I called on Friday afternoon and spoke to Erik. Erik said Will had left (service call) but he'd check on it as he had some time. About an hour later, Erik called me back and happily announced he got the Inspiron up and running. All good after five, test restarts! Erik was above and beyond. I reached out multiple times and got no updates at all. On Friday afternoon, I called them again and after a long, unclear conversation, they asked for more time. At 5:17 PM, I finally received a diagnostic video. They then told me the computer couldn't be repaired and the only option was a new motherboard costing over $800. Immediately after, they tried to sell me a brand‑new HP and quoted just over $1,200 including a data transfer. (I had already backed up everything to OneDrive, so the data transfer was unnecessary), and they were going to charge me for it. When I picked up my computer today, the person admitted he never reached out, never provided progress updates, and was not transparent that the diagnostic wasn't completed within the timeframe. The missed deadlines, lack of communication, upselling, and attempt to charge for services I didn't need left me feeling misled and taken advantage of. I cannot recommend Easy IT based on this experience.

I set it down and told him it wouldn't turn on and explained what I tried. He told me his rate was $125 per 30 minutes and he wouldn't even touch it until I agreed. So he didn't know if he could even fix it let alone how long or if there would be added costs for the fix. He told me this was a "VERY fair rate". So this was WAY more than I expected to pay being an hour of work equated to over half the cost of my device. I then went to Micro Center down the road who could diagnose it for $80 flat and would help cover any costs of the fix. I went with Micro Center and they fix my computer and returned it 3 days later for $120 total. Now I think this business could've fixed my computer same day but I would've guessed at double the price and I didn't mind waiting. Overall I'm giving this a 2 because it seems expensive and telling me it was a fair rate seemed dishonest. The one employee wasn't overall very mean or anything but he came across as unwilling to help or answer any questions I had.
