What a refreshing experience. I didn't have to wait two weeks, she's a thoughtful communicator (A key to a good business relationship). Expedient, professional, inhumanly patient (what I require...), knowledgeable and gracious about not mentioning what a know-nothing I am. Not having a particular cable she drove from almost Duncans Mills to Sebastopol and installed it with expertise and good cheer. She hooked up my new printer (after suggesting how I'd get the most bang for my bucks) and made my Mac-Mini's DVD player operable (so I can borrow from the library's vast collection) - and she hooked up my computer so I can watch movies on the screen of my 50" tv! She listen's well, follows up to make sure all is cool, and although it's not relevant and possibly Politically incorrect, she smelled good too. My suggestion is call her asap if you can use her services because news of her integrity and expertise are spreading like wildfire and folks are going to have to queue up. Oh yeah..... she charged me less than I expected too. Restoring my faith in Humanity is next to impossible, but it's certainly next to Jamie!

I had just spent a considerable amount of money on high-end PC parts for a new build. I assembled…read morethe computer, but ran into issues installing and updating the operating system. It was clearly a hardware problem that I could not figure out. I double and triple checked my work, checked the seating of all the components, and was at a loss to figure out what the problem was. I have experience building PCs, so making the decision to drop it off at a shop was unthinkable. However, after talking to Darin over the phone, he assured me he could troubleshoot my assembly and if necessary isolate any faulty components on the bench in time for me to RMA them. I dropped my computer off shortly before they closed for the Labor Day weekend, and had a very pleasant conversation with Darin and Jesse. They are two sharp guys who genuinely care about providing a superior level of customer service as well as some creative and valuable learning opportunities about computers for local kids. Chris gave me a call a few days later and let me know that after confirming that my assembly was done correctly and all the parts were functioning properly, the problem came down to a year old BIOS version on my brand new motherboard, something that had never occurred to me to check. They were able to flash it then get Win 11 installed and fully updated. They performed stress and thermal tests on all my parts and Darin personally insisted on carrying my box to my car when I came to pick it up. As a parting gift, he gave me what was probably the deepest dive into case fan configuration and airflow that I'd ever had with a sane human being. So far it's running great, and the cost was quite a bit less than I'd expected to have to pay. This isn't exactly the sort of service I have any desire to need an a regular basis, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to give these guys a call. I would recommend them to anybody who was in need of any of the services they perform. It's really easy to support a good group of people doing good work.

The service was an absolute failure: Zero Urgency & Unprofessionalism: It took MONTHS--not days--to get an equipment estimate, despite being hired for quick response. There were constant delays, missed deadlines, and all-around poor communication. Hidden Fees & Massive Overcharge: Their final quote was a shocking $19,000--nearly double the initial estimate. A closer look revealed an undisclosed, hidden surcharge on all hardware, and $1,600 more than B&H Photo for the main RAID system. Rude Management & Illegal Practices: When I called to question the surcharges and ask for my $1K fee back, the supervisor was rude and condescending, defending the "normal" surcharges. Admitted to Illegal Recording: Most alarmingly, the person I was speaking with admitted on the call that he was illegally recording the conversation without my consent, only stopping the recording midway through. As California is a two-party consent state, this is a clear violation of state privacy laws and demonstrates a complete disregard for ethical and legal business conduct. I would advise everyone to steer clear of CEG. They overcharge, hide fees, lack professionalism, and engage in deeply questionable business practices. Jim G.
