This was not stated to me and your estimate/invoice lists the part cost separately. I also discussed the parts cost with your technician after receiving the emailed estimate. at no time was I told this was a flat price Second, you claim the credit card review found your charges valid. This is simply incorrect. The claim was denied because I did not follow up and specifically they asked for the invoice, which I failed to send. I do not recommend!!! Sub Zero Viking repair (Jeremy, who was a nice guy) came to my home and attempted a repair on my 20 year old Sub Zero 695, he diagnosed the unit as a failed condenser fan, he gave me an estimate for the repair which was $1373. A quick online search said this repair should range in price from $200 to $650, I asked Jeremy to get closer to that cost, which he refused. I felt stuck, I knew the price quote was too high for the part cost and the amount of work being done (less than 30 minute repair), but I needed a refrigerator and did not want to wait for another service appointment so I accepted his repair estimate. I paid, Jeremy did the repair and told me all was good. The next day the service light was again illuminated on the refrigerator which was clearly not repaired. I again called for service and Jeremy came back, this time his diagnosis was that the entire cooling system is bad on the refrigerator section and gave me an estimate for over $4600 to repair it. I told him I am going to call around for other estimates, which I did, and found the company that does factory service for Sub Zero quoted me just over half to repair the refrigerator. Jeremy sent me an invoice for a little over $150 for diagnosing the issue he misdiagnosed the first time when I paid $1373. I think this company has a business model that takes advantage of people in need, and charges prices that have no connection to the cost of the parts and reasonable service time. read more

Great positive feelings about the well-trained, professional technician came out and diagnosed my problem quickly and respectfully. But when I got a quote, it was an outrageous amount ... I see other Yelp reviews have mentioned a shady business model, and if your experience is like theirs *and mine* you might want to have a backup company ready to quote the job.Btw, I'm not talking a little expensive .. I"m warning you it was 3-4x more expensive than another company would charge for the same repair. Yikes. The price for them to look at your Subzero fridge is too good to be true because it is too good to be true. Come to find out this company is not a certified repair company for Subzero/Wolf products. In June they looked over my fridge. It wasn't cooling enough nor was it making ice. Technician came the next day after calling, so that was good. He knocked a few ice cubes off the ice maker and told us to vacuum the compressor (aren't I hiring you to fix it?). Vacuum the compressor and still the fridge is cooling oddly and the freeze is still not making ice. Emailed a few days ago about my corners and nothing. Do not recommend! read more

On 1/17/23, Subzero and Viking Appliance Repair came to my home to diagnose an issue with my Wolf range where my stove burners would not ignite, and my oven would not get warm. They diagnosed that I would need a new control board, which would cost ~$1700. I agreed to the repair, and they replaced the board a few days later. About a 6 weeks later, the exact same issue started to occur with my range again. I gave them a call and scheduled them to come back out. They came back out and spent some time looking at the range to see what the issue was. They proceeded to tell me that there's an issue with my 240V outlet and that I'd need to call an electrician to come fix the power at the outlet. They tried to charge me $150 for a service call, which I refused to pay given that I had already paid $1700 and my issue wasn't fixed. They agreed to not have my pay for the service call. Another week goes by and I get an electrician to check out the power at the breaker and the outlet. The electrician confirms that the power is completely fine and there are no issues with the outlet, wiring in the walls, or the breaker. I pay $90 for their service call. It's now 4/1/23 and I haven't had a working oven for weeks. I give Subzero and Viking Appliance Repair a call to tell them that the electrician said there was nothing wrong with our power. The same appliance repair guy tells me that I probably need to have my range's power cord replaced. He then sends me an estimate for $550! A power cord is $40 from Home Depot and takes 10 minutes to install. I refused to pay $550 for a power cord replacement and they agreed they would come replace the cord for free. At this point, I've lost all trust in the company and they've clearly tried to scam me for more money rather than making things right. I looked up the part number for the control board they replaced and it is $175. So they made ~$1,500 from my original repair for an hour of work and they're still trying to nickel and dime me. We have a few issues with our Viking range and hood vent: 1. Inconsistent temperature in oven 2. Griddle won't stay lit 3. Range burners are slow to light 4. Vent not strongly pulling air from above range Our previous Viking repair guy retired and so I did a Google search and found Subzero and Viking Appliance Repair (SVAR). I called SVAR and made an appointment. I was surprised they had an appointment time for the next day. I was quoted $154 (+ tax) for the visit. The SVAR technician showed up during the agreed appointment window but was not able to repair/fix any of the issues. Instead, he gave me a repair estimate totaling $4,495.00 for the four issues. I asked him why the estimate was so high, and he said that Viking parts are "very expensive." The estimate had no breakdown for parts cost and no estimate of the time to be spent on the repair. The individual estimates were just large round numbers--$1,150 (thermostat replacement), $900 (igniter replacement), $1,150 (igniter replacement) and $1,050 (blower control replacement), respectively. Given that I have owned Viking appliance for over 10 years I was familiar with Viking repairs and know that Viking replacement parts are generally NOT expensive. (After the technician left, I priced the parts online at a Viking parts seller and total cost was about $600.) The estimate also required a 50% ($2,247.50) immediate down payment. I have never had an appliance repair service ask for a down-payment. The technician charged me $253 (+ tax) for the visit because the hood was separate from the range and required an additional $99 charge. I paid the SVAR technician and he left, and I wrote that visit off as a waste of time. The next day I was so irritated I wrote a detailed email to SVAR setting out my concerns/complaints. It's been over two weeks now and I have not received a response. I called another appliance repair service recommended by a neighbor and made an appointment for issues 1, 2 and 4 (I decided 3 didn't bother me that much). That technician told me the exact cost of the parts that needed to be replaced (which was consistent with my earlier research) and said the work would take 2-3 hours and cost between $1,200 and $1,500 (including parts). I found that to be reasonable. There was no requirement for a down payment. Based on my experience with SVAR and the reviews I've now read on Google, Yelp (especially) and the Better Business Bureau* site it appears to me that SVAR's business model is to (1) collect initial service visit fees and (2) hope that the occasional customer is foolish enough to agree to an inflated repair bill. * Search the Better Business Bureau site for "911 Fridge, LLC"--the legal name of SVAR. My advice: Believe the bad reviews and avoid this place. read more

Would not recommend, difficult to deal with and just forgot about me. I reached out to this company on St. Patricks' day weekend for my kenmore fridge not working, the technician came very quickly, (next day I believe) told me what part needed to be fixed (evaporator fan) and told me to contact them if i would like to have them fix it. I contacted them next day to set that up. originally was told one week for the part to come in. I prepaid the entire cost for the repair immediately After one week it became two weeks, then 3, so on and so on. Eventually they told me that because of covid and factories being closed and behind there is a large delay on getting the part in, and they would contact me when it came in and schedule to repair the fridge next day. I understand the pandemic has been difficult in manufacturing, and i have a garage fridge, so I wanted to be considerate and told them that was okay. July came around, I sent a message on yelp asking for any news. I got a response from them on yelp saying "i see your fridge was fixed in March by our technician, what is the problem?" I had to explain to him, that no it has not been fixed, and luckily I kept all communication with them in written form and not phone. After sending several text message screenshots from the previous months, they said they thought it had been fixed and apologized, i asked to either have a refund, have them fix it this week, or i would file a chargeback with my credit card company. They have still not responded to my request for a refund, so i assume i have to go about this the difficult way now. I googled the part ID number and received the part from amazon in 2 days, watched a youtube video on how to do the repair, and did it myself for 30$ and in 2 hours. beware this company and keep all records you have with them. read more

When I got a bid that was half the price of a new Sub Zero, I looked online and found that there is actually only one authorized servicer of Sub Zero appliances. I decided to go with them, and ended up paying under $1000, instead of over $4,000 I would have paid if I'd gone with this company. Even if you have the last option to choose this company, don't go with them - prefer suicide rather than hiring them and then feel tortured every day. I hired them for fixing my microwave and was so happy as they agreed for a same day appointment. The technician came on time and diagnosed the issue and told me that a part (transformer - actual cost ~$150) need to be ordered that can take 3-5 business days and he gave me a quote of $650 and asked for 50% advance payment. The quoted price was super expensive but didn't hesitate as life without microwave in Washington state is very difficult- I paid 100% with a hope that it will get fixed within a week. I didn't hear from them for more than 10 days. Then called up to know that the part has not arrived and it will take couple of days. Some other technician came after 5 days with the part - this technician didn't seem to have any knowledge, he was supposed to replace just the transformer - he took more than two hours but couldn't fix it and finally told me that he needs to order another part which will take 3 days and luckily he didn't give me a new quote. I didn't receive any call for next 6 days and called up them. I was told that it will take two more days for them to receive the part - I was feeling horrible as it was already more than 20 days and I was living in Washington state without a microwave. Next day I got a call from them to figure out that they received the part but it was a defective one. They need to reorder it again which will take 7-8 days. I was totally pissed off and asked them to return my payment and I will buy a new microwave. They told me that they can only return 75% of my payment as per the agreement that I signed during making the payment. And they have the right to take forever to fix the microwave. I have no option but just to wait with a hope that God (this company) will come someday and fix my microwave. Yes, my microwave is still not fixed and I am waiting for them while writing this review. I called because they offered same day expert service. Told the scheduler when I called that I thought the heating element on my wolf range was out. Gave her the model number and specified small oven was not heating. The tech came out and took about 10 minutes to confirm my assessment. Diagnostic charge was $89.00 as promised. They didn't have the part but verbally gave me a quote for almost $1100. "Because it's wolf, high end". They would not provide a detailed breakout of parts vs labor but did talk about their great one year service guarantee. Ultimately, I bought the part (genuine wolf) online for about $200 retail. My Bosch refrigerator went out and would not turn on at all. I called at least 10 businesses and only these guys were able to see the fridge the next day and showed up as promised. Sam arrived and took apart the fridge and ran diagnostics and was able to solve the problem in around half an hour. He could have said we need to change the fan and fan motor to make more money, but he said they both were working fine. I appreciate his honesty and I just paid his inspection fee of $85.
