Said retailer, (who shall remain nameless,) then refused to take the computer back. Days later, a Norton tech (one of many companies I worked with online) was able to restore my original Windows account, but with presets lost. I limped along on my project. Then my keyboard failed. I had only the virtual onscreen keyboard. Techs blamed hardware and signed off. We're up to Friday, July 3rd, eve of the 250th celebrations. I knew it was time for an onsite rescue, and a friend recommended PC Mike. I left a desperate phone message, hoping to hear from him after the weekend to make an appointment for a visit the following week. To my surprise, PC Mike called me back a couple of hours later, listened to my woes and said, "Maybe I can solve it from here. Let me sign in and have a look." He was calling from his holiday vacation getaway! It took him less than ten minutes to solve the keyboard problem, and another half hour, less, to solve the problems the techs from the four major companies involved had spent hours on and failed - I had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend!
