I love coming to Bar Method. The teachers here are seasoned and know their crafts, giving verbal adjustments that helped me get into a better poses, which really nails down the specific muscle group that the position targets. I can't say enough about how wonderful this studio is and how great the workouts are! I've been attending Bar Method classes off and on for years, it's such a great workout. I've tried nearly every type of workout around and nothing changes my body as quickly as attending regular Bar classes. I am writing an updated review from January 2021 because I have been taking classes safely in the gorgeous, new studio for over a year now. I am SO very grateful to return to in person classes and thankful how the Bar Method Phinney Ridge has navigated the pandemic and safely offered in studio classes, modifying COVID restrictions as needed. Every time I go to class, I am challenged and also my heart is filled with joy from being around a group of kind, positive, and strong individuals. I also feel safe in the studio, knowing that proof of vaccination is required, masks are optional, and everything is always so clean. I have been taking Bar Method classes for over 7 years now and still feel challenged; I love how many new exercises and props (hello, sliders!) have been incorporated in classes to keep things fresh while providing the full body workout we expect. It's been a year since my last review and this studio has grown so much! It started out with mostly outdoor and zoom classes but now they're doing indoor classes as well as offering new class formats, so there's something for everyone! Kat and Mari have done an amazing job with the studio, major props to these ladies for opening a studio during the pandemic! The Bar Method is such an incredible full body exercise that is also good for the mind and soul. I've tried many exercise routines over the tears and it is the only one I've stuck with and look forward to doing. Even during COVID shutdowns, Kat and Mari managed to find ways to open and deliver classes. Classes are available in person outside under a canopy- (yay legwarmers!) as well over zoom. I tried bar method workouts for the first time during the pandemic. The studio owners were nothing but welcoming and all teachers were quick to learn my name! I didn't know what to expect going in, but instructions are being called out pretty constantly so I just had to listen. Even as a beginner, I just did the exercises to the best of my ability, and for those with more experience, there are "challenge options" given, so everyone gets a workout, but I don't feel like I'm being watched or judged by anyone. I'm so glad I tried it. Five months later and due to rain and other places being closed (pandemic!) The Bar Method Phinney Ridge is my sole workout spot and it is keeping me sane during these highly stressful times! read more

When I wrote a review of the Bar Method Phinney Ridge over a year ago, things were a little different: mid-pandemic, the studio wasn't open for indoor classes, so classes were held outdoors or over Zoom. A lot has changed since then-- but what hasn't is the incredible workout and amazing community that has been cultivated at this studio! I've never stuck with a workout as religiously as I do with Bar Method, and I've also never seen results like I do with these classes. They're intensely challenging but also low impact, so you can build strength without setbacks. I've loved seeing the changes in my strength, flexibility, and confidence since finding the Bar Method. The studio space is beautiful, meticulously clean and with numerous safety protocols (including keeping class sizes limited) that give me confidence to work out in person even in this COVID era. Don't hesitate to take a class here ASAP-- your body and your mind will thank you for it! read more

I have been doing bar method on and off for eight years (Newport Beach, Palo Alto and now Seattle) and always find myself returning to this effective workout. Kat and Mari have done an amazing job of keeping classes running as Inslee keeps modifying and extending COVID restrictions. I discovered The Bar Method about nine years ago and it has been the best workout I have ever encountered. As a 6) year old woman who has exercised my whole life, the Bar Method was introduced to me at a time when my joints were starting to need protection from high impact exercise. The Bar Method approach works out every muscle group to the point of fatigue and then stretches them to keep muscles from bulking up and creates long, lean muscles, allowing me to live a healthy, strong and active life. The studio at Phinney Ridge has managed to find ways to rise above the challenges of COVID-19, offering a safe and protected environment at their facility, while also offering online options.
