This location probably gets least amount of publicity as far as social media wise, but this location is the best Pure Barre in Puget Sound. Its great because its less crowded than Greenlake or Queen Anne or Bellevue, probably because: 1) more students here (who have midterms, going home/travel during school breaks, etc); 2) it's a smaller facility and even with FREE parking in the back, people assume /and just park on street which may draw less people here if they find that less convenient; 3) you will find less intensive / "breaking the barre (basically pure barre intro)" class offered. This is the best location just because I dont like to be crammed when I'm trying to exercise; and the teachers are THE BEST and with less students they are able to correct my forms.

I have been to Pure Barre on a regularly basis and absolutely love it. You don't have to sweat here if you don't want to. In order to get results here, it depends on how hard you work during the classes. I have had sessions where I didn't feel like working hard and I didn't sweat at all during the routines. However, if you work hard during the class, you will sweat. It is also about small movements throughout the class. Most of the time, only yourself can feel (and not see) the movements and routines in your muscles. Classes are normally from 55 to 65 minutes, depends on your instructor. Returning client pays from $140 - $225 for monthly unlimited classes.

It was my first time there and I felt like they were super accommodating in getting me set up and showing me around. The waiver and paperwork were also quick and easy. Amanda taught the class and was wonderful. A lot of newbies in the room and she challenged us but also really spoke in a way we'd understand. The class was HOT and challenging from start to finish, but I can totally see why people love it. The vibe in the room was really empowering and the space itself was super clean and modern. I showered after class and they have great locker rooms and amenities, even providing me with a shower towel! Lots of showers, tons of mirror space. The whole studio is clean, modern, and new. I would totally go back!

I had really high hopes for TruFusion University Village. The classes themselves: yoga, barre, and…read morehot Pilates are excellent. The instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, and create a great atmosphere. The front desk staff is generally friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel welcoming at first. However, my overall experience has been overshadowed by how poorly my membership cancellation was handled. I originally joined with a friend under a promotion: half off the first month, with the understanding that we'd need to stay for one full-price billing cycle. That seemed like a fair deal, and I signed up for the unlimited membership. After completing my full-price month, I asked the front desk staff the day after my full price billing cycle went through, if I needed to give any kind of notice to cancel. I was told no, that I could just come in and cancel anytime before the next billing cycle, and it would be handled on the spot. Not wanting to risk forgetting, I decided to send an email about two weeks later just to be safe. To my surprise, I received a response five days later from a manager informing me that cancellations require 30 days' notice, and I was now locked in for another $190 month which I absolutely did not plan or budget for. This was never communicated to me clearly, and certainly not what I was told in person. When my partner followed up by phone, hoping to explain the situation and ask for a reasonable exception, he was met with a defensive and dismissive attitude from the manager, Raegan, who insisted their staff "would never say that" and repeatedly pointed to the contract. No empathy, no accountability, and no willingness to even acknowledge a communication error on their part. This has left me extremely disappointed. I had truly enjoyed the studio, and I might have continued attending classes on a drop-in or smaller membership basis. But after being charged for a month I won't use, being misinformed, and then treated poorly when trying to resolve the issue, I can no longer support or recommend this business in good faith. It's unfortunate because I had been recommending TruFusion to friends, some of whom even attended classes with me, but based on this experience, I would strongly advise others not to sign up for a membership unless you're absolutely sure of your long-term commitment and are willing to navigate unclear policies and unhelpful management. A great studio with great instructors, ruined by a lack of clear communication, poor customer service, and inflexible policies. Very sad and disappointing.

I struggled with self-motivation, did not feel confident as I fumbled around a gym, and struggled with chronic pain due to several car accidents and demanding athletic activity throughout childhood. Walking through the doors of this Barre3 studio changed all of this for me. I was hooked before I'd completed my first class! Not only are the workouts challenging and dynamic, I find myself experiencing an exponential boost in confidence and competence regarding mobility, breath, and functional strength. Prior to Barre3, I was unable to successfully use my postural muscles effectively, due to long term injury. After 6 months of Barre3 workouts, my chiropractor recently shared that my posture is improving greatly! What truly sets Barre3 Kirkland apart from other fitness studios is the strong sense of community that exists within the space. Owners, Elizabeth and Hannah, along with their wonderful team, create an atmosphere that is welcoming, inclusive, and safe for people to move, grow, challenge themselves, and be vulnerable throughout the process. Their intentional efforts to authentically engage and build relationships with participants fosters an atmosphere that that feels unlike any other fitness environment. I genuinely feel like I am loved and cared for by staff and other studio members--what a gift. This place is truly special. Three days into the COVID-19 quarantine and I'm already itching to get back into my workout…read moreroutine... which includes getting my barre on at barre3 on Rooosevelt! First off, I love the location of this studio. Super accessible for folks coming from the UW, Ravenna, Greenlake neighborhoods and super convenient for batching a workout with errands (grocery store, quick lunch, coffee to-go). Parking is also a piece of cake in this area. The facility is on the smaller side with an intimate lobby, one studio space, one bathroom, a little play area for kiddos, and some cubbies for storing belongings. Bring a lock if you care to! On an intensity scale of 0-10, with 0 being binge watching Netflix's Love Is Blind and 10 being feeling like I worked out so hard I might throw up, the classes here usually land at a 4 for me. For those who have tried Pure Barre before, barre3 is a lot more toned down and incorporates more yoga/relaxation elements in comparison. While I enjoy this on most days, I sometimes wish the exercises were more challenging and came with additional modifications to kick the workout up a notch. Another small piece of feedback I have is about socks. Out of all the barre/pilates studios I've been to, barre3 seems to be the only one that doesn't require attendees to wear socks, which I don't love... If you're gonna make me do a plank and put my hands directly on the same floor that other people's feet have walked all over, can I at least request that those tootsies not be bare? To end on a more positive note, I've always really enjoyed the instructors here! While I haven't taken class with the same person enough times to build relationships, they always bring such a calming and positive presence to the room. And great playlists, too. I'll be looking forward to my next class at barre3 when this pandemic finally comes to an end. Until then, stay safe and practice good hygiene, everyone!
