I did not use their services but this was my experience. I brought in a gaming laptop I bought for $450 a few years ago (it was a Victus of FB marketplace). I set it down and told him it wouldn't turn on and explained what I tried. He told me his rate was $125 per 30 minutes and he wouldn't even touch it until I agreed. So he didn't know if he could even fix it let alone how long or if there would be added costs for the fix. He told me this was a "VERY fair rate". So this was WAY more than I expected to pay being an hour of work equated to over half the cost of my device. I then went to Micro Center down the road who could diagnose it for $80 flat and would help cover any costs of the fix. I went with Micro Center and they fix my computer and returned it 3 days later for $120 total. Now I think this business could've fixed my computer same day but I would've guessed at double the price and I didn't mind waiting. Overall I'm giving this a 2 because it seems expensive and telling me it was a fair rate seemed dishonest. The one employee wasn't overall very mean or anything but he came across as unwilling to help or answer any questions I had. read more

We have been going to Keith for many years for our computer needs. His knowledge about computers is amazing. However, his communication skills are AWFUL. He is impatient when I, a non-technical person, am trying to explain the problem. A few days ago, I called him about a problem with my computer and printer. When we arrived, it took me a while to walk into his office. When I came in, he said he had already fixed both. I didn't question him. Took it home. Printer problem resolved- computer not. Called him this morning. Told him the problem was not resolved. He told me I hadn't communicated well. Therefore, It would not be covered by the warranty. I told him I communicated what I was experiencing as well as I could. He was the expert. Not me. He should have been more careful addressing the issue with me present instead of hurrying through it in a matter of minutes before I was even in the room. He charged me $128.00 for both and my computer is still not working right. I should get paid for listening to his endless stories about his failed relationships. My second review of Strike Twice in the last year. Since June 2020 I have purchased two computers from Keith. The first was a previously owned, but much improved (by Keith) machine. I had a number of problems with it that, I don't believe, were related to the hardware, but rather some of the software I had been using. Keith was very generous with his time and efforts to help me resolve the issues. However, I'd finally had enough of it and decided to purchase a new PC from him. I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with the service, the hardware, and Keith's very generous efforts in helping me get back on board with projects, internet surfing, and completing tasks at hand. My new HP PC is on the left. I bought a second and used monitor from him (in the middle), and the camera on top of that monitor. Keith is and always will be the first person I contact when it comes to resolving computer issues and purchasing equipment. I inadvertently downloaded several browser add-ins (I *never* do this but was in a hurry and was blindly clicking agreements to download Java!!!) and needed help to clean out the last piece of malware. I had passed Strike Twice several times after I joined a local small business mentoring organization located in the same small office building behind Knollwood Mall. Their technician offered to take a look at my laptop while I was at the office. The initial diagnosis was for a typical one-hour eval, but the nature of my laptop setup and the "spiral" malware forced them to spend another few hours to get to the bottom of the problem. Adding up those hours for same-day return makes for an expensive inadvertent click, but it does appear that everything is back to normal. In addition, my laptop appears to be slightly faster. However, it is difficult (for me at least) to determine if the registry is completely cleaned out. At some level, this type of support should be anticipated for anyone who uses their Windows computer regularly. Even so, it's frustrating to have to resort to an expert to help with something so invasive, but they certainly saved me numerous hours on my own trying to get to the same point. I did have a slight problem trying to redeem a Yelp! coupon that I had purchased that morning ($75 or $100 of service), in that it took half an hour for the transaction to post. The offer was several years old and I was apparently the first person to ever use it. In the end, it would have been easier to just take the standard $20 off for a new customer (plus a 5% discount to pay in cash). read more

I took my computer in to Keith at Strike Twice. I had been getting various versions of the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with a different error message each time for weeks. This included multiple times a day on startup, as well as just quitting in mid-operation, mid-application, or mid-browsing. It would also not load updated versions of Windows 10. My machine is six years old so I could expect a few problems to occur, but not like this after trips to multiple other credible repair shops. Keith explained his rates up front and gave me a quote. I noticed on his website that he provided quotes upon arrival, but with this set of problems I did not expect one. I was wrong. He replaced a bad stick of RAM, a defective hard drive, re-installed the latest version of Windows 10 after first trying to save it, and recovered my data in the process. He also replaced a defective DVD/CD internal drive I knew about at my request. Then he tested everything. He kept my machine for one day, then a second night to let his repairs run to ensure everything was fixed and not re-occurring. I have not had any problems since of ANY kind. This is the first time in well over a year! He checked with me before making any repairs and demonstrated to me that my defective parts were indeed broken. His final cost was in line with his original quote up front. Keith is also modest, has a good sense of humor, and as you can tell from this review, is particularly good at complex repairs. The computer expert did a diagnostic look at our laptop. He did not talk down to me, nor did he try to sell me anything I didn't need. He honestly told me what was wrong, that the computer was worth saving if we wanted. If we didn't want to keep it, they offer a trade-in allowance or would have purchased it if we wanted. When your computer goes down, work stops and you make no money. Every hour you're down is critical. I've used Strike Twice several times to address some hardware failures on my laptops.
