The IT Sage has repaired my computer twice for a very reasonable price. Recently he came to my rescue when I had a new computer problem in another city. He sent me my old invoice by email so I could inform the tech about the previous work that was done. This was really helpful in ruling out what hardware might be causing the problem. Troung has earned his moniker as the "IT Sage." read more

Truong was exactly what I was looking for in a repair service. I can't stress the service portion enough. He is fast and responsive with his communication, he provided me several options as to what he could provide for my Apple products, and he gave me upfront quotes for the job. When bringing my Mac to Truong, he actually discovered a systemic issue with the product (sad day) but he provided me with options, and ultimately gave me the best solution to fit my needs. I will be going back to Truong for future repairs & service based on the experience I had. read more

I have brought my MacBook Pro to Truong twice. The first time was for a thorough clean. I dropped it off and he was done with it quick and the price was reasonable. My computer came back super clean and happy. The second time, I had left it overnight in very cold weather and my battery died. After nearly five years, it was to be expected. Truong changed the battery and also did some data recovery (now I realise the data was lost due to my dying battery). I was able to have my computer back in time to do my work and the price was very reasonable. Fast and efficient service and he is simply NICE. I would recommend him to anyone! read more

This guy sucks! 1 day quote my azz. i have tried 3 times to get a quote on fixing my macbook and I have never heard back from him. I called left a message, requested a quote from the yelp site and one from his own website - NOTHING. read more

Truong is the BEST. His advice made a super annoying Java error that I put up with for well over a year disappear in an instant. YES! So very happy. read more

Truong is great! Super knowledgeable, totally trusted him to give me honest assessment of repairs needed, cost, and any risk. Price quoted up front did not change a penny from end charge. I had spilled coffee on my 2012 macbook air. Some of the keys weren't working- not just stuck. Totally not working. Was worried the cost of repair would make it more advisable to just buy a new comp, which I was not thrilled about. Emailed Truong about issue, and he gave me up front notice that if logic board or certain other components were damaged, cost of repair would be much higher than if all he had to replace was keyboard. And he wouldn't know what needed replacement until he opened it up and saw what was messed up. Truong sent me pictures throughout the process which not only was great service, but also really interesting. Fortunately for me, I just needed a new keyboard, so total cost was $180. Truong told me there was some risk that with the replacement of just the keyboard and not the total top- that might make the keyboard feel unstable in the middle. Ultimately, though, he did such a great and thorough job with the replacement that this was not an issue. I really like that this is a small, independent business. Truong is very through, and available outside 9-5 hrs, which was key for me. I brought my laptop in Monday evening, he took it apart, cleaned it out, let it dry, made his diagnosis, ordered the new keyboard, it took 3 days for that delivery- it arrived on Saturday, and he installed it the same day and had it ready for pick up by Sat eve. I had told him there was no rush up front, but he did everything super fast anyway. So, would highly recommend IT Sage for all your mac repair needs. read more

The hard drive in my MacBook Pro crashed for the second time in a year. The first time this happened, I went to two Apple stores (Rosedale AND MOA) and they basically told me that since I purchased my computer through MacMall, there was nothing they could do for me....even though my computer was still covered by Apple care. So I bought a hard drive on newegg.com and had it put in and spent too much time and money on the process. Come 10 months later (May 2013), the same thing happened again. I was determined to find a better way to solve this problem. I browsed the internet and the second call I made was to Truong. He listened to me attentively when I explained to him what was going on with my computer and gave me very honest, simple advice. I also suggested to buy my new hard drive at Micro Center in SLP, which I had never been to before. I took my computer to Truong and the next day it was ready to go. He also cleaned the inside and out of my MacBook. This was such a stress free process compared to my last experience. I will be taking my computer, and referring everyone to Truong from here on out. His rate is affordable, even with his traveling fee, if you opt for him to come to you. TRUONG THE IT SAGE IS THE MAN!!! read more

I came across a major issue, when I was replacing my hard drive on my iMac, in the process I messed up a component on my logic board which makes the display work. Apple and other people were going to charge $600+ to replace and fix it. I did some of my own research in trying to find people to fix it and how to repair the problem for cheaper instead of replacing. I finally found a solution which required some micro soldering. But I did not want to attempt another repair after the first fiasco. I called Truong and he was happy to do it. He is prompt, and quite through. He was great and saved a ton of money. These days it is hard to find people that want to do any actual repairs to save money and they want to go straight to replacing (most expensive option). read more

Being new to the area I wasn't sure where to look for computer support. My refurbished MacBook had been acting up on me so after a Google search and reading a few Yelp reviews I knew Truong was the way to go! He was very prompt and courteous in his emails and was very easy to work with when establishing pick up and drop off times. Truong fixed my issue and went above and beyond - cleaning my keyboard and monitor for me! He maintained email communication throughout the process. I would definitely recommend Truong to anyone looking for great affordable service. read more

Our home network, which is quite complex, needed some connectivity work that was over my head. Truong, the IT Sage, arrived on time dressed neatly and was very courteous. Hi sEnglish is splendid and his demeanor is wonderful. He is a great guy. However, I hired him to work my network over and boy did he. His understanding of the complexities of an advanced wireless network with many devices competing for airspace is thorough. He is very reasonably priced and I will not hesitate to make him my first call for my home or office next time. I highly recommend him. read more

I hired Truong to transfer two operating systems -- Mac OS and Windows 7 -- from one MacBook Air to another. Windows 7 was on a Bootcamp partition, and I wasn't confident that I'd be able to safely migrate the two OS's and various programs and applications associated with each to the new computer. Truong came to my home and accomplished the task within a few hours. He was thoroughly professional and highly competent, and his rates were quite reasonable. I'd hire him again without hesitation. read more

I took our macbook pro and had it looked at by Truong. He was quick to respond to all of our questions and was very professional every step of the way. I took a chance with IT Sage based on the yelp reviews and I'm really glad I did. Highly recommended! read more

Truong did a great job replacing the thermal paste on my laptop's CPU. He went out of his way to test my laptop's performance after the job and cleaned it as well. He was quick, responsive, patient with my questions and charged a fair price. I highly recommend Truong. He knows his stuff and he was a pleasure to work with. read more

Truong fixed my computer after a Windows 7 update made it no longer functional (thanks Microsoft!?). Truong fixed it fast and took the time to sit down and explain what was wrong, what he did to fix the problem and how I can avoid the issue in the future. Really great customer experience and very reasonably priced! read more

I arranged an appointment with The IT Sage. No hassle to get to location and no problem parking. I had an old IMac that needed a compete over haul. Not only was the IT Sage thorough in their work and quote, they kept me informed about my computer, the update, and my options. It was done in just a couple of days and was so very reasonably priced. Did I say reasonable, I mean VERY reasonable. I now have a virtually new apple computer and I am so pleased. Thanks so much. I will be bringing my Mac Probook over sometime in the future and when my son finishes college, I now know a place I can take his if he needs work done. The IT Sage did not talk tech mumbo jumbo to me, and was not tech condescending nor did he try and sell me something I didn't need. He was very helpful in explaining in lay terms options for me and what was going on with my iMac. I couldn't have asked for much more. (The dog Max, is a real charmer too!!!) Thanks Truong read more

My system suffered an external hard drive "incident" but not a crash. I did an online search for computer repair businesses in my area and discovered ITSage. reviews were wonderful so I asked a question of Truong on-line and had an immediate response. Within four hours he had diagnosed the problem and began a recovery scan. When he determined his software was not capable of performing the "deep scan" necessary to recover valuable data, he referred me to a national company to begin the recovery-all within 48 hours. Truon is professional, prompt, and thorough. He communicates while teaching the customer about the problem. Hsi fees are very reasonable and I highly recommend his work. My operating system is OS X but he obviously works on many platforms. read more

Truong was everything you would want from a person servicing your personal computer. From our initial contact via email to his in-home set up of my new computer, Truong was trustworthy and very capable. His responses to my initial questions were prompt and his original quote for timeframe of the service and cost of service was as I expected with no unauthorized surprises. I felt very comfortable as he performed a cleanup of the data that had migrated from my original 2008 Mac through newer models ending in a migration of fresh data to my new 2019 Mac. I am very happy and would recommend Truong to anyone needing professional, trustworthy service. read more

My Gateway PC was in horrible condition before I decided to give Truong (The IT Sage) a chance. I had called several other computer repair businesses, and their estimate fee alone to diagnose the problem was outrageous. Luckily Truong fixed my computer at a fraction of the cost. My computer was running Windows and had been infected with a virus and a lot of malware and spyware programs. I called The IT Sage up and scheduled an appointment the same day (keep in mind I live about 50 minutes from the Twin Cities). Before I knew it, the two-month long nightmare of dealing with my computer had been solved. I really appreciated Truong's friendliness and patience explaining what the problems were and what he did to fix them. My computer now runs faster than ever. I'd recommend The IT Sage to anyone who wants friendly, fast computer service! read more

For any computer problems, Truong is awesome! I live in St. Paul, MN, and have used him through his website as the IT Sage (that's how I met him) six times over the last few years. Both my wife and I have Macintosh computers and we work for ourselves at home, and when problems come up, especially for configuration (which has to be done physically here, where we are, with all out equipment here), Truong will literally come to our home and fix up the problem. Over the years, we've now got Macbooks, a Time Capsule (which backs up storage, and also is used as a router), and we each have iPhones. It's funny, big computer and tech companies seem to assume that if you are buying their products, you are automatically an expert on all things IT related, so suddenly, I not only need to run my business, I need to be able to repair and configure all the computer-related issues? Email, printer, fax, scanning, wireless, hooking up to the television, now our phones...life is getting more complicated (while it's supposed to be getting simpler!) Basically, life is getting simpler with this stuff, but when it breaks, suddenly it's WAY more complicated. Truong is able to come over, sometimes even the same-day, and he ALWAYS fixes the problem - and at a very reasonable rate! He's even cheaper if you can bring your computer to him, and man, every time he comes over, I pick his brain with a bunch of other questions I always have. A+ work!!! read more

My hard drive crashed right before a class that was based on all of my work prior. I would have been S.O.L. if all of my papers, etc. were lost. I called the IT Sage after a panic attack and reading his yelp reviews and he did not disappoint. Fast, friendly, and super affordable! Thank you so much! read more

In Truong We Trust!!!!! The IT Sage will now be my first stop if I encounter any problems with my MacBook. Truong took in my laptop immediately and worked on it right away- much faster than Apple ever could have AND for a fraction of the price. Not only did he work on my laptop, but he also explained EVERYTHING to me along the way (which is important to me, as I am nowhere near tech savvy). Just a genuinely nice guy, you can truly tell he cares about solving the problem. Thanks Truong! read more

I recently spilled coffee on my Macbook Pro and then did everything wrong (turned it on again, tipped it over, blew a fan in it, etc.) The Apple store geniuses (sic) told me it would be at least a $750 repair if it could be repaired. They pressured me to buy a new one. I looked online and found the ITSage and brought it out to him. He was honest about the chances of success (50%) but he worked his magic and now I have a totally clean and well-working laptop again. Even better he gave me other tips about getting the speed up. And his fee was incredibly reasonable. He is going to be my go-to guy for mac repair for the rest of my life! read more
