I was referred to this company directly through LG, and I'm so happy they did! I was able to get an appointment quickly(called Friday, and appointment on Monday) and Vlad arrived on time, and was very professional. (I've read several other reviews saying he was late. We did not have that issue, and our appointment was definitely not the first one of the day. He called to let me know when he was about 15 minutes away, and after he left, he was literally running to his car to the next appointment!) I felt the pricing for fixing our dryer was fair-as he had to take it apart twice to fix the issue, which took longer than expected. TL;DR: Believe the low rating and stay away from them. I'm surprised Bosch and others are still recommending them tainting their brand. I had this technician service my built-in Bosch microwave last year. I specifically requested a control board replacement, but the technician chose to repair the board instead yet still charged me full price. That repair failed about a year later, resulting in the same issue recurring. During the original service, I was told the $160 diagnostic fee (for a 10 minute visit) would be applied toward the repair (standard practice), but the final bill did not reflect that. When I contacted them again in a year for the same issue, the technician came out but did not disclose a diagnostic fee upfront. Given the prior repair and recurring issue, I assumed this would be handled as a continuation of the previous work. However, I was charged another $160 diagnostic fee. When I questioned the charge, I was told it would be sent to collections if I did not pay, which I found inappropriate given the circumstances. At this point, I have paid over $1,300 to this business, and the microwave is still not fixed. Overall, the experience lacked clear communication and alignment on scope and pricing. The worse thing was they charged a $125/consultation fee and then without confirming the final amount with me started fixing the dishwasher. After it was done gave me a $400 bill. Thats insane I would have bought a new dishwasher for $600 or so why pay someone $400 to repair an old dishwasher. I'm not sure why Express Appliance Service has received some low ratings. If I could give him ten stars I would. They are way more professional than the previous company that my warranty dispatched. They walked me through my dryer and oven issues and ensure my oven was 100% fixed before leaving us. They were so careful replacing the stove top part. The owner and his employee were so nice and explained how to maintain all the appliances properly. I would definitely use them again in the future. Express Appliance was dispatched to me via my home warranty company (Old Republic - also 1 star.) I specifically stated that my dishwasher handle was broken along with the make & model of my dishwasher. The tech who arrived barely spoke English and was very eager to collect the service fee. He arrived unprepared, without the correct tools or parts despite knowing exactly what the problem was prior to arrival. He actually left my dishwasher more broken than it was prior to his arrival. I was previously able to use my dishwasher even though the handle was broken. Now, it won't latch and is a mess and they won't return my calls. My dryer got fixed, but I unnecessarily paid for a second visit. I paid Vlad the diagnostic fee ($89.95 + tax) for the first visit and he said he needed to order parts. Then when he returned, he charged me labor to tighten up belts and clean the inside of the dryer ($148) and said it turned out the parts weren't needed after all. It made no sense to me why he didn't repair the dryer the first time he was there, since I knew him to be a competent repairman from previous experience. Everyone can have a bad day, I guess, but I feel I was charged for an unnecessary extra trip. read more

I was referred to this company by LG to service our washer for a warranty repair. The appointment was scheduled on 9/16 from 9 am - noon. At noon, I called to find out if the technician was coming and was told he would be at my home soon - that was another hour and fifteen minutes later. The tech, who was extremely difficult to understand, spent about five minutes looking at my washer and concluded that a part needed to be ordered. Upon leaving, he asked to use my restroom. (I get it if you've been working for a few hours, but it had only been a few minutes. Fine, but not professional.) In any case, the tech informed me that the part would be ordered and they would follow up. Exactly one month later, I called to check the status of my repair. I was surprised that no one bothered to reach out during that time. I was told that the part was on order and would be arriving any day now. The receptionist offered to reschedule the repair for a couple of weeks later, but only had one day and time to offer since they needed to send two techs. I ended up moving another appointment to make this time work. That date was today, scheduled for noon - 3 pm. I received a missed call at 8:15 am, but no message. I called back to see why they reached out. The manager made notes that he left me voicemail stating that they couldn't do the repair and that I would need to bring my washer into a service center. WTH? Yeah, let me just throw my washer in the back of my car and get on that. I decided to call LG and learned that EAS had called LG earlier saying that I canceled my appointment to go with a different company. I didn't cancel on them. They canceled on me. After learning this and adding to all of the other hassles, I actually did ask to work with another company. LG offered to send one of their own techs. Knowing that we needed the new part and to help ensure the appointment wasn't a waste of more time, I asked if the LG tech could get the part from EAS. They apologized and said they couldn't because Express Appliance Service NEVER ORDERED THE PART. Now, after almost two months, I get to start the process all over again. Ironic considering I've being dealing with a company whose name includes the word express. UPDATE: I received a call from the manager at EAS. After explaining my entire experience working with them, there was no apology or explanation regarding the part that was never ordered. Instead, I received an excuse on why they couldn't do the repair today (the second tech "couldn't work my appointment into his schedule".) The manager's version is that he called LG to let them know they couldn't do the repair today and to see if someone else could. When LG told him no one else was available, he thought it was best to cancel altogether and have me get the repair done somewhere else. I'm not sure how anything would have been fixed today without the new part. However, he is correct in that it is best for me to take my business somewhere else. What a joke. UPDATE #2: The LG rep just left. After taking off the back panel of our washer, he confirmed that the issue was with the bearings. He said the EAS tech likely thought it was the rotary (it wasn't) and would not have been able to figure out the correct issue without looking behind the washer (he didn't). Given that our warranty is up in two weeks and that EAS wasn't even tackling the problem properly, the LG rep said it was probably best EAS didn't help. Bullet. Dodged. read more

Express Appliance was engaged by Costco to fix a dent in our brand new refrigerator that was delivered defective. (The saga regarding the defective refrigerator is a separate issue.) Vlad arrived at 4 pm. which was two hours late from the 10-2 pm window. This is after multiple phone calls on my part asking if he was still coming. Upon arrival he asks for the receipt for the fridge. I tell him we ordered the fridge online and that Costco engaged you and that I have an order # but no receipt. He proceeds to take the plastic off the fridge and says he cant fix it, and that someone from his company will call me. No one calls so I follow up with Costco and I find out that Vlad has informed Costco that the dent was caused by the delivery people. Vlad LIED. What a complete jerk and scam artist! read more

DIdn't exactly choose Express Appliance - washer broke with 8 days left on the warranty (yeah I know, unbelievable, usually it's the other way!!). Called LG on a Thursday, at 430, and they told us Vladimar would be there between 8 - 12, the next day, Friday. Express Appliance called at 11 on Friday and made an appt on Monday.. I blame LG for that one. Vlad called 10 minutes before he arrived, and he was within the appt window. He was polite, professional, very nice guy. He fixed the washing machine (Hooray!), showed me what was wrong with it, and explained what I needed to do to prevent it from happening again. I don't know what their pricing is like, since it was under warranty, but as far as great service and fixing the problem goes - they were terrific. read more

I have First American Home Buyers Protection who selected Express Appliance Service for my dishwasher which wasn't draining. I called and set up an appt and was given a 4 hour window and suggested to call around lunchtime to get a more specific time. Vlad showed up and is a very friendly and helpful person. Very conscientious of houses, he put bags over his shoes and got to work. After about 20 min he got it to drain but suspected the pump was at the end of its life. He gave cleaning recommendations and if it didn't drain after the next full cycle, call back and he would come out to replace. It didn't drain, so came back out again 2 days later and replaced it. I cannot recommend Express Appliance Service enough, Vlad is very knowledgable, friendly and respectful and shares his knowledge of my appliances to keep them going. read more

We purchased our home in July! We realized our broiler and oven didn't work with our gas appliance. We went through our homeowners warranty and were told Express Appliance would reach out to make an appointment for the repair. Don't try to call them because you'll be on the phone for hours. They sent a repair man 2 weeks later and we were told we needed parts. Once the parts arrive, they call back to schedule the technician to come back. The same technician came back in August and stated we needed another part and 2 technicians to repair this appliance. When Express Appliance called to schedule two technicians to return, I explained I never received the extra part they needed and she told me the technician would pick up the part on his way. The soonest we could get an appointment for two technicians was September 21st. The first technician arrived and knew nothing about a part he had to pick up. When the 2nd technician arrived, he didn't have the part either. These two technicians determined our oven has a serious gas leak and one of the parts previously ordered was incorrect. More than 2 months later, we are still at square one. Parts still need to be ordered and who knows when this repair will ever happen. That's just the oven issue. We needed a part for the freezer as our ice maker isn't making ice. After waiting 6 weeks, I asked the appliance store (when they called for the oven) where my part is. She told me the freezer isn't covered under warranty so it was never ordered. No one called to let us know. We told Express Appliance we would pay for the part and repair. Three weeks later when we never received the part, I was able to reach them (only 1.5 hours on hold) and the Express Appliance person told me I needed to call the warranty company. I explained the home warranty was NOT covering that repair and we were willing to pay out of pocket and already put 50% down. She put me on hold, came back and said "Samsung couldn't send the part so we are refunding your money". I have never received deplorable service like this before. Communication is very poor and each technician didn't know what the previous technician did because of poor notes following the visit. The worst part is these two technicians noticed a serious gas leak which means another part needs to be ordered and I can't use my stove top. So frustrating to say the least!! read more

I'm questioning the reviews on here. I think some people are confusing EXPRESS HOME SERVICE 206-306-4515 with Vlad with Express Appliance Service. Express home service was assigned to my Choice Home Warranty claim. They never called to set up the appointment. I called them Monday, the gentlemen was difficult to understand, seemed un-organized but said he would be out today (Wednesday). They were a no show. They finally called me back, again hard to understand. It's not necessarily his accent, I could deal with that, but the phone connection on how he was talking into the phone when communicating. There was a lot of rustling around. It was a 5 minute conversation, mostly waiting for him to talk and he finally said that he'd call me back tomorrow. I called our home warranty company and asked for a new company. Looking at the reviews there seems to be a clear difference in service between the two companies. I didn't want to leave a negative review if this account is for Vlad with Express Appliance Service. Google was not able to help me determine if they are different companies. Good luck! read more

Do yourself and pay attention to the ratings. This organization lies, stalls, and does not respond. I asked to speak to a manager or owner and was told he would get back to me when he had time. Two days later no call. They were very prompt to come for the $95 diagnosis fee but were there a very short time and I had no confidence in the diagnosis as they waited impatiently for the check. This is the only thing express about this company I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and contacting my bank to see if there is any way to recoup my money. They require cash or check for diagnosis payment because you have recourse with a CC for unsatisfactory service. Our Samsung refrigerator wasn't keeping cold so we called Express Appliance Service. They sent someone out who was an hour late. He looked inside the fridge, checked the temp. and said we needed a new compressor. The freezer worked fine, the ice maker worked fine and our deli drawer was fine too. Just the fridge box wasn't fine. He gave an estimate of $1,474. $790 for the compressor $510 labor, $110 service charge plus tax. Not liking what we were hearing we called Samsung. They came out and put in a new fan. $170 flat rate for labor and $127 for fan and misc. parts. Total bill $297. $1,474 or $297. Draw your own conclusion. Oh and a compressor from Samsung would have been less than $200. We won't be calling them again. KAL read more

Nothing about their service deserves the title "Express." I shouldn't have to put so much work in just to get a response from them. I don't even know where to start with this review, this company has caused me a massive headache that has lasted 7 weeks and counting. I was referred to them via my home warranty (American Home Shield) to fix our dishwasher and dryer. Per the referral someone was supposed to call me within 24 business hours to schedule an appointment. After a couple days I started calling the number provided, and it ultimately it took 11 days to finally get a call back. The tech showed up at my home on time, wasn't very personable but not unprofessional at all. He spent a few minutes at each appliance, said he needed parts, had me sign and off he went. After the expected date for parts passed, and I reached out via email and phone, I got a call back to schedule the repairs. I shouldn't have had to reach out to them, but at the time was a minor gripe... Well when he showed up (it was the same tech, and an hour early) he acted like he had never been here before although he was only here 10 days ago and SUPPOSEDLY had the parts ready to install. I had to explain AGAIN what the problems were with the machines, he spent no more than a few minutes at each noting the model numbers (all the while answering at least 5 calls to schedule appointments for other people) and was about to leave. I confronted him (nicely) and said he was supposed to have had parts to install and all he said was "I need more parts." It was obvious he had no parts and did not do any sort of attempt at troubleshooting while he was there. The saga has continued for weeks. Here are the highlights: 1) They did "re-order" parts (they never did after the first visit), but then weeks later tried claiming they never received them, though they never bothered to even call the parts dealer after the expected delivery date passed by more than a week. 2) When the warranty company said they had delivery confirmation that they BOTH were delivered 16 days ago they claimed they had one but "lost" the other (of course it was the more expensive part. I wouldn't be surprised if they turned around and sold it online somewhere.) 3) The warranty company removed them from the work for the dryer for "losing" the part, but asked them to do the repairs for the dishwasher. They agreed to call me ASAP to schedule the repair, but it's been a week now and I still haven't heard from them. Tl;dr: I have no idea how they stay in business. They didn't order parts when they said they would, they "lost" an expensive part, and never respond to phone calls or emails. I've never been anything but kind, courteous, and respectful to them but somehow they have decided I am not worth their time. I'm also reeeeaaallly sick of having to go to a laundromat all the time. I concur with a number of post concerning this company and confusion around getting my appliance fixed. My home warrantee company set the appointment and I called to confirm. Left a number of voice mails and finally got them on the phone. The person that took the call was very unorganized, hard to understand due to phone over modulation/ heavy accent, and was just rude (no customer service). I finally had to call my home warrantee company back and request another local repair organization to fix my appliance. The warrantee company asked why I requested a another company be dispatched to fix my appliance. I do not have confidence in a repair company that cannot complete setting an appointment less to fix my issue. I will never do business with this company and suggest you do the same. read more

This was the worst experience ever! Don't use this company!! We were told when we requested service that the charge would be a service-call which was $80.00 and parts. We explained the problem with the stove, so that the service man would be prepared to fix it. The person they sent out was incredibly difficult to understand but located the short on the stove within 10 minutes, went out to the truck and came back with the switch that needed to be replaced. He then had second thought about installing it, saying that it will probably work,but he should order the particular switch from the manufacturer. I asked if I would be charged for another visit. He said no, just the part and I paid $84.55 for the visit. No one called back from the company to schedule a follow up, so I called and talked to Dan, the manager. He came to fix our oven but was also giving us tips on how to maintain our dishwasher and washing machine so they last a long time. Took 2 weeks to get an appointment to troubleshoot why our electric dryer stopped working. Vlad came and diagnosed the problem as the dryer was getting only 120 volts - 1/2 of the required 240 volts. He said to call an electrician to fix the voltage problem. The electrician came and checked the circuit breaker for the dryer. 240 volts. He then pulled the plug from the wall and checked the voltage at the outlet. 240 volts. He then pulled the cover where the cord enters the dryer and his meter showed 240 volts coming into the dryer. So how did Vlad arrive at 120 volts? Your guess is as good as mine. Incompetent. I will never use Express Appliance Service again nor recommend them to anyone. read more

Let me say upfront that I have American Home Shield so I have no choice on who comes out to fix my dryer. Today would have been the 4th visit out to fix my dryer. I initially called them because my dryer was making an odd squeak when I was on my 3rd load of the day (I have 2 kids so tons of laundry). The first repairman said the dryer needed to be cleaned so he proceeded to take the entire appliance apart. I had no idea a dryer could be made into so many parts. He then put the entire thing back together and said the real problem was my vent was clogged. I asked how this could be possible as the vent had been cleaned the month prior. He said they didn't do a good job. Ok, I'll call them to come back. I paid my $75 and showed him the door. I had 4 towels to dry from the pool and placed them inside. It sounded like I had placed 4 pairs of shoes instead. It was horrible. I turned it off and unplugged the dryer. I called them back and was told they would not come back out until I had my vents cleaned. They wouldn't even schedule a time with me. The company that cleaned the vents came back 2 days later and did them again. they found nothing. This was now the 4th time my vents were cleaned in 2 years! Most home owners don't do this more than 1 every 2 years. A new technician came out and said "Oh, yes. Your vents are definitely clogged. The dryer is over heating.". I asked why the dryer now made this horrible sound. He insisted it was because the vents were clogged and the dryer was overheating. WHAT? He then proceeded to take the dryer apart, AGAIN!, and put it back together again. He said a new part was needed and put it in. A month later, the dryer works with this horrendous noise. But it works. Until 2 days ago when all of a sudden the noise stops. It does one more load and then "BANG!". I open the dryer and the silver piece is now bopping around inside my dryer along with 3 screws. I call American Home Shield. Express Appliance Services calls me back with an appointment for 10/2 between 9-12. No one arrived until 12:55. I called to speak to a manager and I've been on hold for 14 minutes and counting. If you have a choice in who to choose, don't choose this company. read more

I will say that when I used this company through insurance/warranty they were great. HOWEVER as soon as I was out of warranty and I called them they were ATROCIOUS. They charged a hefty fee for coming out the first time to check it out, fine. They then said they needed to order a part and would come back. I had an appointment time from 8-11, at 10:30 when I called they said my appointment time was actually 9-12 and the technician was going to be late. The technician FINALLY showed up after 3pm!!! I had to take off an ENTIRE day for this. THEN, they said they didn't have the right part and it would take another 10 days to order it. I told them I needed to be their first appointment at 8am. Vlad agreed to this and made a note, and the secretary made a note of this in her file as well. The Thursday before my Monday appointment they called to say that they wouldn't be coming until 1pm. WHAT?! When I called and asked them about this they said there was nothing they could do and NOT ONLY THAT but that they didn't even have the part ready for me. It would take another 10 days and that they never had a note that I wanted an 8am appointment. So not only did they go back on their promise for my appointment time (after making me wait for HOURS for my previous appointment) but they never ordered the part to begin with. Meaning it would take even MORE time for the part to be delivered. I asked that the manager call me, he NEVER DID. The receptionist was incredibly rude and said there was nothing she could do. i have been going back and forth with these rude and unprofessional people. the first technician completely lied and said that he went to my home and no one was there. which there wasn't but he called me first and i told him that no one was there and that one of the reps in the office wrote special notes to go to my home after 4:30pm!!! so they had to reschedule my appointment twice because no one could get it right! now here's the fun part. 5/14/18 between 2-6 was my new appointment. i get a text with a link to track mr. roy c who was on his way (who would arrive in 1 hour and 57 mins) i got the text @ 4:43 by the way! so i checked up on it again it said 10 minutes and that was at like 5:40, about 2 minutes later someone is banging on my screen door. my husband goes to the door and had to ask him who he was!!! no id, lanyard, greeting, clip board, tool bag nothing that could help us think that he was a technician to come fix the fridge. he goes to our fridge and uses his phone as a flash light?!?!?! tells us what happened with one issue we had that made sense. then when we ask him about the leak from the fridge when we have the hose on to make ice and filtered water he takes off the front panel to the bottom portion of the fridge when we turn the water back on and looks with his phone again and says, "i don't know why it's doing that." my brother asks him questions to try to brain storm other possibilities and his arrogant response was, "i've been doing this for 40 years i wasn't down their for my health." wait, did i mention that he had my house smelling like cigar smoke when he came in?? so his diagnosis was that he'll order new tubes and if the insurance says yes i'll fix it if not then we can't do anything! so i asked for a receipt for proof of him being there he said they don't do that and he does everything through an app??? so i asked him so what are you going to order....he starts loudly talking over me and says," i don't know what you want i can't give you anything." i told him if you would stop cutting me off you would understand what i'm asking you. he's basically going to replace stuff until he see's no more water! that's his 40 years of experience plan. today, i called to speak to a manager again! that was 5/15/18 @ 12:39 pm it is now 3:02 pm no call or anything. american home shield referred me to this "wonderful" company and i have been nothing but frustrated with them. read more

Do not ever, ever use these crooks. I also have a Sears Home Warranty. I have been trying for a year to have a GE fridge fixed. This Vlad fellow showed up without an appt. and charged 75$ and said it needed a part and would call me back. Two weeks later, no call. Vlad helped fix our leaking dishwasher this morning and did a quick and excellent job. He could have charged us an arm and a leg for a door and parts replacement, but was able to fix it by tweaking some parts of the dishwasher and releveling it. He is a very kind and honest man and we would have no hesitation asking him for help in the future. read more

My dishwasher was giving me an error light that I could not figure out. I called for an appointment and they scheduled me for the following day in the late afternoon. The next day came and Vlad called me 3 hours earlier to come by, which worked better for my schedule. He saw the error within the first 5 minutes and fixed it under warranty. He provided recommendations with soap levels and using vinegar every couple of months. He also asked about my washer and gave me recommendations on keeping it at its top performance as well. Horrible service from this company. I raised a service request and got them as the contractor. Reached out to them multiple times to get it scheduled. No response for more than 5 days. Couldnt wait longer, so had to cancel them and get another contractor. read more

Do not ever, ever use these crooks. I also have a Sears Home Warranty. I have been trying to have my washer fixed. This Vlad fellow showed up without an appt. and charged $100 and said it needed a part and would call me back. Two weeks later, no call.
