Review Highlights - Compfit

I've been a member of CompFit for 4 years and I finally decided to try a dance class called "Oula" (google it).

It was my first time there and I felt like they were super accommodating in getting me set up and showing me around. The waiver and paperwork were also quick and easy. Amanda taught the class and was wonderful. A lot of newbies in the room and she challenged us but also really spoke in a way we'd understand. The class was HOT and challenging from start to finish, but I can totally see why people love it. The vibe in the room was really empowering and the space itself was super clean and modern. I showered after class and they have great locker rooms and amenities, even providing me with a shower towel! Lots of showers, tons of mirror space. The whole studio is clean, modern, and new. I would totally go back!

I had really high hopes for TruFusion University Village. The classes themselves: yoga, barre, and…read morehot Pilates are excellent. The instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, and create a great atmosphere. The front desk staff is generally friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel welcoming at first. However, my overall experience has been overshadowed by how poorly my membership cancellation was handled. I originally joined with a friend under a promotion: half off the first month, with the understanding that we'd need to stay for one full-price billing cycle. That seemed like a fair deal, and I signed up for the unlimited membership. After completing my full-price month, I asked the front desk staff the day after my full price billing cycle went through, if I needed to give any kind of notice to cancel. I was told no, that I could just come in and cancel anytime before the next billing cycle, and it would be handled on the spot. Not wanting to risk forgetting, I decided to send an email about two weeks later just to be safe. To my surprise, I received a response five days later from a manager informing me that cancellations require 30 days' notice, and I was now locked in for another $190 month which I absolutely did not plan or budget for. This was never communicated to me clearly, and certainly not what I was told in person. When my partner followed up by phone, hoping to explain the situation and ask for a reasonable exception, he was met with a defensive and dismissive attitude from the manager, Raegan, who insisted their staff "would never say that" and repeatedly pointed to the contract. No empathy, no accountability, and no willingness to even acknowledge a communication error on their part. This has left me extremely disappointed. I had truly enjoyed the studio, and I might have continued attending classes on a drop-in or smaller membership basis. But after being charged for a month I won't use, being misinformed, and then treated poorly when trying to resolve the issue, I can no longer support or recommend this business in good faith. It's unfortunate because I had been recommending TruFusion to friends, some of whom even attended classes with me, but based on this experience, I would strongly advise others not to sign up for a membership unless you're absolutely sure of your long-term commitment and are willing to navigate unclear policies and unhelpful management. A great studio with great instructors, ruined by a lack of clear communication, poor customer service, and inflexible policies. Very sad and disappointing.

The staff is very supportive and positive and make everyone feel welcome and at ease. All body types and ages are in attendance at every class which I love! Try it and I think you'll love it just as much as I do!

Three days into the COVID-19 quarantine and I'm already itching to get back into my workout…read moreroutine... which includes getting my barre on at barre3 on Rooosevelt! First off, I love the location of this studio. Super accessible for folks coming from the UW, Ravenna, Greenlake neighborhoods and super convenient for batching a workout with errands (grocery store, quick lunch, coffee to-go). Parking is also a piece of cake in this area. The facility is on the smaller side with an intimate lobby, one studio space, one bathroom, a little play area for kiddos, and some cubbies for storing belongings. Bring a lock if you care to! On an intensity scale of 0-10, with 0 being binge watching Netflix's Love Is Blind and 10 being feeling like I worked out so hard I might throw up, the classes here usually land at a 4 for me. For those who have tried Pure Barre before, barre3 is a lot more toned down and incorporates more yoga/relaxation elements in comparison. While I enjoy this on most days, I sometimes wish the exercises were more challenging and came with additional modifications to kick the workout up a notch. Another small piece of feedback I have is about socks. Out of all the barre/pilates studios I've been to, barre3 seems to be the only one that doesn't require attendees to wear socks, which I don't love... If you're gonna make me do a plank and put my hands directly on the same floor that other people's feet have walked all over, can I at least request that those tootsies not be bare? To end on a more positive note, I've always really enjoyed the instructors here! While I haven't taken class with the same person enough times to build relationships, they always bring such a calming and positive presence to the room. And great playlists, too. I'll be looking forward to my next class at barre3 when this pandemic finally comes to an end. Until then, stay safe and practice good hygiene, everyone!

We had something come up in late August and needed to cancel our summer camp. I called and they said I was 6 days past the cut off. I was giving them 45 days notice of cancellation, this was not last minute. I tried to level with them since there were 45 days to fill my daughters spot. They still refused. Online there is a waitlist for all their summer camps, which made the whole situation confusing and frustrating. They could easily fill our spot with someone from the waitlist, but they still refused! Why have a waitlist if you don't actually fill empty spots? I find that too hard to believe that they didn't take our money and then charge someone else for our spot. Getting paid twice! No one would have been left high and dry if they had just refunded us in full. I would have enrolled her in their fall class, but they wouldn't even let me do that! They refunded us $92.50 instead of the full $225 and told us never to come back. After they refunded us they stopped payment on the check!!! So we got nothing! Do not bring your kids here.
