I live in an apartment complex that gets serviced by this pest company. I have lived here for several years now and overall love my complex. Unfortunately today I had the worst encounter with this pest control company. I am working from home and as I am working I hear a knock. Almost instantly someone tries to enter my apartment. Mind you, there was no notice from my apartment complex or the pest control company of entry. I instantly go into fight mode as most home invasions happen during the day. I assumed the person knocked to either look harmless from outside or to see if I was home. After the bottom lock unlocked the person tried to enter. I ran to a defensive positioned and waited. This person tried to open my door and attempted to gain entry twice. They pushed even harder and tried to get in when stopped by the top dead bolt. I was shaken, but stayed put for about 30 minutes. Once I felt safe, I went to my complex to ensure it wasn't their maintenance men before I made a police report. This is when I was told that this pest company was scheduled to come to my building and that a notice SHOULD HAVE BEEN LEFT BY THE PEST COMPANY about a week ago letting us know. I was not notified. I asked 3 other neighbors. That's 4 in total. 4 residents that had no knowledge of their home being entered. My complex said they would try to figure out what happened. At this point I called the pest company to let them know of my complaint. I was faced with the most hostile customer service representative ever. I started by stating I had a complaint and was I speaking to the right person or did I need to speak to a supervisor? After informing her (the owners wife, I believe she stated) of my issue, she passed it off like it was no big deal. At the time I had only talked to 1 other neighbor. She didn't feel 2 people not having notice was a problem. She verbatim said "2 out of how many?" As if that is an excuse. I explained she didn't understand the gravity of the situation and tried to re-explain that if someone is entering my home without my notice, we are both at imminent danger. She "didn't like my tone" and hung up on me and wouldn't answer the phone when my boyfriend tried to call back from my phone. I was NOT unprofessional with her, simply wanted my complaint to be taken seriously, not "my technician always leaves a notice." How can you be sure? Are you following her every move? She didn't leave a notice this time. Not to mention my neighbor said she hasn't in over a year. When my boyfriend called on his personal phone, she answered. This is terrible customer service. If I can't even trust a complaint to be taken seriously or even recognized appropriately without being hung up on, I want NOTHING to do with that company. I hope others see this and know to be careful when going with this company or if you live in an apartment complex that uses them. It might save you the panic it saved me. I informed my complex I NEVER want to be serviced by them again. The free service isn't worth it. How can I even trust they won't enter without my knowledge if they won't take my complaint seriously and wont talk to me? Unacceptable. read more
