The margarita flight was great and my appetizer, the mini chimis were delicious!

I visited this restaurant twice during my trip, and both experiences genuinely surprised me in the best way. On my first visit, I came in late after doing some work. The place was about to close in 30 minutes, and we were the only customers there. When the food arrived, I was a bit skeptical at first--the presentation looked simple, nothing that stood out. That opinion changed fast. I ordered the Burritos Jalisco as a quick option, and they brought out complimentary chips and salsa. I was planning to order chips anyway, so that was a great start. The salsa was incredibly fresh and flavorful. As for the burrito, the moment I cut into it and took that first bite, it completely blew me away. It was packed with rice, beans, chicken, vegetables, and chorizo--super flavorful, perfectly balanced, and much better than I expected based on looks alone. I was so impressed (and still a little curious if the first experience was just good because we were the only ones there) that I returned three days later. This time, I ordered a quesadilla with the same meats as before. The rice and veggies came on the side, and the quesadilla itself was crispy, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. The only small downside was that it was a bit greasy, but not enough to take away from how good it tasted. The only other minor issue was the wait time, but honestly, I didn't mind it at all once the food arrived--everything was extremely fresh and piping hot. The customer service on both visits was immaculate. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy too, with holiday decorations adding a nice touch. If I ever return to this city, I'll definitely come back here, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting. They have a full menu with seafood, nachos, and plenty of other options I want to try next time. In a smaller town full of fast food, this place stands out as one of the few true sit-down restaurants--and now I understand why it's still thriving. A solid 5 out of 5. A must-try.

We were immediately greeted and sat when we entered the restaurant . The waitress was very nice and attentive . She was patient with how indecisive I was . They have a very large menu . The staff informed us that their most popular dishes are the seafood specials . Which I will have to go back for ! I ultimately decided on the steak and cheese quesadillas. The price is well worth the portion sizes . Took home left overs that I am very much looking forward too . Our orders came out fast and HOT ! The quesadilla was gooey with cheese and the steak was soft and tender . The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The cantarito speaks for itself ! It was a great balance of sweet and sour from the citrus . The tamarind stick was a treat in itself! The atmosphere of the restaurant was very "traditional" for a Mexican restaurant with a tequila tree at the entrance, sugar skulls , and inflatable beer bottle.

I went to a ladies monthly lunch meetup here, I was so happy I made it!! The food was very well seasoned and the portions generous. I didn't have an alcoholic beverage but others did and they looked amazing! The staff were attentive and patient with the lot of us ladies, Now the decor, and paintings, and light fixtures are something to look at and appreciate. A lot of artistic items were dispersed around the restaurant, it was nice to roam and explore! There were quiet nooks and spaces for large parties as well as a large bar. Definitely want to come back with the family very soon!

This is for sure a new favorite restaurant of mine!! I decided last minute to have my birthday dinner here and I'm so glad I did. The decor inside is so beautiful and everything is perfectly clean. We sat at the bar and our bartender was awesome. He was super friendly, made a killer margarita and was attentive the entire time. We had table side guacamole that was the best guac I've ever had..I had no idea guacamole could be THAT good. My dinner was fabulous, hot and delicious. To top it off they completely surprised me out of nowhere and with an over the top birthday "show" the loud speakers were playing happy birthday throughout the restaurant, lights went down.. workers came out with big signs, flashing lights and put a sombrero on my head lol!! Oh and they gave us a beautiful shots board all decked out. Definitely an unforgettable night I can't wait to go back :-)

We discovered this spot while out of the RI Food Fight Taco Mania competition trail. Just off the main drag, in a more quiet corner of busy Seekonk, we'd never noticed it before. We're glad now that we found it! It was that weird, between meals later afternoon time around 3pm, so they we busy preparing for dinner & otherwise the place was quiet. So, sitting at the bar seemed the best option. The bartender was friendly & helpful, though busy. He quickly served us warm chips & salsa & we ordered a large queso as well. While it was delicious, it was a bit thin & messy in a huge bowl. A small probably would have been plenty. Here to try the tacos, we ordered the chicken and Quesabirria. The chicken tacos were a bit "blah" with nothing else on them except plain griddled chicken. A side of salsa verde went a long way to help, while an odd garnish of cucumber slices did little. Some cilantro & onions would have been a very welcome addition. The Quesabirria tacos, however, were FABULOUS! Bursting with flavor, juicy & cheese - a favorite for sure. We also tried their Chile Relleno with cheeese and a Tamale with chicken - two items by which we tend to judge Mexican restaurants. Both were freshly made ( they can often be frozen ), flavorful & delicious. We look forward to retuning to try more here!

There are plenty of Mexican restaurants around, but Dolores has consistently stood out to me for the quality and care that goes into the food. I've brought other people here as well, and the reaction is usually the same: everyone leaves happy and already talking about what they want to try the next time. The food is exceptional. Everything I've had has tasted fresh, arrived hot, and had the kind of flavor that makes it clear the kitchen isn't cutting corners. There's a nice balance to the menu, with enough variety that I don't feel like I'm ordering the same thing every time, even though there are a few favorites I inevitably gravitate back toward. What I particularly appreciate is the consistency. I've been here enough times that I have a reasonable idea of what to expect, and Dolores has managed to deliver that quality visit after visit. I do have to acknowledge the elephant in the room: prices have gone up significantly recently. That's hard to ignore, and I think it's fair to mention in a review. Eating out has gotten more expensive pretty much everywhere, but the increase here is noticeable. That said, the quality of the food has remained consistent, and for me, that keeps Dolores firmly in the five-star category. I'd much rather pay a little more for food that I genuinely enjoy than pay less for something forgettable. The service has also been very good in my experience. The wait staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive without making the meal feel rushed. Service tends to move along fairly quickly, which I appreciate, particularly when the restaurant is busy. The dining room is clean and comfortable, and the bar is another highlight. They make some excellent drinks, and it's a good place to sit and enjoy one while taking in the atmosphere. If you're planning on going, I'd recommend making a reservation or getting there early. Dolores can fill up, and it's easy to understand why. Parking is probably the biggest inconvenience, since you're dealing with street parking rather than a dedicated lot. In Providence, that's hardly unique, but it is something to keep in mind if you're driving. Despite those minor inconveniences and the recent price increases, Dolores remains one of my favorite places for Mexican food in Providence. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, the service is friendly, the drinks are excellent, and the overall experience is one that I continue to enjoy. I've brought different people here over the years, and I've yet to have someone leave disappointed. Five stars from me. Dolores has earned its place in my Providence restaurant rotation, and I'll keep coming back as long as they continue doing what they've been doing. The prices may have changed, but thankfully the food hasn't.

We usually go for the spicy or the house margarita. For starters, we love the pescadillas, carnitas quesadilla, and the huarache. Each offers its own unique combination of flavors. For dinner, you can't go wrong with the enchiladas. Both sauce options are incredible, and the black beans served alongside them are honestly the best I've ever had. The shrimp taco, packs a flavorful punch with its spicy salsa, and the brisket and carnitas sharing tacos are always deliciously tender. If you're there for brunch, the chilaquiles and huevos rancheros are both outstanding. Dolores is a must-visit if you appreciate authentic Mexican cuisine that's thoughtfully elevated without losing its roots!

At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.
