I described my issue with my freezer (loud buzzing sound when the motor comes on) and he was able to schedule a technician to come by on Monday afternoon to work around my schedule. The technician, Vasyl, texted me when he was on his way and arrived promptly as scheduled. He was able to quickly diagnose the issue (ice build up that was hitting the freezer fan when it turns on). To repair, I needed to move all the food items out of the freezer and into coolers, and Vasyl was able to quickly repair the issue by manually defrosting the ice build up using a commercial steamer tool. He inspected the fan and it was still operating normally and no buzzing, so it did not need to be replaced. He was able to diagnose the issue and finish the work within one hour of arrival. The repair price was reasonable and the inspection fee was waived since I went ahead with the repair. Vasyl also answered my questions about how to prevent this from happening again and also some recommendations on future fridges when it is time to replace mine. Vasyl was very friendly, professional, and courteous. Thank you Vitalii and Vasyl for fixing my fridge on such short notice. My family really appreciates the quick turnaround, fast diagnosis and repair, your transparency on the issue, and not recommending any unnecessary replacement parts. You saved us money from buying a whole new fridge!

I paid Appliance ER $110.04 for a diagnostic visit on my Bertazzoni refrigerator. During that…read morevisit, the technician showed me the failed part -- the main control panel -- and explained it would need to be replaced. After receiving their estimate, I was shocked. Appliance ER quoted me $1,935.02 to replace a part that I was able to purchase directly from Bertazzoni for $249.95. This is not a complicated repair. The control panel is a plug-and-play unit. The installation instructions are straightforward and publicly available: Turn off the breaker, unplug the unit, take a photo of the wiring, swap the panel, and reconnect. That's it. No sealed system work. No refrigerant. No special tools. No advanced labor. Yet the quote reflects nearly $1,700 in markup for a part swap that takes minutes. What's most concerning is that the technician physically showed me the panel during the diagnostic, so I was able to verify exactly what part was needed and how simple the replacement is. This felt far less like a repair estimate and far more like an attempt to take advantage of a homeowner who doesn't know they can order the part themselves. I understand companies need to make money. I do not understand a 7-8x markup on a plug-in component with minimal labor. If you use Appliance ER, make sure you price the part yourself before approving any work. It may save you thousands.

(I've read several other reviews saying he was late. We did not have that issue, and our appointment was definitely not the first one of the day. He called to let me know when he was about 15 minutes away, and after he left, he was literally running to his car to the next appointment!) I felt the pricing for fixing our dryer was fair-as he had to take it apart twice to fix the issue, which took longer than expected. He also shared some tips are prolonging the life of our washer and dishwasher! Thanks Vlad, for fixing our dryer. It doesn't smell like fire anymore when we start it up!

TL;DR: Believe the low rating and stay away from them. I'm surprised Bosch and others are still…read morerecommending them tainting their brand. I had this technician service my built-in Bosch microwave last year. I specifically requested a control board replacement, but the technician chose to repair the board instead yet still charged me full price. That repair failed about a year later, resulting in the same issue recurring. During the original service, I was told the $160 diagnostic fee (for a 10 minute visit) would be applied toward the repair (standard practice), but the final bill did not reflect that. When I contacted them again in a year for the same issue, the technician came out but did not disclose a diagnostic fee upfront. Given the prior repair and recurring issue, I assumed this would be handled as a continuation of the previous work. However, I was charged another $160 diagnostic fee. When I questioned the charge, I was told it would be sent to collections if I did not pay, which I found inappropriate given the circumstances. At this point, I have paid over $1,300 to this business, and the microwave is still not fixed. Overall, the experience lacked clear communication and alignment on scope and pricing. I would recommend confirming all details in writing before proceeding.
